  1. Exactly - and if he does that it could prove to be a very shrewd move.
  2. Graversen is starting the season on a 4.00 average - so is 2.00 more than most of the no.7s but not 2.50.
  3. Somerset won the league doing just that last year. Probably very few occasions the no.7 actually took all 4 rides.
  4. It's funny that the signing of Graversen was mocked initially, but people are now saying he's likely to be the best no.7 in the league.
  5. It's not a massive difference at all now, although there is obviously still a reasonable gap. It'll be interesting to see how Somerset get on away at Sheffield soon.
  6. I've often wondered this. When it all came up about the visa issues a couple of years now, about Aussie riders and the doubling up problems, why can they then go and ride for another team in Europe??
  7. An example for a lot of clubs to follow - all matching perfectly with no mish mash of different colours and size logos. Very smart!
  8. I always thought he was pretty garbage at the OTA, although it should suit him. I seem to recall him saying himself before he can't get his head around the place. He's probably just too quick! Nick Morris although he spent a few seasons riding for us still never got to grips with the track completely, so I wouldn't expect miracles from him.
  9. I'd quite agree. One of the biggest draws of Somerset moving into the Premiership is that we now get to see the likes of Chris Holder, Jason Doyle etc etc on a regular basis - Imagine explaining to some newbie that Kings Lynn are at Somerset on Friday with one of the top riders in the world..... Except he isn't actually riding as he's otherwise engaged so can't make it! That will have a knock on effect on the crowd for sure.
  10. To be fair to him, I don't think that's a reasonable arguement as Poole do have Brady Kurtz and Jack Holder in their side - who are in the exact mold of rider SS has spoken about in his opening post. For what it's worth, I have no problem with riders 'using' the British Leagues as a period of development for want of a better term. At Somerset we have had our fair share and it's been great to have Kurtz, Jake Allen, Sam Masters etc in our side when we've bought them over. The problem for me comes when Poland comes a calling and Britain goes onto the back burner. As soon as Poland starts taking priority is the time when I would stop using these riders - regardless of which country they are from.
  11. Certain I read on the GP site that Swindon and Kings Lynn have signed theirs for Doyle and Holder too.
  12. Some time ago now but I recall him coming over one year at press and practice.
  13. I wonder if his biggest downfall now could be how many meetings he will miss due to his Ipswich commitments.
  14. Have you been listening to Middlo again? Reminds me of a comment he made about Darcy Ward and other teenagers.
  15. Kasprzak has ridden at the OTA before anyway, so it's not new to him.
  16. Are you this thick on purpose or is it part of an act? If it's not an act, then words literally fail me....
  17. He was sensational at home and away on the big tracks in the league. Didn't he finish with a home average well over 10?? Interesting.
  18. How did he?? He said he's looking forward to everything! I would assume the same thing - and would start as favourites I would presume.
  19. Just because they are an asset, doesn't mean anything when it comes to team building. Other than getting paid a loan fee (which isn't alot I'm told) then their isn't much of an advantage of having a long list of assets. Somerset have been shrewd in that we have priority for all of our riders this season when I believe only Jake Allen and Paul Starke are actually club assets.
  20. I believe he was still ours - Although happy to stand corrected on that.
  21. Even the team that wins the league, their total team average will drop I'd imagine. Somerset won the league last year and whilst I can't remember the exact figure our team ended on about 47.50 or so. The points limit previously has been 42.50 because that's the average figure every team should be on after 15 heats of speedway. All this about teams won't be able to make changes is nothing short of rubbish. It'll be no different to how it's always been as everyone will then achieve their correct figure and not an inflated one.
  22. Maybe after a few meetings if we haven't got on very well, but not before.
  23. Great news - That explains one of the blank dates at the start of the season!
