Birmingham Brummies 2020
M.D replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I really hope Birmingham can come to tapes in 2022, the start up costs are large and that rent sounds pretty big too.. If they do manage it and we all hope they do, get out and support your club! -
To be fair, we all backed Jordan.. I thought he was the man who was taking the club forward and I liked what he was doing Trouble was, only he knew what a mess the club was in for whatever reason and it just fell apart like a pack of cards taking a lot of good people by suprise.
-
I think you mean Paul Watson? If so Paul was the press officer and had no dealings with the management of the club itself, he has now retired from journalism.
-
Understandably I cant really comment on a public forum of such matters.
-
You would not believe the issues Ian Jordan has caused the club let alone the debts he has racked up, he's cost the rders, sponsors and fans a lot of money and cost the club a year of track action along with giving the club a bad name..
-
We will be back 2023..
-
Sad to say we won't be running NL in 2022
-
Thats gone over a lot of people heads, like your work there...

Birmingham Brummies 2020

This is something Eastbourne considered strongly before deciding to leave Championship racing until 2023, we simply ran out of time and one of the reasons but not the only one was what possible team we could field. -
There should be some news in a week or so but Championship is ruled out until 2023
-
I don't think we will go that way no..
-
Thats great news, Eastbourne will be running in the championship in 2023. 2022?
-
Swindon or Somerset at a guess..

I agree it does seem a big ask and I doubt they will be given the luxury of leaving it until 2023 wil ARC in charge, I do hope they manage to do it though -
Yes but its not, its 7 man teams
-
And remember, the CL could be as low as 10 teams next year
-
Although I do agree with your points, running 4 meetings on a Friday would be foolish. That would be 8 teams in action, now out of those 8 teams its only going to take a few injures and rider commitments elsewhere and your in a world of pain getting 8 teams to tapes at somewhere near full strength Then the crowds will dip all round on the nights as substandard teams will have to be put out..
-
I have said it before and yes I know the figures, speedway at the current championship level is finacially viable at Eastbourne, its just too soon for 2022 at that level..
-
Looks like a street drinker has photo bombed the pic..
-
When the previous promotion folded all club assets returned to the BSPL and riders have signed as assets to other clubs so highly unlikely, the new management team will have to start from scratch plans and finances are already in place for 2023 for Eastbourne, 2022 looks as if it came too soon..
-
Fantastic news Oxford are back, I lived in Chinnor for a couple of years so spent a few seasons watching the sport ay Cowley, great news for fans and the sport..
-
The BSPL and Chris Louis in particular have been very helpful and understanding in what we are going to achieve at Eastbourne for the future, we are all working together to make sure the sport resumes at Arlington.

I doubt it, they have a shelf life of 6 years then get inspected, they were lucky to get a year extension last year..
