  1. Is this the same person who couldn't make it work at Peterborough in the PL and losing money by the week in the NL at Coventry? I'm beginning to wonder if it's not which League he's in, or the location of the team, but something else.....
  2. Whilst everyone is entitled to an opinion, whether it's positive or negative - I'm to understand how anybody could of left the stadium last night with anything to moan about. After the shambles on sky this week, it's a travesty that Somerset aren't as far as I'm aware being shown on the tele this year. What a fantastic meeting, close scoreline which in the end didn't do Rye House justice, and just stunning racing throughout. Heat 13 as everyone has already said, just stunning, Brady's cut back to go between the middle of Kennett and Jakobson was the pick of the bunch. Notable other race mentions for Kennetts 3rd to 1st around Starke and then inside Josh, as well as heat 14 and Kurtz passing Jakobson early on too. Sometimes it's easy to question why you are spending £25 odd quid each week at Speedway, but it's nights like this that make it all worth it. Fantastic. They deserved at least a point. When you look at Kennett only scoring 6 and Jakobson 8, Im scratching my head a little bit as they were fantastic entertainment and worth a lot more than that.
  3. It costs an arm and a leg so reducing heats is a non starter for me. Likewise nobody wants to meeting to drag on with nothing happening, so making riders do 3 on the trot at the end of the night is a bit of a non starter too. The system works perfectly well as it is, and allows also the even-ing out of potentially one group being stronger than the other. The only way the system could be improved is by involving every team, but that isn't really possible.
  4. Just to enthasise Paul Starke's form of late, he got a paid maximum in the EL on Monday night too!
  5. I'd probably suggest this is a good idea for home meetings, as Charles Wright has become a specialist to ride up the air fence whilst Lanham hugs the white line to great effect. Worrall almost gets in the way of Wright who is always supremely quick at the OTA.
  6. Spot on - he was good last week but seemed to have so much more speed this week, and shame he missed out on his maximum.
  7. I was quite enjoying it - Starman proving what a moron he is.
  8. It was just Kerr on his own - Starke was away in front after a stunning ride from the back to pass Kerr up the inside coming out of bend 2 after cutting back. Starke was at least a bike length or two in front when Kerr hit the back straight fence. The score sort of flatters Somerset a bit, as Newcastle hung in there for a long time and just lost it in the last few races it seemed. It does have to be said of Brady had been there it would of been a lot easier though. Stand out riders were Kerr and Starke, and of course Leigh Lanham again who was brilliant once again. What a revelation. Worrall needs to up his game though who was poor again.
  9. The racing has been as good as it has ever been over the last few weeks I reckon, although Brady has played a massive part of that so him missing is abit of a bummer.
  10. No Brady and a patched up Newcastle side - Can't see many in attendance for this one :-(
  11. Good team management I would say - Starke's confidence must be sky high after yesterday now! I've been at the OTA more times on a Friday than Benji, and I couldn't do much worse - so I'm available if needs be!
  12. Don't forget either that Worrall has been pretty poor so far this season for us, so the hope is once he gets going to the level of previous seasons we will become even stronger. A half decent no.7 and we're laughing!
  13. I think personally he could have a jet engine in his bike, but if he doesn't have the style to ride our track he will never be of any use to us. He just doesn't look at all comfortable.
  14. I think Charles Wright race with Barker has to go down as the race of the season so far.
  15. They must of been trying to save some penny's, to cover the costs of the recovery truck for Ashley Mo.... Oh no hang on, wait
  16. You mean you weren't in the loop on this one? Bless...
  17. Hardly - he just has to ride in the State Championships in the winter and meet the correct criteria, this time.
  18. Entertainment all day long - if there was no entertainment, there would be no fans. Riders will have to like it or lump it, they're riding for a wage so they can't just walk away... Like the fan on the terraces can.
  19. What makes it even worse, is that somebody said earlier in the thread that Sheffield were singled out for praise at the start of the year for their understanding of the visa workings, apparently - looks like they have egg on their faces now.
  20. Whether he/she was or wasn't - their post isn't too far off how tonight went!
  21. He wasn't - he was crap. So was Doolan and Stichauer. Gone are the days it seems when Barker and Doolan would come to Somerset as top dogs, Doolan especially looked clueless and Barker desperate. Hall was the pick of Berwick riders who put in the most effort, Vissing and Jorgensen put it about but not in the same league as Brady Kurtz who won every race by a quarter of a lap at least. Although Berwick started well, their score of 32 flatters them somewhat, after a mighty display from the Rebels.
