  1. Just proves as we said previously, what a stupid system it really is.
  2. Come off it - You don't get given a good reputation over night, you have to earn it. You only have to look at the World of Football to see the hurls of abuse that get thrown around after a bad performance or few. Steve Kean at Blackburn has been slated like no tomorrow, do you believe he'd lose any sleep over a dozen people calling him 'crap'? No, it just spurs him on as proven with their results yesterday. If he (or any professional sportsman) can't take criticism or the like for poor performance past or present, they shouldn't be a sportsman.
  3. Holder at no4? Jeez, I hope you don't put Werner at no3 It's a shame really for James as he will never be a World Champion or get remotely close, and has to constantly live in his younger brother's shadow - and it seems Plymouth have already fallen for the 'Chris Holder is his brother' trick, so James must be really good... mounting the pressure on him right from the get-go.
  4. Don't you remember Vasey and co messed it all up at Stoke that year? Taylor Poole's average mid season being the most memorable.
  5. Over the past few years, its been common knowledge a whole host of clubs have tried to sign him in the PL - but Im led to believe his wage demands were far greater than his ability.
  6. This thread has turned into a classic. Low and behold Brent Werner is announced, before pulling out only 4 hours later, and Newport are on the blower to 'top engine tuner' Ashley Holloway.. and end up with Mark Lemon as a replacement Add in the fact another 'hot shot' who we've never heard of is in the event, along with the usual traditional clan. You just couldn't script it.. Mainman, I salute you Pwahaha
  7. You only live once. I'm sure it will be constructive and add excitement to Rogers' mass debate on this isssue.
  8. You couldn't get any further away from the end of the season Out of interest, why didn't Poole have this problem when they held the event? Their line up was exceptional.
  9. The only question marks are over which useless foreign 'star to be' Rogers brings over this year.
  10. Leigh Lanham, Brent Werner, Adam Roynon and Ben Barker. Just for a change...
  11. Aye, superb race, and a superb ride. Shame that was about the only ride that he scored any points in for us, before retiring after a hand full of meetings after averaging about 2.00.
  12. My favourite speedway quote this is, always brings a smile to my face. James Holder Plymouth bound too? He fits that bill.
  13. No it doesn't at all - It reveals 6 of the riders being spoken to with a view to a team place. Franchetti has just said he wants to return. Any rider without a team place would be daft to not ring around a few teams and put his name about. He could have said that to every team in the league for all we know.
  14. In that newspaper report, it says nothing of the sort that Gino Franchetti may be signing. He says the rider himself has expressed an interested to return to the team. What, like Mildenhall 2008?
  15. I can see it now.. a 63 year old man in his Redcar wulfsport coat, attacking Lew with a "I love Gary Havelock" programme board. More chance of Jason Lyons winning the PLRC than a mass punch up.
  16. Aye, I believe he was pulled out of the meeting when he guested for Somerset due to his silencer not complying with the rules. The only reason his points weren't deducted that day was because it couldn't be proved when the 'change' to the silencer happened, as I believe it was argued it occured due to an on track collision. Don't quote me on that, but from memory I think that was the situation.
  17. I'd say, yes. On a different note, I believe there have been various checks and protests made already this year. Jerran Hart being one of them, whilst guesting for Somerset and once when riding for Ipswich.
  18. What a bizarre, and somewhat inept comment that is.
  19. Aye, quite agreed - I'll go to Leicester for the League meeting later in the year I expect, but with the team we have out for this and the price to get in I decided to give it a miss. There's more chance of Amy Winehouse delivering me breakfast in bed than there is of us even getting on the podium.
  20. Which does seems abit pointless, that a Southern group would take place and Somerset/Plymouth wouldn't welcome eachother to the other places track, sort of ruining the object.
