  1. What's strange about that? Some people have to get home and I can't imagine their first port of call is to rush onto the BSF. For what it's worth, complete farcical ending with Plymouth not wanting to ride and Somerset gifted a 5-1 to get the 10 point advantage they need for a 3 point win tomorrow. As per normal it's the fans who lose out, the usual get to heat 10/11 and call it off. We'd barely had any rain and the track was far from being bad. Whilst at the meeting? Why would anyone follow the meeting they are at on the updates??
  2. Nothing to do with understanding how rules work - I'm just saying that Scunthorpe have been stupid! What would be even better is if Holub goes and signs for someone else on a 3.00 and starts racking up the points!
  3. I said the same - seems beyond stupid if you ask me.
  4. Tungate has been sensational. I've only seen him get beat once in the 3 meetings that I've seen him. When he doesn't make the start it doesn't take him long to hit the front at home! I think from his interview the other week, when asked if he misses the Foxhall track, his straight answer of "no" spoke volumes.
  5. Ben barker at no.1 for Plymouth? Christ, I hope your sake he is better than he was last week as he was nothing short of awful. This should be reletively easy for the Rebels. Saturday will be abit more tricky however!
  6. If so, what a bizarre choice to keep him in the side when he was injured, wait for him to come back and get a 3.00 average... Then sack him! Bizarre IF that's the case.
  7. To be fair, they haven't got much to lose have they? Greenwood has something about him. I'm not entirely sure what, but there is something there.
  8. Don't think there is any worry about Starkey goings the same way that Leigh Lanham did. Lanham did a job last year but Starke is riding like a proper heat leader at the moment home and away. On another note, crossways is a fantastic pub! Cracking carvery too, think it won South West pub of the year or something like that?
  9. It sure is - I'm happy to admit and I don't think I'm alone in this, that I never expected this team to be as good as it's turning out to be. But not only is it just winning, it's probably the most entertaining team I can recall us having and that takes into account the year we had Grajczonek, Doyle and Morris too.
  10. Minimum last places again from the top 6 again too. As you said, the run goes oooooon!
  11. Impressive from the Rebels again, in the next round with 3 races to spare courtesy of Charles Wright's win in heat 12 passing Hansen....
  12. I'd agree to that - it added to the whole excitement of the match and creates the whole pantomime villain situation. You could imagine if sky were there Nige and Kelv wouldn't of been able to contain themselves! I did notice that when Starke did a very similar move in heat 15 to Lawson that Tungate had done, he was abit more accepting that time around Great photos as always mate.
  13. Well the rebels will be coming north full of confidence after tonight's victory - Could be a close one on aggregate this one!
  14. Well people said this match should have been on sky - and it's a crying shame that it wasn't. What a meeting this was. It literally had everything. Fantastic racing, a close score line or 2/3 of the match, handbags from Lawson and then heat 15 which will probably go down as the race of the season even this early in the season! Tungate, Starke and Wilson-Dean were just sensational for Somerset. The 5-1 from Tungate and Wilson-Dean when they both passed Lawson was top drawer and the real match changer. Toys out the pram from Lawson in heat 13 when Tungate wound it on and dived under him into turn 1. Classic speedway so I don't know what Lawson's problem was there - especially as he made the same mistake again in heat 15 leaving a big hole on the inside this time for Paul Starke to go from a mile back up the inside of Lawson and run Worrall up to the fence and win in sensational fashion. Last to first. The progress Starke has made from a 3 pointer when we first signed him to world class last to first wins in heat 15 is brilliant to watch. Jake Allen was right on it too. Our top 6 is so solid and the only last place again on the 15 heats for them was Jake Allen in heat 15 when the match was already won. For Glasgow, well, they promised so much at the start and didn't deliver anywhere near that potential come the end. Jesus Christ what has happened to Ben Barker? I have never seen him so poor. His only point was a tussle with Zak. Painfully slow and looking desperate, and then only finished two races. Piss poor from him. Typically Worrall rode better than he ever seemed to for Somerset. Lawson looked fast when he gated, and not so much when he didn't. Spat his dummy out when he got done by Tungate, but that was just hard speedway. Garcia looked like he had something about him in heat 2 and then faded after that. Not much to write home about after that. Very enjoyable night, some top top action! Based on tonight, I wouldn't sign him at no.7 let alone no.1
  15. How that place remains open I don't know. The only thing I can think of is your annual visits! As already stated, Barker didn't score a maximum at Somerset last year although he's usually pretty good.
  16. In the best interests of Peterborough Speedway.
  17. Pathetic. Clear and transparent they said.... Then a member of the management committee pulls that one. Like I said, pathetic.
  18. I'd agree with that - just ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time and unfortunately had to be excluded. If he was half a bike length ahead of where he was he would of had the run to go round them all, but such is life. Still though, I'm more impressed with Wilson-Dean week by week!
  19. He was still an assessed rider at the start of this year.
  20. The one rule that got brought in that everyone was happy with - and at the first chances has been dropped for self benefit. What a joke...
  21. From what I saw last night, he can't pass wind. Very quick when he hit the front and right out on the fence. He barely got near to it when he was behind.
  22. If the decision is overturned, it'll make Godfrey look abit of a tool. And rightly so, like I said earlier the club should be able to run their business as they see fit. Not have the BSPA dictate who they can and can't sign. It'd be like the FA telling a Premiership team in football they can't sign a certain footballer because he's due to go and play in the African cup of nations so will miss matches. That's the choice the team makes. Maybe Peterborough should sign Cook as a 'stop gap' and then just keep him for the season like Edinburgh are now likely to do with Bewley?
  23. To be fair Cliff, Allen's puncture happened after the race that he won. It was when he was leading heat 10 on a clear 5-1 with Grajczonek when his bike started slowing gradually lap by lap to a crawl at the end - and even then he still beat Campton who was very very poor until heat 14. Tungate no doubt would of made a difference but not actually as much as you might think. Howarth scored 5+3 from 3 rides dropping just one point and in the race he touched the tapes the superb Bradley Wilson-Dean won it, so from his 4 rides we only dropped 1 point. It's just a pity that we started quite slow, and was near enough level for the first half of the meeting before pulling away. Grajczonek was brilliant in his final 3 rides, no other way to put it. Wilson-Dean continues to impress too. By the way, is Hansen like a better version of Nicolai Klindt? Cracking style and very quick when leading, and then half hearted when behind. Strange rider.
  24. Where is the rule? Kerr doesn't ride for Kings Lynn because they opted against using him after he had signed for Ipswich, that was the clubs decision.
