2019 One big league will it happen.?

....and see even more fans leave the sport in its masses. Continuing to weaken and weaken the product is not the answer! -
2019 One big league will it happen.?
Najjer replied to Sidney the robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
What's staggering is that a lot of Championship clubs are already charging the same as, if not more, to get in to watch them. I read the other day Edinburgh charge £18.50 if you don't buy a ticket in advance! So, are clubs like that racking it in on the 2nd division by over charging or are they doing it to stay afloat in the hope the same old regulars keep coming back and paying £18 or whatever it might be? If it's the 1st option... why would they want change? If it's the 2nd, how could they make it pay with the increased costs of the top tier? Assuming they could make it pay the top division needs Sheffield, Ipswich, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Peterborough to move up. The rest could make up a 2nd division which is a lot lower standard and a lot more cost effective to them. -

1 BIGGER league? That sounds a great idea. 1 big league though? No, it won't work and will end up closing several tracks down aswell as an embarrassment of not having enough riders to fill the teams. -
IF that's true, they're even bigger morons than I gave them credit for. What decent businessman buys a business without doing the relevant checks on what he is actually buying? Surely he has to know the state of it to reflect the value of what he is spending. That just makes them look even more incompetent than what they have been made to look over the last few months or more already.

What's your name on twitter then? Just in case people wanted to follow you and read any of your tweets on there aswell as here.

He has since left by mutual consent I believe. What a signing for the Rebels that would be and arguably even better than bringing in the World Champion. What a statement of intent that would be until Doyley is back fit. 5 meetings at the Oak Tree could suit Tai down to the ground!

5 home matches in August and 2 visits to Poole. Not a bad shout as I'm never a big fan of guests at no.1. I wonder if Tai fancies earning a few more quid now he doesn't have a Swedish team??

19/07/2018 : Swindon v Somerset : Premiership
Najjer replied to ReadingRacer2017's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Quite right Cliff, Jack Holder especially has been an absolute revelation. I know it feels like an age since we had a home meeting but Jack's away average is actually higher than his home average.... you don't see that very often! What a signing he's been. I couldn't of got it more wrong either as thought Aarnio would of been poor but seems he won us the match with a great double figure score. Doyley at his best too! Anyone know why he didn't do heat 15 when the points weren't secure? Another cracking away result ending another unbeaten home run of a team. Few more home wins and that should be us in the play offs comfortably. -
No it isn't - guests are one of the worst things about Speedway. They should only ever be used as a last resort in my opinion.

Covatti missing for the Rebels is a big miss considering the form he has been in since signing for us. Whilst our team has changed slightly, and Swindon are missing both Bellego and Zak Waj from the previous meeting, we got slaughtered there earlier in the year. Remarkably Swindon are the only team in the league with a 100% winning record at home too. Swindon 48 Somerset 42 I'll go for. -
I think the point being made to start the thread is a valid one, albeit under a stupid thread title. The point of 'Should teams be able to make as many changes as they like, or be limited?' is a decent debate to be had. Like most threads though the point gets missed massively by many and turns into everyone vs. Poole scenario.

Belle Vue v Somerset 16/7 BT Sport
Najjer replied to Rob B's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
A lot depends on Steve Worrall. I'd predict he's the difference between the Aces winning by 10 or the Rebels sneaking something from this one! -
Starman just because you might be a happy clapper, if someone disagrees with Matt Ford's actions they are well within their right to voice their opinion. It's attitudes like that, that basically tells the fans to 'Shut up... like it or lump it' that has left Speedway in the sorry state it's currently in. In this day and age, if someone isn't happy because their favourite rider has been given the chop they should be able to speak up and say what they think. We don't all have clap along with our program boards held aloft because Matt Ford or any other promotor told us to. For what it's worth, I don't think there should be a limit on rider changes. The season is shorter now and it's a results based business so everyone should be entitled to track what they believe is the strongest possible team.

Jesus Christ.

2 changes have been for Kildemand and then Sundstrom, who have both opted out of the British League themselves - but don't let that get in the way of your arguement as it'd only make it invalid!

KIDS GO FREE AT SUMMER SPEEDWAY!
Najjer replied to Dave1964's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It's madness that every team doesn't allow 16 year olds and under in for free every week! -
I believe there has been an element of confusion on whether Rye riders would revert to their starting averages, keep their most recent CMA or have a converted Championship average - not to mention what would happen to everyone else in the Premiership whether they would keep the Rye results in their averages or not. Once all of that had been established, we have then moved for Summers. So stop banging your "simple maths" drums as, as per usual in Speedway nothing is ever simple.
-
Because we were under the points limit and therefore could redeclare up to a maximum of 42.50.
-
That's exactly what I'm saying. Anybody could build a team to have a strong reserve, or even two strong reserves. If it was such a big advantage why doesn't everyone do it?
-
Nonsense. Anybody could sign a reserve and do the same thing.
-
Using Somerset as an example again, I frankly don't really care much for who Jason Doyle rides for in Sweden, who Jack Holder rides for in Poland or who Richard Lawson rides for in the Championship.... I only care about when they ride for my team. It's irrelevant to me who else they ride for, when and who with elsewhere. Speedway is still very much a team sport in my eyes.
-
This is by far your best post ever on this forum. Any ideas about trying to move British Speedway forward that incorporate doing away with team events would be the end for me. I support Somerset Speedway team... Not a load of pointless irrelevant races at Somerset as the previous poster suggested all in the name of a jolly good day out! Team Speedway isn't the problem - how it's executed, is though....
-
According to who? Whilst I don't always agree with some of your views at all, it seems utter madness that teams would ban somebody because they don't sing from the merry band of men hymn sheet.
-
SAY WE ARE, WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE! Only half way through the season but a great achievement, especially to go and win at Wolves! Not bad for a team that 'isn't decent' either! Get on you Rebels!

I'm sure they can more than have a say - They just can't vote.
