  1. I'm all for it, if I feel they deserve it as oppose to just being given a chance "he's British". So bloody what. Somerset now have three young Brits in the team, all of whom deserve to be there because of the progress they have made in the sport in recent years, which will hopefully continue. I haven't ever seen Joe Jacobs ride but if he's that talented then he won't struggle to pick up a club anywhere, because of his ability though and not because of his Nationality.
  2. Think you will find both Perry and Newman have ridden more meetings for Somerset, than they have for the clubs that hold their contracts. Ie Wolves and Poole.
  3. When he came over, he came over with British patriality much the same Todd Kurtz, and like his younger brother is doing as well as Dakota North. Yet, I'm sure if you asked any of them where their loyalties lie they will very much say it isn't that in this part of the globe!
  4. You could of just said that was all part of the joke.. but you've blown that one!
  5. So sign over half a team because there is a strong possibility they will drop their averages and allow for strengthening up to be made? Why not just sign a decent team to start off with?
  6. Not strictly true that starshooter. Somerset did their part with a so-called 'letter of intent' I believe, which Nathan signed. If he failed to stick to that agreement, there isn't much Somerset can do about it.
  7. That post could be argued you were defending my good looks... Probably wouldn't be much worse than some of the duffers Sheffield have signed so far.
  8. Which category does Simon Lambert fall into? I think most Rye fans are aggrieved at the 'final' signing knowing full well it could of been a hell of a lot better had Len used the points available.
  9. Where have I gave you 'critisum' ? Christmas cheer is alive and kicking it seems Most people will be able to point me out at the track when I'm there, I had my picture in the programme for a couple of years so can't be that difficult.
  10. I'm also assuming, with Nick Morris and Jason Doyle at Somerset, if there was a clash in dates it would leave Swindon pretty vulnerable.
  11. I wouldn't wish Sitera on anyone - amazing how within the space of a few years he went from being hot property to completely useless.
  12. I remember that - one of them he fell when going full tilt on a tactical ride. The second time though, he collided with Jason Doyle from memory. His away form for Somerset after his injuries were a concern, but he's the type of rider who doesn't take no $hit and will always mix it. When in full flight, he can be superb.
  13. If they aren't willing to do it, they could always go and find another job. This is what their job is and they are expected to fill a certain role in whatever their position is, much like I am in my job.
  14. Do expand on this OT.... See DaveT's post in the Christmas Cracker thread - Haines, Tully, Sneddon and of course Claus finish the line up. Sadly too many injuries cost Claus, which started to reflect in his away scores too. More disapointted that there is no sign of Monberg, who was superb for us last year.
  15. Morris now added too. Rumours are he had STDs too.
  16. He's a professional speedway rider, who used to ride for Glasgow.. who has now signed for Somerset. Hope this helps.
  17. He hasn't ridden for anyone since I think it was 2009, when he was at Somerset
  18. James is one of the most frustrating riders I have ever watched. Not only was he inconsistant from week to week, he was inconsistant from race to race. He's the sort of rider where he would blast round the boards and pass the oppositions number 1, and then in his next race go round hugging the white line running a distant last place behind their number 7. Could be spectacular, but could be a massive let done, especially when the pressure was on.
  19. Damn it, that's where we've been going wrong... why didn't someone say sooner?
