Birmingham vs Oxford 20/7/22 (CJL)
Hilly replied to Fozzie4388's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Plenty of dust and water seemed non existent until making an appearance heat 10/11. Could barely see the riders from bend 1 at some points it was so dusty. Slipped through our fingers really. -
Birmingham vs Oxford 20/7/22 (CJL)

Thomas having a spin after tomorrows home meeting. -
Batchelor should definitely be doing better, averaged over 9 for Kent last season, but I'd have him back next year on a 7.20'ish average. He was popping wheelies in ht15 last wk, was a long last at the time and the meeting was won, seen other riders do the same. Could barely score a point on Wednesday for Oxford then paid 16 for Ipswich against Belle Vue the following night, you just have to accept that sort of thing when you sign him.

Always difficult to judge, can be anything from 100-250 inside. Does having the BSN cover it make a lot of difference? Maybe if travelling from further away. In general thou, crowd figures very encouraging, including the National League racing.

Championship Pairs 2022
Hilly replied to Triple.H.'s topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Anybody know the format for this meeting? Hopefully no reserve who must take a ride rubbish. Assume a 4-3-2-0 scoring system, top scorers into final with 2nd n 3rd in race off. If all the top 2's turn up on the night, should be a great meeting. -

I'm only shocked that I'm shocked. -
Was asked, saw some information that indicated it could have happened so asked the question. Obviously glad to see him riding tonight and hopefully next season as well, seems to finding a few lines around Oxford now.

Leicester Lions 2022 Line up
Hilly replied to FishersGate's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
MacDonald unlikely to ride again this season, doubt Leicester would be interested anyway, real average well below 4pt. -
You can pay by card on the gate, no cash.

Only rider possibly worth looking at would be Starke, does he fit for Newman or Heeps and go with Killeen or another novice at 7?

Monarchs vs Cheetahs Championship 24/06
Hilly replied to gmuncie's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
A point was definitely deserved. Batchelor in ht9 and Summers in ht12 would have been favourites to win those heats so could have been even better. Masters n Pickering never looked like being beaten, even when they were briefly headed in ht 13. Would have taken a point before the start thou. -
Stripes (Glasgow) Vs Oxford champ 17th June
Hilly replied to Jaizer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
After a 9 1/2 hour trip north, was good to see a decent meeting, plenty of entertaining racing. Nice start to his Oxford career by Summers. Disappointing to see Josh MacDonald pick up another knock, we've virtually run the whole season without a number 7 with a 4pt average. That could be the difference between play offs or not. Vital to win all our remaining home matches and hopefully pick up something at Edinburgh on Friday. -
Welcome aboard Spud, hit the ground anything like Sedgie has and we could yet surprise a few teams
-
They said Andersen was riding at number 5 so presumably in for Starke.

Cracking meeting, with respect to Birmingham and Newcastle, this was easily our best away performance of the season. A very well earned point that could easily have been more. Not sure why Newman was put off -15 after touching the tapes in heat 3, Ruml had just won heat 2 and ended up having only 6 rides. MacDonald still looks unfit and with Thomas likely to be out for a period, R/R offers limited manouvering with an unfit reserve, although Batchelor does get an extra ride. Anybody thinking of going to Redcar should go, been some great racing on my two visits this season.

Teterow GP round 4 Saturday June 4th
Hilly replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Maybe just give the rider winning the final 23 points, everybody else scores what they score as before. If you go unbeaten, you'd gain another 2 points as well. Winning finalist will always get most points and somebody having done well in qualifying also rewarded with good points. -
Oxford v Birmingham Tues 17th May
Hilly replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Oxford having been fielding a team 3points under the limit all season (bar the opening meeting), alongside disappointing returns from some, adds up to a poor return all round. -
Our finances are built around a modest attendance figure for this season, realistic, not silly. We'll leave that to others
