As it turned out, after the rain, the track was superb tonight and possibly the best racing ever served up a Pairs event. I thoroughully enjoyed my night - Summers, Screen and Robson the stand out riders. Well done Glasgeee

Oh dear - classic dose of facepalm. You failed to mention that I also stated it was a dire line up at Somerset, which would of resulted in a long drawn out affair and that I WOULDN'T of been attending. Time you did your market research then - that's a pretty short sighted view that you think people will support it because 'speedway is speedway'. The simple answer is that they won't, as the majority of people would much rather see a team event. It's been mentioned time after time, people would rather watch a league meeting between any two sides rather than a pointless individual meeting.

Certainly won't be Sanchez - think he's had 6 rides here this year and failed to score a point.

I think I'm right in saying, it was held on occasions the night before the GP at Cardiff. Used to be quite a star studded line up, with Sam Ermolenko riding and breaking the track record in 2002 from memory.

Not one bit - you're entitled to your opinion regardless of whether I think it's right or wrong. Weather prior to an event can have such a massive bearing on how a track will stand up, but 23 races is quite alot. It started to slicken off some time after heat 15 really, which of course, is the usual amount of heats required for a league meeting.

Track slickens off after 22 heats - shock horror Give over... they shook hands after, don't make an issue out of nothing.

Clearly it must be, as you failed to give that answer in the numerous replies that you made to me in this thread. The answer for a 12 rider format as confirmed by 'Main Man' is due to lack of rider availability, otherwise I'm assuming it would be a 16 rider format. I do find it hard to believe there are only 10 riders from this Country that want to/can ride in the NYC, but if that's the official reason, then fair enough and I wish them all the success in running the event.

You missed the point - I know exactly what 'more often than not' means, I was just stating how the Malletts used this format previously and it now seems strange to adopt a worse format for the meeting. I wanted to know why a 12 rider format was used, as oppose to the much more used and common 16 rider format - That is all. I'll take it that was aimed at me - I havn't whinged at anything. I asked a simple question, which no one has answered yet. At least RocketBen earlier in the thread took my post as it was intended.
