  1. Riders are being signed and yet the “rising star” list is already a great mystery for the fans expected to part with their cash to see these riders. Why the big secrecy all the time??
  2. Another utter shambles. Draft fixtures or not, if only the BSPL had been transparent after the AGM and made an announcement to say fixtures would be released once confirmed.... why do they have to wait until a cock up has been made and then try to cover their tracks?
  3. There used to be full second halves at Somerset too going around 12/13 years or so. We used to have proper 6 heat matches nearly every week. I would say less than half the crowd used to stay behind, maybe even a quarter. I believe it ended up stopping as the riders became a constant problem with constant withdrawals at the last minute and endless amounts of rebookings.
  4. Brady has a team spot in Poland so should be coming back over to take his team place over there. Whether or not he has to base himself over there again or is then allowed to fly in and out between Poland and Britain without isolation and quarantine remains to be seen.
  5. Again, how hard is it to put a statement out that the fixtures have been delayed due to the possible inclusion of Plymouth? That way then, there is no mystery, no secrets and everybody knows the score. It’s just so poor on so many accounts.
  6. It’s all an absolute nonsense. A good idea ruined by a stupid grading system. Surely averages can’t be used for determining grades, otherwise, why not just use averages and forget grades? There should just be a group of “British juniors” and any team should be able to sign whoever they wish without averages or grades dictating that.
  7. Why is it always so difficult? How about saying... ”It is our intention to get the fixtures released as soon as possible. Due to rider availability and potential team changes within certain teams this might not be able to be confirmed right away. As soon as these are confirmed we will keep you updated right away.” Why are they so incompetent at just the most basic of basic communication? Don’t make broken promises and treat your paying customers like absolute morons.
  8. Other than tying them with some rope to their seat, how do you make sure someone stays in their allocated seat anyway? Speedway stadiums are more than capable of people going in and being socially distanced safely.
  9. As others have already commented, that is incorrect. There may be a maximum restriction but that isn’t likely to effect speedway attendances I wouldn’t of thought.
  10. I quite agree - but not if it means the team won’t be there next season.
  11. Shouldn’t that be no.1 priority at all times? A winning team is a bonus on top of that.
  12. From Championship racing pretty much yes - as I would imagine it would be hard to accommodate his Friday or Sunday league commitments in Poland vs the away tracks in the Championship.
  13. I know he rides for a German team in the Polish League, but does he not actually ride in the German league too? Edit - Think it appears he doesn’t...
  14. Potentially add a condition where nobody over an average of 6 or something can be included. This then begs the next question, what happens this year if say Drew Kemp rides at reserve and averages 7+? Is he just going to hung out to dry mid season like Boxall and Armstrong were when this was previously trialled? Something will need to be in place.
  15. I’ve thought about this and I think it’s a classic case of British Speedway over complicating things. Why have all this graded nonsense? Why not just say the no.7 is designated to British U24 riders and have done with it? Teams can pick their riders to suit no matter how good or bad they do, taking the lead from Poland in this respect. The intentions are very good but the execution is just missing in my opinion. Some may argue that could open up a bidding war for the best riders but that is likely to happen even with gradings come next year. The whole grading system just opens up such unneeded debates where teams will try and screw each other over by insisting their riders should be graded lower and opposing riders graded higher... we’ve been here before with that!
  16. You’ve answered your own question there... if hospitality is due to reopen in May then surely Speedway in an outdoor environment beginning in May seems reasonable?
  17. Grajczonek is on a Polish license so could well compete with Gala for a starting position.
  18. I love that Len has introduced Hurry as a former under 21 champion
  19. So we had to wait over a week because the BSPL had a big announcement to make via their media partners Eurosport... who managed to muster up a paragraph and a half in that time? Talk about an anti climax. Was hoping for some form of streaming service to be announced as had been rumoured but nothing of the sort. It’s good news that British Youth riders are now being a minimum requirement in every team though, that’s a good move. I just hope that teams don’t now try and wrangle it to end up with dodgy Australian’s at reserve who has a long lost auntie with British heritage and sneak in that way. Likewise, I hope they don’t sack it off mid season like they did with this exact same process about 15 years ago, when Boxall and Armstrong (god knows why he was included from the beginning but that’s another story) performed above what was expected and were forced into the main body of each team. If teams pick up some young riders who are blinders and perform above the expected then that is only great news and they shouldn’t be punished for it. The next argument will come next year when teams want certain riders downgraded to fit into their team or opposing riders upgraded... we can only hope not!
  20. Both the same person - Bill Hancock (Debbie Hancock’s dad).
  21. The land that is currently being developed is alongside but not including the current speedway car park and track - This land is what used to be the overflow car park that was used for league meetings and usually full for the Pairs. Edited: Spelling
  22. https://www.burnham-on-sea.com/news/new-14-6-acre-business-park-in-highbridge-set-to-bring-jobs-boost-to-the-town/ Talk about bad timing with this being released by the local press within a week of the speedway team pulling out of the league
