Recent events that led to Lewis Kerr's injuries may have played a part too? Just guessing but wouldn't blame him to be honest. Can only respect his decision and wish him well.

Seems Polish refs are being more circumspect about first bend decisions recently. Heat 8 would have got an 'all four back' from most British refs as an easy way out.

Interesting to hear that the interviewer asked Nicki about the British League equivalent meeting. (Which he hasn't been involved with for a while as we know) and completely ignored the Danish equivalent. If Nicki was offended by this he didn't let on.
