  1. Disappointing to learn that yet again we are way under the limit, I don't see Strudwick getting a place away from Rye House unfortunately. Still it's a good lineup and I expect most of them to improve on the averages, Freemantle being the main one to watch.
  2. Only Ben Hopwood 'Officially' confirmed so far but very good news from Brandon Freemantle's website. "Following today's press release on the BSPA website regarding Lakeside's plans for Good Friday, where the Hammers will face the Eastbourne Eagles in the first match of a double header followed by the first appearance of the newly re-formed Hackney Hawks, we are happy to confirm that, with the agreement of Eastbourne, Brandon has committed himself to the Hawks for what will be his debut season of National League racing. Following the example of the Dudley Heathens, who used the tracks of both Birmingham and Wolverhampton for their home meetings on their return to the sport last season, the Hawks will be using Rye House's Hoddesdon track and that of the Lakeside Hammers for their home meetings in the forthcoming campaign. Both these clubs see the Hawks as playing a significant role in the development of young riders that could see them each reap long-term benefits, although the rise of the Hawks sees the demise of Rye House's Kart Raceway Cobra's. Brandon, clearly excited and relishing the prospects of linking with the Hawks, says, "I am really looking forward to this season. I know it's going to be much harder than the stuff I have done so far. We've got a good team of riders who I can't wait to ride with. This is the beginning of another big learning curve". "I am also looking forward to working with Neil Vatcher again. He was great to have around at the Under-15's last year, and was really cool when I rode at Newport for Bournemouth". "I have been getting all my stuff sorted out for my bikes, and would like to thank; Luke at LCS, Martin Hagon, Keith Hambridge and Bob Dugard, who have made a big difference in the quality of my equipment this year. - Bring it on !" With Lakeside today revealing that Brandon, Marc Owen and Shane Hazelden have all agreed deals to ride for the Hawks, and Rye House announcing a couple of days ago that Ben Hopwood is already signed and sealed, the team looks to be pretty much sorted, the main doubt surrounding whether or not the signing of proposed new number one, Barrie Evans, will go ahead following the revival of Mildenhall. The Hawks are due to launch their campaign with a challenge match against a USA tourist team at Rye House's Hoddesdon track on Saturday, 9th April (7pm)." So we are possibly looking at Barrie Evans 7.87 Marc Owen 6.92 Ben Hopwood 6.83 6.34 Left- Lee Strudwick 6.29? Ben Morley 4.65 Shane Hazelden 4.39 Brandon Freemantle 3.00 No idea if averages are correct but the team is shaping up nicely!
  3. From the Stars Facebook page. James Cockle joins the Young Stars for the 2011 season along with Darren Mallett, Adam Lowe, Jake Knight, Lewis Kerr, Lewis Blackbird and Tom Stokes
  4. Adam Roynon signs for Dudley http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.9906
  5. Whats this on eSpeedway about Holta, Lindgren and Bridger being suspended in Poland? Not sure if this is a past suspension or one for 2011? Link http://www.espeedway.pl/info,info,1.html It's hard to understand using Google translator, could anybody explain what this is about?
  6. I quite agree, it is good to see the likes of Morley, Owen and Hazelden coming through the Cobras, I would hope Len will keep all 3 from last season. If we are looking to sign another 15 year old I wouldn't look any further than Brandon Freemantle, the current under 15 champion sponsored by Eastbourne, Hagon Shocks and mentored by Kennett (seems familiar) I have seen him ride a 250 at Rye and took only his 2nd ride on a 500 at Rye, perfectly smooth and should be one of the Brits to look for in the future. Turned 15 late last season and rode one match for Newport, scored 4+2, I would imagine alot of teams would be after him, as they were with Owen
  7. Where will Nicki Pedersen go now the Lejonen squad is complete
  8. Forgot about the curfew myself I would assume it was down to the crash, was a very bad 1st bend bunching. Best wishes to both riders
  9. Well maybe you should ask Searley on his thoughts of the meeting, after all he left after heat 5
  10. Nothing to debate...exactly The score was obviously alot closer in the National League match but from memory there wasn't one single pass so how that meeting can be better I'm not sure. From the first meeting there were a number of passes to remember from Sundstrom, Hughes, Neath and good riding from Smart = much more entertaining and presumably less dust!
  11. Luke? Do you mean Lee Strudwick? An OK meeting but considering the weather it was good, impressed with the Worrall brothers and Birks scored some important points not to mention Burrows 4th bend pass, Jacobs and Owen looked fast back from injury but tomorrow's meeting will be harder, although conditions maybe easier...
  12. Certainly looks an entertaining lineup to me, is this Richie Worralls full debut? Both Worralls style on a bike suggests they are big track riders but Steve Worrall was impressive at Lakeside in the Under 21 and Burrows back around Rye House again always a thrill. Good to hear that Jacobs and Owen might be back but I don't suppose we will find out the full lineup till tomorrow 7pm!
  13. Here comes the rain and plenty of it!
  14. What a strange change to make, makes the Hornets weaker IMO. Best of luck trying to find a team place Tim.
  15. Well its confirmed HERE, I'm disappointed from the management signing a 34 year old to replace a 16 year old rider, Tom Stokes was more than on the pace Saturday and he should atleast be given a run in the team. Bad news concerning Morley get well soon to him.
  16. If it's been on Facebook I wouldn't have seen it, for a change! Had no PC for two weeks.
  17. Not really related to this meeting but I see on the National League 2010 lineups that Ricky Scarboro is listed under Rye House team and that Ben Morley is not, I hope this is a mistake made on the website and that Ben is not injured? (Pulled out of last weeks meeting against Bournemouth) We already have one very experienced rider having another one added is not what Rye House is about...
  18. Does Paul Starke have a great deal of Premier experience? Someone who does...Lee Smethills who also rode for Weymouth last season.
  19. Think we only require one guest for Hughes or Owen plus R/R , the last clash between Rockets and Cobras Strudwick rode for the Cobras .
  20. Check the Press Releases Ben! RYE HOUSE COBRAS 1. Adam Allott (Guest) 2. Rider replacement for Marc Owen 3. David Mason © 4. Lee Strudwick 5. Kyle Hughes 6. Shane Hazleden 7. Ben Morley
  21. It seems very much a dig that Rye are no longer looking to field young riders, yet training schools are happening pretty much every week and we still have 3 teenagers in the team, I am not criticizing Mildenhall but using them as an example as you have with Rye. What is all this about his average doubling and halving Aussies cannot double up he will be 5.00 PL or 6.00 NL as it has been for a few years Can't see why we suddenly wish that Nelsons points are taken away he is not the first Aussie to ride NL this year and won't be the last, hopefully matters are sorted sharpish with a statement either from Rye or the BSPA.
