I think this is a real concern for Birmingham and it’s very clear the team has been together with signings confirmed and announced before a full line up is complete - meaning it’s very likely they will come in well under the points limit. The final signings simply need to be Artem Laguta and Piotr Pawlicki if they are to stand any chance of being competitive and winning home matches. Laguta will be just fine at home after a match or two and there is every chance Pawlicki could bring his usual Swedish form with him. Anybody else and they are likely to be getting beat all over the place and the already dwindling crowds will already be dropping off by the time we head into May.

Ipswich Witches 2024 serious team predictions
Najjer replied to SamKM91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Recuperat from an injury sustained in the GPs last season, so is sitting out the Aussie champs this year. -
Went to various ones at Newport and even the one that was held at Poole too. That was about -15 degrees. Somerset went to hold one too but was postponed if memory serves me right?
-
This is the way I seen it too. Laguta was given a free pass for several away matches like away to Wolves, to save the air fares and Buster’s wallet
-
I’m not so sure it had anything to do with Wroclaw - that’s backed up by Bewley, Woffinden and now Janowski all signing over here for this season. Laguta might not be a massively reliable number 1 but I would take him scoring a stack load at home over a Matej Zagar type rider any day of the week.
-
Thats not always strictly true - especially in Lindback’s case. He has signed for Landshut in the Polish league but they are actually a German side. It’s all relevant to where they can fly into in Sweden too. It might well be possible but the rider themself might not want to travel from Sweden, to Germany/Poland, to the UK and then back to Sweden before returning to their base.
-
Thats nonsense though. Football clubs are trying to house 30-60,000 depending on which stadium and team it is. Speedway teams are looking to park up around 1,000 people at the very max, so probably 750 cars maybe. It’s not asking alot for them to provide some sort of service, area or deal to make that viable and clear for their customers.

Promotors just can’t help themselves, can they? Almost bragging and wanting a pat on the back to say well done about how much you’ve spent - yet all this does is just show utter incompetence of how he’s spent that money. Poor sides assembled, poor results attained, poor management and worst of all, so far absolutely nothing to entice large numbers of fans (new and old) through the turnstiles - that is the biggest mistake of all. I really hope 2024 and beyond is successful for Birmingham as it could (and should) have the makings of being a very successful speedway team with a decent stadium and facility and big numbers of surrounding areas to tap into for speedway fans but you can’t help but feel it’s got a common theme to it with other previous owners and clubs dotted round the country.
-
I’ll eat my hat if he scores double figures most matches. You’re seriously over rating him if you think that’ll happen.
-
What exactly does Chapman actually own - what precisely is Peterborough Speedway’s assets? I don’t mean rider value either as that is worthless. Possibly an air fence, some starting tapes and possible track equipment? The fact that under British Speedway laws somebody could hold a promotors license and therefore hold potential owners or people willing to run a Peterborough affiliated outfit to ransom absolutely stinks. The same scenario became apparent at Somerset, at Newport in the past and many other places too.

Consistent wane? Have a day off. Shamek has just had a fabulous season in Poland where he was almost unbeatable in the Polish second tier in the first half of the season, before injury but still ultimately leading ZG to the league title. He had a great season in Sweden and performed well in individual comps too, only just missing out on the GPs for next year.
-
Anybody with an ounce of Polish speedway knowledge knew/knows how good Tarasenko is. Anybody who didn’t rate him was missing a trick as he is a quality speedway rider.
-
If you’ve followed Polish speedway for the last few seasons, you’ll see that Wiktor isn’t on the up at all. Almost the opposite. He looked so promising a few years back and looked like he could be set for a massive breakthrough - but has rather stalled and if anything gone backwards. He’s abit awkward on the bike and not a naturally fluid rider but he still has potential.

King’s Lynn 2024 serious team predictions
Najjer replied to SamKM91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Out of interest, is it Buster who is still financing Kings Lynn speedway or is there somebody else involved now funds wise? ps. I think this is a great looking side, especially at home. -
What the F is Buster on. Bloody embarrassing. Why is he always having a sulk after an event instead of being honest at the time? I really feel for Peterborough having lost my own team before but Buster is basically a liability to any speedway team

Higher levels of testosterone - resulting in greater body endurance
-
That is an interesting one - I wonder why not? Paul Pogba in football has failed a recent drugs test and straight away it’s been reported what he’s taken and what it the effects can be.

Peterborough -8 tonight for me

That’s 1 too many and 1 more than it should be for a ‘professional sport’ -

Considering the number of failures already this season alone, they probably aren’t turning up enough! -
To make £12 what sort of stakes are you laying for that? You must of had a large amount on the exact score vs the under points total - so much so, that if the unders came in you’d of been throwing a large amount on the exact score away.
-
It’s interesting the Holder-bashing too - he is well out of form in Poland and it’s pretty clear that he isn’t able to mix it at the top table like he did when he was world champion, however… it was only last year when he was flying for Ostrow for much of the year. He is without doubt a confidence based rider so if he can start off well then he might do okay…. Assuming the track isn’t wet
-
Nonsense - it’s sport and it’s a competition. Sheffield have made changes to make sure they are as competitive as they deem that they can be. That goes for any job in the UK. If somebody isn’t performing as they should, they don’t have a god given right to keep that job over a foreigner because of their nationality. That is irrelevant if they aren’t meeting the required standards.

Does UK speedway need a new televised product?
Najjer replied to truthsayer's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
In addition to what you have said, even the Poles don’t support individual events other than the main Polish Championship. Anything that isnt their team they aren’t interested. I watched one of the events at Poznan earlier this year and Buxton probably got bigger crowds than that one. -
With some of the decisions made and resulting outcomes, you had me fooled….
