  1. Whilst there are many problems, the single biggest problem is the cost. I know many people who are interested in going and when they hear it's £17 to get in are horrified.
  2. Another score like last Monday at Belle Vue would go down nicely! You couldn't get a track anymore opposite to Poland and Belle Vue however than Rye House. The last time I went to Belle Vue was when we ended up with 4 riders after Perry and Rose plowed through the fence, Doyley went on to score 17 points and we snuck a point in heat 15. I'd to like that history could repeat itself with the score and we could at least sneak another point on the road today.
  3. More nonsense posts from you. You post on another thread about not wanting grief to create stress for yourself, then you make yourself look an absolute moron yet again. And to prove that, I've been going to Somerset since 2000 in our first season FYI.
  4. The price to attend vs. The standard on offer is the biggest stumbling block. £17 for 15 x 1 minute races no matter what way you look at it isn't great value for money. As a comparison it makes the 2nd division even more of a rip off as they're getting a lot less of a standard for around £15. In answer to the original question though of how is fixed race nights working out, I think it will benefit Somerset. Whilst it was nice to end the week at Speedway instead of mid week, the traffic and surrounding areas on a Friday as a nightmare at the best of times. I can't see any reason why crowds would drop at Somerset, they should only prosper.
  5. Seems a bizarre signing to me. Would of been better off keeping Robson in for a month and use R/R whilst taking advantage of Kenneth are reserve. Missed a trick there.
  6. I'm sure somebody said before as a rough guide with some theory involved, that when they're parked in the second car park it means the crowd is around the 1000 mark - obviously depending on how many people came in each car. One thing is for sure that at the tail end of our stay in the 2nd division we were never in the 2nd car park but we have been for both our home meetings this season.
  7. I don't know the answer to what you're asking, but the floodlights are a right pain since I've been wearing glasses. They're at such an awkward height that they create a terrible sheen off of them. I often wonder if that effects the riders with their goggles on.
  8. I'm going to assume it's because of the bad weather, teams wouldn't be getting new averages for ages. Somerset have still only ridden 1 home match in the league and haven't got another home meeting for 2 weeks.
  9. Good summary as ever ER - following on from your comments about Grajczonek, he is beginning to have a growing reputation for being abit of a whinger. I'm led to believe that's how he was in the pits last season if the track wasn't like a snooker table every week. Seems happy enough to dish it out but can't take it.
  10. You've changed your tune since Monday.....
  11. He must of got you guys confused with Plymouth... Mind you, the way Poole have been riding so far it'd be easily done
  12. Seemed more than happy banging in the top score tonight!
  13. Shanes was more than in the mix on multiple occasions, sadly for him he just couldn't seem to gate and made it hard work for himself.
  14. Just in case anybody needed it confirming, the Pole at reserve for Poole is absolutely hopeless. Beyond poor and totally disinterested. At least Woryna had his moments albeit not setting the world alight. Sundstrom out of control most of the evening and very poor also. Kildemand lucky to not be excluded for planting Wright into the first bend fence too but karma came back to bite him when he fell on his own when Wright returned the favour on turn 3. Poole certainly were very ordinary. For the Rebels, our star performers were our reserves. Wilson-Dean all action as ever and what a little find Jeppesen seems to be. Give him a few meetings and he looks like he could be very handy. Jack Holder leading the way superbly in an all round team effort from 1 to 7.
  15. They should blitz us tonight then, seen as it's a cup match and averages aren't effected.....
  16. Sun has been out for at least the last 2 hours, fairly strong breeze too and no more rain forecast... should mean all systems go for tonight!
  17. As I posted earlier, I agree with you about Poole being favourites. We've only had 1 home meeting 2 weeks ago with an afternoon practice before that meeting, after our press and practice was cancelled because of the weather. Can't see there being any chance of an afternoon practice today with the way the weather is.
  18. To confuse things even more, it's what averages certain riders like Woffinden, Zagar, Pawlicki etc. could now return on, and then also teams who no longer have an 8+ rider, can they now sign an over 8 rider or are they still restricted as they had started with one previously? It's all abit messy with no real answers forthcoming.
  19. With former Rebels Grajczonek and Kurtz leading the line for Poole and Kildemand who has always scored well here, there is every chance Poole will be within a shout tonight, probably even favourites seen as it's now May and we have only had 1 home meeting. Heavy rain currently, due to have cleared by lunchtime and dry throughout the afternoon and evening. Hopefully should make for perfect track conditions.

  21. I couldn't believe when I checked to see when the 2nd leg was... all the way at the end of June. I know these two fixtures were scheduled originally for Good Friday but another case of poor fixture scheduling harming British Speedway. It's certainly taken the edge off this one abit. Intrigued to see how many Poole fans travel up as they bought quite a few with them last year on both occasions, or I wonder if they've lost faith in this team already? Looking forward to it
  22. This is one of the things that is my biggest gripe with British Speedway, which is shared by many others too - I highly expect the one over 8 has been sorted out amongst promotors but it isn't ever seen worth while spreading that knowledge with their paying customers. Neil Watson a promoter came on here earlier in the year and told everyone that the rolling averages were being reset and everyone would be issued new averages after 4H and 4A. It now seems that's been changed again and we are back to rolling averages with no explanation again or confirmation, other than new averages being published. Fans continue to be kept in the dark and treated like mugs... probably for fear of them understanding and knowing the rules better than themselves!
  23. We were told earlier in the year that rolling averages were being reset and everyone had to complete 4H 4A. Seems like another mid season change to the rule book! It makes sense, but more madness decision making in the first place.
