  1. I recall a young lad by the name of Kenny Coleman ,I'm fairly sure he was a second halfer at West Ham in the late sixties. He was pressed into service as a stop gap for the Hammers one night at Kings Lynn . I can't remember a Bob Coleman though. Maybe someone else may have a better memory though.
  2. I've got a vague recollection of reading something in the Speed Star some years ago of a film being shot at the old Catford dog track,I think that Briggo may have been involved in it,but I certainly wouldn't swear to it.Whether this is the film you mention I don't know for sure, perhaps someone else can throw more light on this.
  3. has he? that's news to me! i had a feeling he would do well though; in australia he's been very impressive. i've got a vague feeling he's related to leigh, but i couldn't confirm it.
  4. but at poland i think he will do well, and i don't see any point picking two different teams for the qualifiers and the racee-off/final. that would be really unfair on the riders who had worked their socks off in the qualifiers to just get dropped for the final.
  5. as hazzman said in his first post i would watch out for the young croatian jurica pavlic. only 16 (i think, i can't be sure) and he's just an exciting prospect as our very own lewis bridger. in addition to the aussies already mentioned possibly corey gathercole, mark jones and korey williams.
  6. i think scotty, loramski and stead should be definite starters. other 2 spots up for grabs between louis, bomber (my preferences) and screen (reserve). lee hasn't been too sharp this year and after bomber's performance in the championship of gb he should be given a shot.
  7. just a thought........ with some CL tracks struggling crowd-wise, might it be an idea to rename it? when people think of conference they think of the football conference; which with no offence is considered a lower league. when people see the word conference they may think "oh, must be a lower league, doesn't sound good, don't want to go to that". but when they here elite or premier they think "ooh, they must be the top leagues, think i'll go to that". so if we renamed the CL something like 'Super League' or 'National League' it may be more attractive. it may not make a difference, but it's just a thought.
  8. i was wondering about that. i was thinking; what if a rider broke the tapes in the final? would a reserve come in? it seems not.
