The Wimborne road track has never really been spot on has it.. -
I know it really shouldn't be in this section but come on, give me some slack on this to get some publicity! Eastbourne Eagles are riding on Sunday at Iwade Sittingbourne against the Thurrock Hammers (Arena/Lakeside) The meeting starts at 12pm. Gates open at 10am, Raspberry lane, ME9 8SP Adults £13 Concessions (60+) £10 Children under 16 free with a paying adult. And what a line up managed by Eagles legend, Dave 'Floppy' Norris. Scott Nicholls Edward Kennett Nathan Ablitt Paul Starke Jody Scott Henning Loof. Should be good fun with that line up!

Defunct tracks and what’s now built on their sites?

Arlington Stadium, Eastbourne, is still a fully operational stadium with a speedway track still in situ that the owners will not let anybody use.. That's really sad.. -

Best thing Tom Brennan did was move away to the midlands and away from the South coast set up IMHO. -

How did Kyle Newman's replacement, Patrick Beak, look? -
You have to feel sorry for riders like Kyle Newman, only riding in one league his season has been fragmented and never really got going. You can't expect a rider to get going with such large gaps in his racing calendar, good rider with still a lot to offer the sport.

That was all four back all day long.. -
I have a few memorable meetings but my first is Eastbourne V hull in the early 80's I had been to a few meetings at Arlington since 1976 but was really young so don't remember that much. I went to Arlington still as a kid with friends on our bicycles to watch Eastbourne V Hull. Prompted by my mates I went and got a few autographs in the pits before the start, going back to my mates I asked 'Who was that?' That's Ivan Mauger was the reply.. I was hooked from heat 1, GK scored a full max, Kelly Moran and Paul Woods also went unbeaten in a 48-30 win. The rest for me is history, sometimes it's not the magnitude of the meeting but what it means at a personal level.

Speedway of Nations 2024

Steve was not having a dig about the venue, I live in Brighton so I can't make it in person so I pay my money to discovery+ hoping that filters down to the sport in a small way. And about your dig about the lack of tracks in the south, call yourself a fan of the sport? I, along with others have tried our best to get the sport back to Arlington and I know our friends at Lakeside have done the same. -
Yes they do but don't wright the lad off as just a throttle jockey, he has a lot of potential, how far he will go will depend on a lot of factors but he does have a lot going for him.

good people will always try to find the best in people, no idea if this is true but keep being like the rest of us, a good solid person..
