  1. Not posted on here for a good while but still read regularly, I felt I had to post to give full respect to J Chapman for posting so openly and honestly, I also post on forums under my real name for last couple of years (nothing to hide here) and wish more would also do so. Respect to you Mr Chapman formally Baz Brush
  2. Do you really believe that there is any comparison between Ed and Darcy, one was found guilty by a speedway board for 1 offence of cheating and the other found guilty by a court for 3 criminal offences. Sorry but take your Darcy/Poole coloured specs off for a minute and read again what you have posted, because, believe me you are making yourself look silly. As for my views I wonder how many countries will give him a visa, we probably will but I'm not so sure about others and how many GPs will he have to miss. As for middlo's comments, I like him and hope to see something in the echo very soon apologising for misquoting him or a massive apology from him saying it came out wrong, otherwise it may make me wonder.
  3. Cheers ... Hopefully a meeting will be close enough to Torun
  4. I am going to Torun for the GP on Sat 6th October, will the finals of the play offs be finished by then or are there going to be meetings on Sunday 7th. Would be great to catch a final on Sunday too. Thanks in advance x
  5. Not home yet could someone please post updates on Edward for me. Thanks x
  6. can someone help here please i click the link and then it opens up a page what will i need to go on to watch leszno tonight thanks in advance
  7. Sky Sports website says speedway will be live in HD but red button is not HD so light at end of tunnel possibly ? Bloody hope so because I cant watch it live and am going to have to avoid all sports news.
  8. Surely until a rider gets into the gp series they don't get the sponsorship oppurtunities that it will bring in. I for one know Eddie as a friend and also know the level of backup that will be available to him IF and I stress IF he gets into the GPs. Should Ed recieve a wildcard into this seasons series I will be supporting him all the way. Good Luck with being selected mate.
  9. feel sorry for Davey if he misses this. Will there be updates on the meeting anywhere ?
  10. Well done Nicki. He has been so focussed on his speedway this year that he was almost certain to lift the crown. There for some time to come too I feel.
  11. Superguest, The stadium itself and the noise that is generated at Cardiff probably makes it seem/feel like that but I'm sure that isn't the case. When the World Cup was at Reading last year, the anthem was sung loud and proud and wonder if its just the stadium/noise and atmosphere inside the Millenium that makes it feel like that. I always sing the national anthem with pride. God Save The Queen.
  12. Just a bit of constructive critism, If you read my post again you will see that I agree that it was the best.
  13. A side that will do us proud round Coventry although on current form I would have selected the same 6 riders but with Simon Stead at reserve. Agree he should be in Graham, he deserves his place but third best is a statement I cant agree with. To be brutally honest mate the British Final was at his home track and if the final had not of been rerun then I think Ed would of beaten him. IMO Also agree that Ollie should be involved in the World Cup but only if Injuries need another rider or two to come into the squad, which may now be required. I hope that Middlo uses this World Cup to show the riders who will be the future of team GB (King, Hall, Bridger and Allen) if they are not called up what it is all about and involves them in the pits at the meetings and in his team building exercises. They are the future and will be for a fair amount of time and the experience of being involved can not do any harm but plenty of good. Swap Kennett for Allen and I think we would of been on the same wavelength, I dont think that Olly would make the team for the final when we get through and think that the place should be given to whoever is likely to be there. The injury to Howe throws a spanner in the works now and think that the side Middlo has selected would now be my side with Allen at reserve. All I hope is that the final 5 on the night ride with pride and passion, riding for team GB is an honour to the few that get selected and there are youngsters waiting in the wings that would probably give their hind teeth to be in the final 5.
  14. Well this year had to be the best Grand Prix I have ever seen at Cardiff, although 2004 and the performance from Floppy has to run it close, but, we got what we wanted, a British winner and I must admit I had tears of joy when Bomber crossed the line (that wave of emotion was something else) although I dont think i quite believed it until I heard the national anthem for the second time. GREAT, sung it loud and proud. On the night we sat on the upper tier (3rd bend this year) as we usually do and although our seats were good with a great view, we had a serious problem hearing the announcer/entertainment. The only speakers that were in operation were the ones on the ground, around the outside of the track which resulted in either looking on the screen or waiting for the crowds reaction lower down to work out the results of any close finishes. With a PA system all around the stadium I cant understand why this was a problem and why it was not being used. Another complaint has to be the way the GP was staged. Usually everybody raves about the show that is put on (entrance of riders and entertainers etc) which has been getting better and better year by year, but this year was like the start of a league match and IMO if Bomber hadn't of won (ie: taken peoples minds of it) there would of been a fair amount of critisism, although remember I'm a year older since last year, maybe I'm getting old and grumpy . Any thoughts?
  15. Also went in through gate 7 (bend 3) and it was pretty obvious that the security guards were easily fooled, there wasn't enough of them to check everybodys bag, and if you used your noddle, you could get your drinks in, the group I was in lost 3 small bottles of coke but got through with god knows how much. Can understand why security was tighter this year after the bottle throwing incidents at the World Cup at Reading last year and with the BSI or whatever they want to call themselves promoting both I personally thought it would of been stricter.
  16. While he had his helmet on I might add. Won a few quid on AJ myself .... thought he was great value at 33s seeing some of the other silly prices.
  17. Cant see him saying he is bored with speedway!!!! there is a question mark after the title which means the question is .... is he bored with it , and IMO he is certainly not showing the passion and enthusiasm that we have seen in previous years and as I said on another thread he hasnt just lost his talent overnight.
  18. Surely the wildcard should be the rider who we see stepping up to GPs full time in the near future, and the rider who can give us the best chance of someone in the latter stages (semis and finals), and I personally think that if he maintains the form he has been showing that Ed Kennett is the man for Cardiff. Steady has been unlucky this year with his injury, whereas Ed has been flying and that could cost him IMO.
  19. Not sure what words to use for Bombers performance tonight but will go for, Unexpected (but very welcome) Progressive (looked more in control as night went on) Pride (he was proud to be out there and all brits must of been proud of him tonight) Outstanding (when you look at class of rider he beat tonight in only his 2nd GP) WELL DONE BOMBER - PROUD TO BE ENGLISH TONIGHT
