  1. No it didn't - it looked as bad on paper as what it's turned out to be on track.
  2. No bad taste here 'Devildodger' - Have you seen Proctor's scores for Sheffield? Poor would be a understatement...
  3. Not smug, but was always on the cards with our home form and your team containing riders who rarely ever do well at our place. A couple of people have mentioned Charles Wright already on this thread but he's been something else of late, he looks so quick and scoring massively - long may this continue!!
  4. Even without Aspgren and Allen seemingly not in ideal condition, we should breeze to 60+ here.
  5. Gate positions are usually irrelevant at Somerset as even from the start the ability to pass is evident. We've had some cracking first races in recent weeks so gating is not massively critical. Getting off to a good start tonight however is critical, but with Vissing you should be far too strong.
  6. That wasn't the original statement made - We were told Kus' form has improved this season compared to previous.
  7. If we get off to a good start and it's 20-4 after 4 races then it will certainly pile the pressure on - however being realistic the tie is all but over, but never say never.
  8. If that's not Scunthorpes fault, whose fault was it that Klindt was due to be missing??
  9. What about giving Workington fans any consideration who have perhaps booked time off work and made travel arrangements? To now find out their meeting has been cancelled because the home teams no.1 is missing. Swings and roundabouts OT, as I think that attitude to cancel because your No.1 is missing stinks personally.
  10. Good result albeit somewhat expected, however a massive congratulations to Paul Starke who finally got his maximum, and away from home too - well played.
  11. To be fair, probably a bit of both - even Kennett who started like a train in his first two, got completely stuffed by Allen and then completely outwitted in his next two by Robson and Brady. Rye were woeful - Bunyan, Bowen and Boxall should hang their heads in shame after that. Bunyan finally came to the party in heat 14 but somewhat too late. Other than that he was so poor. Tresarrieu comes away with some credit as at least he fought hard and put on a show, but still points make prizes. There is no way Ipswich will be this poor next week but tonight, Brady, Olly and Pontus a complete different class to anybody else.
  12. Hence the last part of my post, which because we didn't have Pontus, and Worrall will be missing, we are going to struggle to pull back 40 points.
  13. Quite clearly a typo - but don't let that stop you from being as pedantic as ever. Worrall is garbage at Somerset, which puts Ipswich at a massive advantage. Thrown in with Pontus not being to ride last night, it's no wonder Ipswich look set to be in the semi finals. If Pontus had ridden and scored even 5 points we would only need to claw back 30 points or so, especially with Worrall missing, 40 seems too much.
  14. We all knew at the start of the season once we lost Brady at reserve and Jason Doyle too, that we had gone from being dead certs for the League title again to being a decent team - but we never expected to be a team that would recieve a 62-25 hiding in a cup match. If we don't get 7 points from the Rye House matches then it could well be heads start to roll!
  15. It would seem so - without Nick and Pontus, our two best performers on the road this year, could swing the tie in favour of Ipswich.
  16. The quote was that his scores have gone up this year - in which case by now based over 24 meetings which rolling averages are, his average would of risen.
  17. At the same time, if your scores have gone up it's irrelevant what is being dropped off, as they must be lower than what's being scored now.
  18. Give over with regards Olly Allen being dangerous - there is a fine line between being very hard, which there is no doubt Olly is, and being dangerous. The way we saw heat 4 from where we were stood was that it was clear where Olly was heading and Douglas kept going with him, kept going, kept going and eventually went down like a sack of spuds where he realised he had no room. Correct decision, and similar in heat 7 although I can see why Todd would be slightly aggrieved being his team mate. A good showing from Scunthorpe who were a lot better than their score line suggests. Klindt was good value and flew round in his first couple, and both Douglas and Jorgensen mixed it and deserved much more than their tallys suggest. Jorgensen was leading both heat 2 and heat 4 before the red lights coming on and not being able to repeat it in the rerun. What has happened to David Howe and Josh Auty though? Couldn't believe how poor they both were and both seem to have lost their bottle somewhat.
  19. All depends which Scunthorpe team turns up - Auty can be brilliant at the OTA, or absolute garbage, the same as Howe. Jorgensen is normally pretty handy around here too, so if Scunthorpe get off to a good start it could end up pretty close - especially after our rain off last week. Could be a thrashing, could be close... such is the make up of Scunthorpe's team.
  20. Thanks for your concerns, and glad to see our fan base is now stretching out as far as Cumbria. Rebels to hit 60+ again
  21. The run of 60 points continues.... Will Redcar and Sheffield stop us over the next two weeks? I'm struggling to see it!
  22. Step forward Magnus Zetterstrom... Averaged just below 9.50 in his first season and then went on to achieve about 10.30 in his next two seasons.
