  1. That's why I've been involved in marketing for 8 years on a daily basis! It's great to see team(s) embracing things like this and we can only hope other teams follow suit.
  2. Yep that was one of my posts - a great idea and one that a lot of tracks could take on board. It's the sort of thing a sponsor is likely to want to get on board with offering a financial prize at the end of the season to the winner.
  3. Thanks for that - but all of that is irrelevant to the original confusion.
  4. It's a quote of yours replying to Steve Shovlar on a different thread. I have read the posts and that's what is confusing. Glyn says there is no drainage and you're saying there is - you can't both be right.
  5. Starman said there is.... He said: " It does make a difference Steve. We have two drains that go direct to the sea. When the tide is high moisture comes up on the track especially turn 3, when its low it dries out very quick in the summer. its not an old wives tale mate. Ask John Hector and Glyn."
  6. He's started the season in great form too. Really coming of age when you think he was struggling for a team spot in the 2nd division before Somerset picked him up.
  7. You are bang on the money there. Poole are called the 'Pirates' - potentially the best nickname you could have from a marketing point of view. Speedway is an extreme sport and should be seen as being pretty badass, not 'jolly' or anything like that. The Poole logo this season is absolutely dreadful when it could be so good too. Whoever is on the marketing and/or marketing front has done an awful job on that.
  8. Fancy that, Starman not reading a post properly... now who is it that always bangs on about people 'don't read my posts properly'? Hmmmm
  9. We had high hopes for Hougaard last season, maybe too high. It was expected he was going to be our no.1 but quite frankly he was abit rubbish. Whenever he crashes he always seems to get injured too. Some riders are made of solid steel, and others fragile glass. Not very reliable and certainly not sad to see him leave after his no shows in the second half of the season.
  10. Why isn't he riding then Shovlar, if he's the messiah?
  11. Starman is an expert at digging holes for himself!
  12. Kildemand isn't a 28 day signing as cover at all. Holder as of yet hasn't been in a declared line up so Kildemand can't be 'covering' for anyone. With Holder now back up and running in Poland you'd have to assume that either Holder and/or Poole just didn't fancy it at Wolves and Kings Lynn next week.
  13. Not many posts on here make me laugh out loud, but this one did... Bravo
  14. Speedway should be marketed as an extreme sport, not a family sport or anything of the like. When you hear the intro music being described as 'jolly' it really does make you cringe.
  15. Shovlar says could only ride the inside, you say can only ride mid track and Kildemand went from 3rd to 1st around the outside.... come on, which is it?
  16. You couldn't criticise him for his effort in heat 15 last night. He made another stinker of a start (the only decent start he made all night was heat 1) and came from a sizeable back to be all over Andersen and the Pole come the end. With them side by side there was no way through.
  17. Ref had abit of a howler last night! Christ we've only had 2 meetings! That's the sort of post I would come to expect from someone like Shovlar and not yourself! I'm certainly giving him the benefit of the doubt after a big crash in Poland only recently. A very healthy crowd, I arrived just after 7 and they were already in the second car park. Track was good with passing on the inside and outside. Plenty of dirt on it! Think that sums it up pretty well. Newman had Allen off in the first heat before a good race between the two of them in heat 6. Newman seemed to take exception to getting beat and tried to have Allen off again after the race before Allen avoided that and dumped Newman on his ass instead. Karma you could say.
  18. Starman is still showing his mate Glyn how to doctor the track to bring back the bumps for the next meeting! Great performance from Swindon.
  19. That was the way I saw it, but Willowman stood next to me thought BWD binned it. People on the backstraight were up in arms when BWD was excluded so I assumed there was plenty of contact also! If there was contact, another error to go on the ref's list for the evening!
  20. He was very good! Him and Newman were the pick of the lot for Leicester
  21. Well it's been a long old wait, but finally got our first home meeting of the season done and dusted... and very good it was too! Fair to say it had a little bit of everything, the Allen/Newman incidents, including some great races between the two of them, good racing (full marks to the track team for track prep), close scoreline and more importantly a Rebels win. Gets a TEN from LEN!
  22. Perfect weather for it... lovely sunny evening ahead!
