  1. Howarth is a Workington asset I believe, so his Premier League fixtures take priority over his Wolves ones. However, as has already been said, Holder is a much better option out of the two.
  2. As has been posted, it's not surprising especially given how many Fridays he would likely miss. It's one thing missing away meetings but to miss so many home meetings would put a lot of people off I expect. I also read he is likely to have a Polish team so again, that rules him out of the PL I would of thought. Sam Masters anyone??
  3. Absolutely - but you could argue its worth sacrificing your "first" reserve of you have a decent NL reserve and ensure you have a stronger 5. Think that's the way I would plump if you have the best no.7 in the league. All ifs and buts though!
  4. Is it though? Now there are two heats that are protected for the NL reserve, it might not be too much of an advantage at all.
  5. Nick has signed for Torun in Poland, so won't be available for any sunday away tracks so won't be any good to us - plus will end up missing more fixtures due to his Elite clashes no doubt.
  6. Probably not too far away, with either Heeps who rides the OTA very well and Jensen filling the last second string position. I'd expect Zack Waj to be the final member of the team regardless of the other 6.
  7. He didn't leave on particularly good terms when he was dropped before the play offs a few years ago, and then his visa issues the year after too - all is forgiven hopefully now though.
  8. Back to team building, a team of Kurtz, Masters, Worrall, Aspegren, Starke and Zak Wajwhathisface with 1 space to fill looks quite good to me! Could be a toss up between Worrall and Wright - Wright will give you much more entertainment and is superb to watch at the OTA, but Worrall will put more on his average and give you more away from home.
  9. Robin Aspegren to be the first signing? Throw in Starke and Zack Wajwhathisface and that is a half decent start at the bottom end of the team.
  10. Lets be honest too, a PL team manager's job was pretty easy and very limited at the best of times - now he can't swap his reserves in heat 4 it is even more limited.
  11. Well I for one am disapointted - I was hoping for some sort of radical new League structure with the EL and PL combining and losing the clubs to a new National League who couldn't make last season pay. I even thought some teams may have taken the plunge into the EL, Somerset included which is a little disapointting. Onwards and upwards as they say... Rider replacement would be my first signing of 2016!
  12. "Been this way for the past couple of years at least" - say no more. He hasn't got any better because for him to get better he needed to start riding abroad.
  13. Because he's struggled to adapt to the Oak Tree, even now he doesn't look really comfortable on home shale. His away form has been good though. Finally getting to grips with that will enhance him as a rider. Riding at Newvastle, a track we all know he can score double figures on week in week out with his eyes shut won't make him a better rider. Just look at Craig Cook.
  14. If he wants to 'make it' in the sport, he will still be at Somerset next season.
  15. I think the play offs are a brilliant idea, but this does empthasise that 6 teams qualifying for the play offs with a 'Semi Final' round is absolute nonsence - too many fixtures and not enough dates.
  16. Didn't seem to bother them last night, Kennett and Lambert apart!
  17. I don't think he did, but ironically, isn't that when his season ended when he crashed in Poland and ended up missing the play offs?
  18. In fairness to Barker, in the 3 (from memory) appearances at the OTA this season, this was by far his best. Two classic races with Worrall, as Kelv would say "proper speedway".
  19. The reply of someone whose made themselves look like a right tool.
