  1. I too would love to see Doyle as the Aces number 1. Imagine, the Aces ending heat 1 with a heat advantage, something we rarely saw in 2015.
  2. Personally I think that Kaisers absence cost Monarchs the cup
  3. Golden heat deciders are rubbish. The home rider will always have the advantage. I watched the decider when Peter Collins beat Anders Michanek at Hyde Road in 1973. Although Peter was a great rider, I have always wondered if the result would have been the same at Tilehurst, home of the Racers. Sadly this was not possible because the stadium was already being demolished.
  4. Perhaps Poole should send a winners medal to Graham Flint Did Meredith have a hand in the track prep ? I though it was the Skyman ?
  5. Very, very interesting. Poole win on aggregate by 2 points. Were they the SAME 2 points that should be deleted from the Pirates for Gogglegate at Kirky Lane ? This will rumble on for years
  6. I have to hold my hands up there. Zagar, and Cook, were about the only bright stars on Monday night, apart from Scottie, of course. I don't hate Zagar and Cook. I just have doubts about Zagar's dedication to the task, and Cook's ability anywhere except Kirky Lane. In Zagars case, a real number 1 is not happy to coast around at the back when he has missed the gate, and I cannot forget the disgraceful episode at Beaumont Park. I know Zagar has real talent, but how any real BV fan can excuse his actions I cannot imagine. In Cookie's case I think he has just stayed in the PL too long, although I realise that, financially it must be just about impossible to balance the books on EL earnings. Sadly, too often CC has failed to come to the plate when the Aces needed it. TBF he is not an EL heat leader, but he has been expected to do the job.
  7. Extremely unlikely. If Poole win by less than 10 I may hang up my pen, and programme board
  8. It appears that the chap in the referee box, powdering his nose at the wrong time was Graham Flint. I will just be glad when the kindergarten closes for the season, and we can all get back to important matters. That includes you Starman
  9. The only word that I can think of to describe BVs performance last night is INEPT. The debacle was surely down to 2 BV riders, Steve Worrall, and Stef Nielson. Worral and Nielson turned in paid 3 points between them whilst their Poole counterparts scored paid 22 points. The BV pair were supposedly one of the strongest reserve pairings in the league. Last night they looked like NL riders. I have to say that I feel sorry for Mark Lemon. He must have been tearing his hair out. The BV "Fightback" hasn't got me convinced at all. Lord Fraud is a business man. I have a feeling that he instructed the Poole team to ease up on the gas later on in the meeting. He could see that the gate money would have been adversely affected for the 2nd leg, if BV had trailed by 8-10 points. I suspect that the 2nd leg is now just a formality.
  10. I imagine that all the blue-rinse brigade are using their OAP bus passes
  11. Nobody, but nobody, jokes about Lord Fraud.
  12. With a bit of luck BV may go into the 2nd leg with a 6 point lead, but will be swamped at Wimborne Road
  13. Nice of you to say so, but I fear that it is a cry in the wilderness, or to put it more crudely pi$$ing into the wind
  14. I will be reasonably happy if he wins heat 1 at Kirky Lane. After all, it doesn't happen very often.
