So if as they are saying people have resumed on their previous visas, why wasn't Batchelor and Campton able to? Campton had a multi year visa so we are told yet as he had to reapply got told 'no' - so why are others who don't qualify being told yes?
-
Fair enough. Makes you wonder though as he was supposedly practicing illegally the other week, according to reports.
-
So are you telling me that Ty Proctor who would of had a visa with Wolverhampton as his previous sponsor, doesn't now require a new visa seen as he has switched clubs? Right on cue, with no actual substance to add to the topic in question as per normal.

Emphasised by the unusual decision to use the Elite League format - without that they'd have got beat. -
Which was true - if you've been following the goings on with Troy Batchelor you would of seen this, who had to reapply for a new visa. It isn't moaning - it's just where speedway lets itself down so badly. They set rules and then chose to ignore them all the time - not just with regards visas either. They published the rules on their website and then dished out visas that don't comply with the wording to their own requirements. You'd have thought after making such a mess of it previously and getting flagged up by the UKV&I that they would now do everything within their power to make sure they are whiter than white. As we are well aware from previous experience, just because a promoter or the BSPA "says so" doesn't make it right. It's the speedway way of thinking, shove it in the fans faces and they will accept it whether they like it or not.
-
So you're saying Proctor qualified using the old criteria which we've been told by the BSPA is no longer valid?
-
Like people have said, the place was a tip yet for some reason was a brilliant place to go and visit as an away fan. When Reading went back into the PL in 2008 it seemed like we were there near enough every other week, and featured in the last ever league meeting now. We had some great meetings there, Doyle getting the 21 point max and Werner holding off Ostergaard from 15 metres back. Good times.
-
I had you down as a dead cert to read the Daily Echo too!
-
It was more an example that a line has to be drawn somewhere - and that is a 7.00 average in at least 20 meetings the previous season.
-
Ludvig Lindgren last season, a prime example.
-
This sort of arguement always makes me laugh - just because the BSPA (or the government as you have said) say so doesn't make it gospel. You should know from previous experience how many mistakes they've made on this subject before... So why should we take their word all of sudden? They've produced their rules for all to see, and then go back on them a matter of days later.
-
Why bother having a minimum of 20 meetings then, if 14 is good enough to qualify you? The rules they've set (rightly or wrongly) allow for a scenario where a rider can come over, average 12.00 from 19 meetings and then be told the following season "Nah mate" as he didn't ride 20 meetings. This is the same scenario as Justin Sedgmen would of failed to qualify on his 6.99 had he not qualified through the State Championships. I'm not saying the rule is a good rule, but why set rules and then allow them to be broke a couple of days later?
-
It's completely irrelevant for a number of reasons - We are talking about following new rules set out between the BSPA and the UKV&I. Not to mention where Somerset has been used at an example, is one that I haven't defended previously. Unlike the majority of people, I don't think my team that I follow is whiter than white and go into ultra defensive mood when anything bad is mentioned - like yourself for example.
-
All irrelevant, as he signed someone else without Holder ever riding for Somerset.
-
What's the point in having the minimum meetings set to 20, if it isn't going to be used though? Again, not saying I agree with it, but I'm not the one who sets the rules.
-
So what you're saying is, the new rules say the previous season yet it doesn't actually refer to the previous season? The only thing that springs to mind is Brady Kurtz potential dodgy average... last time I checked, doing something once isn't regular.
-
Well you've been pretty vocal up until now - have you got to the bottom yet if your sponsors license is back yet, after thinking your lot never had it taken off them?
-
For what? Absolutely spot on - although we don't know what the 'BSPA recognised state Championships' actually are, especially in the USA. As posted on the Plymouth thread too, is Ryan Fisher now in doubt too?
-
So following rules set out by the governing body is an assumption? I would say it's common sense. Deciding to set new rules and then ignoring them is nothing short of madness.
-
There is no humble pie to digest - as I always said all along that referencing the information presented to us by the BSPA on their website he didn't qualify. What is interesting though - how does Ryan Fisher qualify now? He didn't ride 20 meetings last season and therefore doesn't qualify By ways of his average as his 2013 EL average is too low too - unless he like Holder now qualifies by means of his Championship back home. I'm sure you can confirm Lewy :-)

That's the point isn't it - it did make them better, which is exactly the point... We don't want to make them better! They can do that in their own Country and then when they are good enough they can compete in the higher leagues. You're constantly contradicting yourself. -

Exactly the reason they shouldn't be allowed in the National League - a League designed to develop BRITISH riders You are now using Starman logic where you start argueing against yourself. -
Hope they weren't under the influence ;-)
