  1. Thank you - so the question remains, on what basis is Jack Holder going to get a work permit?
  2. Hasn't Batchelor been quoted as saying he had a two year visa which has effectively been ripped up and he has to start all over again and apply from scratch. Manzares did not achieve the 7.00 required average. Also, it says "in the previous season" - not over 2 years, when referring to achieving the required average. Currently Manzares does not meet the criteria on the BSPA website. Going back to my earlier point about Alex Davies potentially being hard done by - you can add Kozza Smith to that list too. Neither have finished in the top 4 in a state championship in the previous year or achieved a 7.00+ average in 2014 - even though they have done previously. If they are that good and that serious about riding over here, they will have met the requirements that are being expected of them. There is no two ways about it. That is the expectation here.
  3. Then goods riddance quite frankly - how often do we hear "his average will drop so isn't worth a shot" with regards a Brit or European rider, so the Aussies or Americans should be no different. If they aren't good enough then thanks for coming but good bye. The only one who is getting a rough end of the stick is Alex Davies who doesn't meet the requirements that are set - but achieved over a 7 average in his last season here in 2013 but rules are rules.
  4. Top 4 in a State Championship I don't think is an unrealistic target to set people before they come over here. Then the expectation to maintain their 7.00 average once again isn't unrealistic - that's where the existing Aussie(s) and Anerican are going to fall short, or should I say, they should fall short.
  5. I was led to believe they grant the work permits on the say so of the relevant authority (in this case the BSPA) saying they do meet the required criteria - I can name at least 6 that don't meet that criteria.
  6. As they now have to re apply for them, the BSPA (and also the clubs in the first place for that matter!) shouldn't be endorsing any applicants that don't fit the criteria like they have done previously, that was the whole problem. If they do, we've just done the full circle and no one has learnt any lessons.
  7. Where would be the fun in that ;-) I can think of 6, potentially 7, that don't meet the current requirement we are all aware of - unless these have now changed after the "workshop".
  8. I'm not certain that an under 21 event is a recognised event to entitle someone to a work permit.
  9. I'm intrigued after the "workshop" how many Australians will now end up getting their work permits turned down - by my workings out after reading the criteria again there could and should be a few missing out! Interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks.
  10. Did they? He got dropped... Makes you wonder doesn't it. Did he finish in the top 4 in his State championship, or meet the requirement in the National title? I suppose now Plymouth have applied for a license to sign work permit riders they believe he does meet the requirements - but obviously no one will be allowed to wriggle through the system anymore.
  11. Just out of interest, does Jack Holder meet the criteria for obtaining a visa Lewy?
  12. Rye House look a lot better than Berwick - which is a very poor team.
  13. He also says 'unless you went through the small print in detail' - which gives the impression that Edinburgh clearly didn't. How naive is that.
  14. Yet the rule has been quoted from 2014, and Len Silver has confirmed is still in place for 2015, yet you are choosing to just ignore it?
  15. Whilst he may not of been first choice for many, he would still score a lot more than Chapman would - who we are led to believe is an illegal signing anyway.
  16. Why? Neither were close to achieving their averages before injuries. Proctor being allowed to replace Roynon was one of the reasons for the current mess with regards the visas.
  17. Yet to be confirmed but it's been mentioned that he has a British passport, in which case he isn't effected.
  18. I'm led to believe, as mentioned previously, Sheffield dropping Roynon for Proctor last year didn't go down too well either! Probably half the problems that proctor was rumoured to have had previous to doing a deal for Sheffield for this season.
  19. Wasn't Ty Proctor signing for Sheffield in place of Adam Roynon mid season last year, the one that originally rocked the boat? This has been brewing since then, hence the BSPA clamping down on the 5.00 average and not a 7.00. Seems it was a little too late as they were still too lapse in other areas.
  20. I don't think Somerset are effected either.
  21. What's your point? There are Aussies over here for speedway that shouldn't be probably.
  22. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/30945201 It's not just speedway!! Ironic that a foreigner should dictate who is allowed into our country to work!
  23. Interesting that I'm just reading an article about Arsenal attempting to sign a player called Paulista who requires a work permit - which has been refused by the FA as he doesn't meet to required criteria for a work permit. This is a player rated at 6 million pound allegedly. It says the FA act on behalf of the home office, just like the BSPA do - however they dish out work permit willy nilly it seems.
  24. I would assume Somerset remains unaffected, as we're led to believe Grajczonek has a Polish passport and Brady holds a British passport... Although that's not confirmed. Another piece of info here: http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/3925/poole-in-holder-visa-fears
  25. Alot of the Aussies are good enough to be here, and deserve a team place on merit - people like Campton for example, don't.
