Somerset V Ipswich Friday 23rd August
Najjer replied to oldtimer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That's a poor show - these were the headline acts, and in their one race alone on Friday, that shown why. Poor decision I'm afraid to go on that date. -

No complacency allowed in this one. Need to do a professional job. I'm Gary is well up for it. Need to Alex to have resolved his engine... errr.. frame.. or was it engine? Ermmm bike problem from Saturday. Think that's all the bases covered -

You've been listening to Starman too much if you think finishing second is winning. -

Probably the most sensible thing you've ever said. -

A good result yet again for the Rebels, seems like Alex winning heat 14 and the big'uns coming good at the end won us this one. Excellent weekends work though and another 7 points to the original collection. -

I have no idea what you are going on about, you sound like you have even managed to confuse yourself. -

To be fair, there's more than just one person who thinks you post complete dross. -

Do you even know what you're arguing? I'm the one who has been defending Alex you buffoon. -

Mark Loram didn't say that at all - he said he needs to improve on the smaller tracks, which ironically Berwick is not. He proved what he can do at Plymouth on a small track. I'm sorry OT (and RebelRebel for that matter) but you are way out of line with your comments here. -

Someone's taught you how to copy and paste now then? Garry would be proud, I'm sure. -

What recent problems? The guy is probably in the form of his life, near enough untouchable at home and as I said on the other thread was our best rider on show at Plymouth last week. You and RebelRebel are unbelievable, one bad meeting at Edunburgh and he's having "a bad period" - give me a break. Shame to deal with these ridiculous posts first, but great result for the Rebels in another crushing win away from home. Our record of scoring no less than 41 continues and hopefully that turns into another win at Glasgow today. -

What a load of rubbish you speak - I'm presuming you have forgotten that only just last weekend Alex was sublime at Plymouth and was leading heat 15 to win us the match when the race was stopped. Completely out of order and short sighted comment. We didn't expect anything from this match, but came up just short again by a point. Great result for when the play offs come around, as with our current home we're going to be league champions. Armadale is a tricky ol' track from when I have been there before, so we can't be disappointed - and go on and win at Berwick and Glasgow now. -
In your deluded world maybe...

Absolutely - but I was referring to the play offs, where you can finish 6th and win the League title because of your ability to keep scorelines close away from home.
-
Likewise Somerset - unlike Newcastle though, we've not lost anywhere by more than 8 points yet and scored a minimum of 41 points wherever we have been. Bar the slip up against Edinburgh, our form this season has been incredible up until now - we look untouchable at home now with the form of our top 4 and with our ability to keep the score close or win away, that is why we look massive contenders when the play offs come around.

Plymouth Devils V Somerset Cases Rebels 10/8/13
Najjer replied to Starman2006's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Fair play to him mind - the Rebels solely focused on blocking out Lemon on the first turn and Anderson just went round the outside of everybody. Another good 2 points, an enjoyable evening and the best race I've ever seen at Plymouth to finish things off in heat 15 - good stuff. -

Josh will be riding for Somerset, as he only signed for Poole a matter of weeks ago. This should be a thrashing of epic proportions. Compton was dire for Glasgow here a few weeks back, and whilst Jorgensen normally goes well here, he is by no means a number 1. Ricky Wells could beat a few but there's a good chance of the top 4 going unbeaten yet again here. 60+ for the Rebels. -
Would be a much fairer system on the team that wins the League, I agree. For what it's worth and the team that wins the league, they should have no problems winning a few more meetings to win the play offs too.
-
Exactly - last season typifies why the play offs are so great, the League title went down to the very last race of the season.

Looking forward to seeing Bech and Jensen around the OTA but like Cliffe said, this should be comfortable with the Rebels taking the win by 15 points or so. The form of our top 4 is immaculate at the moment, this should be a mere warm up for tomorrows meeting which is far more important. -
Rusty was completely pathetic all night, trailed a mile round at the back in his first 3 races and didn't even bother to cross the line and pulled into the pits early in all of these before making a go of heat 13. To be fair to him though, he wasn't the only one. Richard Lawson completely uninterested, Aarnio and Bach had their few moments and only Kyle Howarth came away with any real credit. It could be said the Comets were made to look even worse due to such a strong Rebels display - one of our worst riders on display was Doyley, how often is that said? And even then he was paid for double figures. Kyle once again very solid, whilst the reserves chipped in where they needed to. The other three were simply sensational, Morris and Davies were in a different league and out of sight every time by the time they exited bend 2. A class above anybody on show.
