Which Team Will Be The First To Drop A Draft Pick ?
Najjer replied to speedibee's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He is so far out of his depth, even at Premier League level. -
Talk about clutching at straws.....

Somerset V Plymouth 18th April

Some fair points in there Mikey and two observations for you - the Olly Allen one it is impossible to see the white line on turns 2 and 3 from the refs box so I would say it's hardly surprising he missed that. I can think of numerous times it's happened in the past, not that it makes it right. Whilst on the subject of crossing the line, what an idiot too the referee was putting the red line on to exclude Charles Wright mid race, and both Starke and Reade started to slow when crossing the start line to then realise the red lights weren't actually on - hence why it then got turned off. With regards the start tapes, this is the 3rd week on the bounce we've had issues with them going up lop sided. -

To be fair to SteveBrum this time, he's actually made a point and given reasons to back up his point that he believes Swindon are a poor side. From seeing them this morning, I can't disagree with what he has said either. -

Two of the most ridiculous refereeing decisions you are ever likely to witness tonight - first of all it being announced that Katajisto had missed the two minutes in heat 14 when his bike conked out for the second time when at the tapes and returning to the pits, only for the two minutes to go on and then be told this was the original two minutes that went on... surely this is common practice for a referee to put the two minutes on before a race? Effectively gave Katajisto an extra two minutes to prepare for the race, when he should of been excluded for missing what should of been the original two minutes. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, Jensen goes down in a heap coming out of bend 2 as if he had been snipered from the clubhouse patio and stays down when it was clear he was going to be one the excluded, and rightfully was. However, as the time of the stoppage the other 3 riders had just entered the final lap with Allen gaining tremendous speed around the outside and Vissing having a decent run up the inside too. Not only did Ronnie Allan award the race and put an end to what was going to be a great final lap but with the result of the race still very much in doubt where any one of the three could of won it, especially with the match still in the balance, to award that seems absolutely ludicrous. Special mention for Matt Wethers however who was superb value tonight - cracking ride in heat 13 to come from the back to pass Vissing inside and then Allen outside. -

With Matt Wethers at no1 we should hit 60 tonight. -

Well because Darcy says there wasn't any overtaking that must be right - or more to the point, seen as he was calling for Smolinski to get a 'yellow card' for his move in the GP the other week I don't see him slating Milik for his move on Pawlicki. Near enough exact carbon copies and IMO just one of those incidents where Milik (or Smolinski) can't be blamed as it was just one of them things, but double standards from Darcy perhaps. Anyway, for the meeting itself I thoroughully enjoyed that and anyone who said there wasn't any passing/racing is talking complete rubbish - Batchelor was usually involved in the thick of it and was good value, his race with Holder and then Grajczonek where they passed and repassed being his highlights. Janowski very good value after two poor opening rides but his team riding with Milik whilst Kildemand tried everything to get through and then passing Kildemand in heat 13 too. These were just the highlights and there was plenty of other passes too and as it turned out, a great one for the neutral. I'd be massively disapointted if I was a Swindon fan who travelled to watch their team ride like that though - Kildemand was always in the mix but couldn't get out the gate for love nor money. Klindt was about as poor as any other time I've seen him, how was this rider once 'the next big thing'? Batchelor as mentioned was always in the mix and good value and Gustafsson was average. The biggest surprise was Nick Morris who I have never seen ride so badly - from Somerset's point of view it's a good job he's riding for Swindon tonight as he was terrible today. Greenwood had a very nasty get off in his final ride and Worrall was again average at best. Poole look a great side though especially at home and a very strong top 5 if Grajczonek can continue to ride for them like that. Charles done what was needed and more at reserve which was great to see at this level. Overall, good match and really enjoyed it. -

Matter of fact, I'm now already in Poole - I'll be disapointted when I get to the track if the red carpet hasn't been prepared. -

As a Somerset fan who is making the trip down, I look forward to him hopefully piling up the points like he has been for Somerset everywhere this year. -
I think there's a reason he's never done two seasons on the trot for anyone in this country. Somerset and Ipswich didn't have him back after his first season with them, and he left Newcastle and Glasgow after a season too. Wasn't good enough at the time and still isn't now for Elite League.
-
I don't know what you expected from him - he's been in decline for a few years now and nowhere near the force he used to be when he was at Kings Lynn. With him riding at number 1 too, was never going to help his cause.

He flew out the gate in 4 races, and was hopeless when it got abit tight in his other and missed the start. Was Peterborough's stand out rider along with Ostergaard. -
What is special dispensation being given for?

With two former Rockets in the side and Todd Kurtz, Nick Morris and Charles who all scored well for us there last year, aswell as Brady and Starke who have been brilliant so far we must fancy our chances after Rye's defeat last week. Gutted I will be missing this one, thoroughully enjoyed my visit last year. -

One of your more sensible posts - this after the deomolition of Newcastle last week, has the potential to be a thrashing. Bjerre, Ostergaard and Summers are all so up and down at the OTA, and I don't expect Dryml to contribute too much. Throw in the 3 reserves and this should be pretty straight forward for Somerset. -

You should of seen old DB last night, he was seen cheering on Paul Starke who went on to complete a stunning double outside pass... Only to remember himself and where he was, and quickly backtracked to say it was nothing more than "lucky" ;-) Why are you on about Garry May again? We all already know what a good team manager he is, and now a proven promoter. No one has debated that as his record simply speaks for itself. Given the winter we had, I think we would just be chuffed as nuts to make the play offs. -

Rumours are they are going to employ Starman as our cheerleader on a Friday night - all this keep the faith nonscense when he doesn't know half of the history behind our club and the general vibe around the place towards the current side which now Nick Morris is back, is actually very very good. Everyone was buzzing to see Brady in action finally, and jeeeez he didn't disappoint! He's like a machine, pure quality and had to make numerous passes inside and out, his swoop to go from last to 2nd in heat 15 and outside pass on Rosen from memory being the highlights. Nearly breaking the track record in heat 3 too. What a bargain on a 5.00 average! Also a special mention to Paul Starke and Charles Wright who were massive value for entertainment and points last night. It's going to take some beating to top heat 7 as the race of the season. Starke in 3rd place winding it on round the outside, Robson goes round Allen as Starke goes round them both - terrific race and superb effort from Starke. Nick was invincible after his tapes demolition and very impressed by Pontus - i didn't rate his chances much this year but he's been our consistently best rider so far, so fair play to him. Yes they do - this meeting was the Premier Shield
