  1. Terrible news. Just when we thought we had a settled team, especially when they were all starting to click on track at least at home, we're landed with this bombshell. It's no secret Wright wasn't supposed to be in the original team anyway after the presentation night fiasco at the end of last year and Chris Holder was, followed by the reports of him whinging about the track time after time, I suppose it should come as no surprise albeit not easy to accept. Probably even sadder to see Jonas go as he looks like he has something about him, especially if he could learn to gate! Almost left speechless by us signing Covatti and Vissing. Both seem past their best and neither of them are up to Wright's standards. Both very injury prone too so I'm not sure this is the long term solution, so expect some more changes on the way....
  2. Bit extreme - he appeared frustrated when chasing Rory Schlein, his steel shoe came loose and was left dangling which he seemed to toss over the safety fence on the second bend after the race. Just to clarify also, there is no spectators in that section anymore.
  3. Would hardly call him a track specialist. The last few times he has visited he hasn't ridden the track that well considering he rode for us for a few seasons.
  4. He was garbage tonight other than winning heat 2 when Jake Allen made a right mess of the opening turns and had to come from 4th into 2nd and nearly pipped Heeps.
  5. Thank you, and good night Another good meeting in front of what seemed a half decent crowd again. Rebels just too strong for Wolves in the second half of the meeting when we started making some half decent starts. For Wolves they never really looked like winning it as Howarth and Masters were way too inconsistent, whilst Heeps was pretty poor at reserve too. Schlein started on fire but faded massively whilst Thorssell was his useless solid self. For the Rebels, we started slowly but soon kicked into live and it felt like we could of won by 20 if we really kicked on. Doyle wasn't at his best and still hasn't nailed the right lines yet at the OTA since coming back but solid enough. Holder was mighty quick and it's criminal he only got 6 points for his efforts. Lawson and Wright back to good scoring form at home which was great to see. Lawson again is never ultra quick but when he has someone behind him trying to pass him he manages to make his bike about 10foot wide, such a great tactician on the defence. A shout out for Jonas too, if only he could gate he would be a top rider. He has so much speed when he is behind and his pass on Howarth was vintage, reeling him in for 3 laps trying the inside and then winding it on around the outside on the final turn. Great stuff. Tough match next week with Poole back in town and their fortunes starting to change. Could be another close one!
  6. ....and get ready to fight for the wooden spoon with Rye House with that team. Your vendetta against the Kings Lynn promotion seems to constantly cloud your judgement.
  7. Looking forward to this one. A chance of a few showers this afternoon but nothing that should get close to putting the meeting in any doubt. Tricky match this one too seen as we haven't had a home match in about 3 weeks, especially after Wolves won here last year and track specialist in Howarth, as well as Masters, Schlein and Thorsell who have all scored well before. Somerset need a big comeback from Lawson and Allen to pile up the points at reserve. I'll go for the Rebels by 8.
  8. The variables are by what contract was initially signed when somebody becomes an 'asset' of a club and claim to own a certain rider. If there is no contract then how any club can claim to own a certain rider is beyond me. If there is a contract, it would be picked to pieces in a court of law.
  9. You can't honestly believe that a club who have terminated his loan deal and sacked him, then potentially recieving a loan fee off the club they loaned him from initially is 'sensible' can you? Like I said, only in speedway!
  10. That's how it works in football. If the loaning club terminated his loan early, that is their problem quite frankly. They should of invested their investment better at the start of the season.
  11. Only in speedway eh.... funny old game this asset lark!
  12. That is correct. If Kennett's average was higher than 6.81, they could replace him upto whatever his current average was.
  13. With all the crying and whinging in the Poole area at the moment, I'm not surprised!
  14. Led to believe that's what Somerset done a few weeks back. They realised if things carried on at the standard at the start of the season, fans wouldn't be coming back. Poole could do with taking a leaf out of their book if they want to keep hold of their fans...... oh and chop Starman's fingers off too, as his postings just keep digging a hole deeper and deeper for Poole and Matt Ford (excuse the pun!)
  15. I didn't think you did Facebook, twitter or any other social media?
  16. Figures of 60K for Janowski is absolute rubbish. When Doyle scored a maximum for Somerset at our last home meeting that supposedly earned him just over £9,000 so there is no way Janowskj would be on over 6 times that.
  17. Talk about over engineering a simple solution to a simple solution. Flood the infield, who cares if the infield is a swamp if you've got a decent race track on the outside! The sheets are over such a short span, they would bow slightly in the middle but the angle is such as the inside would be pegged to the ground that it would continue to run to the infield. If the sheets are overlapped you shouldn't get any leakage at all. Pegging to the infield would be more than sufficient and wouldn't need ratchet straps at all. I've seen it done elsewhere albeit not on a speedway track and they don't have a problem. Not sure why for speedway it's deemed to be impossible
  18. Have you ever felt a wet tarpaulin sheet? If a speedway fence isn't strong enough to take the weight of that, then there is bigger problems with health and safety than first feared! With regards your second point, attach it to the top of the air fence worst case. When the air fence is deflated it will drop down or when it is removed it will also be removed in the same motion.
  19. No - I haven't done for about 4 years. Something else you've got wrong today
  20. Poland's sports include almost all sporting disciplines, in particular: volleyball, football (the most popular sport) and motorcycle speedway, ski jumping, track & field, basketball, boxing, fencing, rugby union, field hockey, handball, ice hockey, swimming and weightlifting. A quick google search has thrown this up. I've highlighted the important bit in bold and underlined it.
  21. I don't understand why in speedway the covers aren't attached to the top of the fence and angled in towards the infield. Undo the straps and roll them out. Job done. 2 hours work at most.
