  4. Hello Richard, I have had a polite request to ask if you could change the Lakeside training session on 7th October from "open practice" to "George Barclay Training School" Keep up the good work thanks Rob Couzins Tried to pm you, but you must have full mailbox
  5. Reduced price admission. PR from Jon Cook below Hawks proper send off While all eyes are currently on the build up to the Elite League Play off the Lakeside management have also confirmed that the last meeting involving their joint shared team Hackney v Scunthorpe will revert to the Raceway and will be staged on friday October 7th. This follows the postponement of the meeting which was being kindly staged by Len Silver at Rye House last weekend. Explains Jon Cook "We had asked Len to take the meeting as the support for NL racing has been poor at Lakeside and we also had a situation where the team had, at the time, a great chance to qualify for the Play offs and were more likely to do that at Rye, with us paying for all the meeting costs. However, following the postponement last week the team has now gone past the cut off date and lost its chance of Play Off qualification due to defeat at Stoke the night before. At the same time over the summer the training schools at Arena, run by Linda and George Barclay, have gone from strength to strength and not only represent a great step forward for the club in producing our own riders of the future but also an income that covers the cost of our stadium rental and means we can offer reduced admission for this meeting and can consider our very own third tier Young Hammers team if interest is there from the fans." Continued Cook " As a result and with the considerable help of Rob Godfrey at Scunthorpe we are able to stage the meeting on the 7th with admission at just £8 for Adults and Kids for £1 and both Rob and ourselves will be filling any absent riders with the best trainees at our respective Training Schools giving the meeting a real academy feel. We also want to see the great name of Hackney Hawks out in some style as it deserves that so all ex Hawks and Kestrels will be welcome to attend and we will be giving one of the teams body colours away at the end of the action to the person who is lucky enough to pick up a signed programme. I hope those hammers fans that have stayed away because they didn't like the Hawks moniker will come out and show there is a level of support for us to consider our own team and that Hackney fans take one, perhaps last chance, to make it a date friday at eight". Any riders wishing to take part in the afternoon training school can book by calling Linda on 020 8592 3361, with one place to fill on the Hawks team this could be a chance to impress and start a career with the Young Hammers.

  7. Sky and Virgin have not updated their EPG yet. Definitely on Sky Sports 4, but so is the horse jumping so what will go to red button only?? I will be royally cheesed off if I come back from grass track and got half a speedway meeting followed by horse jumping!
  8. Can somebody confirm any info about the meetings on 18th October 1. Grudziadz V Lodz (time, cost, directions, map etc & 2. Zielena Gora V Torun (time, cost, directions, map etc) Ta Rob
  9. Just got back in and saw this and have to agree with Anders NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Was so looking forward to Torun as well. Any info on Grudziadz greatly appreciated as might try that instead
  10. I may possibly have some spare tickets for the second leg. If anyone interested please pm me only
  11. They don't want dirt on the tracks as it covers the sponsors to easily when it sticks to riders/fence etc
  12. Sky are chuffing useless-all a bunch of chumba wumba munching minging toss bags poo hairy bum snot. I will wait for repeat-if that aint on the red button too!!!!! p.s I got Virgin if anyone wondering why i'm a bit p*&d off
  13. Is there any more news on what's on the Sunday after the GP?? Thanks in advance Rob C
  14. Does anyone know if there anything on speedway wise in Poland after the GP (Sunday 18th October)? Ta Rob
  15. Top draw-humour, not rider bashing-a few of you on here could learn from this
  16. To stop any big engine arguements they should test top 4 after every GP. Easy done when engines pre drilled and sealed for this. If rider is in GP he would know that this would be required and have it done beforehand. Test can be done at the track and everyones a winner
  17. We have always hired a car and found it ok, as long as you have a sat nav it (Leszno) is easy to get to and you can come and go as you please. The main drag from from Wroclaw to Leszno and back is like an A road so not very quick, it's about 60 miles away if memory serves me right but took about 1 hour 25 mins.
  18. This is great news for people thinking of going by train. The last train back to London is around 10pm so this is now a viable option. It's only 2 hours and 2 minutes as well, i'm doing this journey on Wednesday for work so will see how easy it is and report back for those interested. we should get some group discounts going, if you book early enough then it can be pretty cheap-just have to find the right deals in the ticketing mire
  19. The reason SKY had no reruns is that they just updated the EPG (electronic program guide) when they new the GP was off. There is nothing sinister in the fact that SKY had no re runs scheduled, as for everything else ????????????
  20. It's blatently obvious in all walks of life that one mans meat is another mans poison. This could certainly be said of both Scott Nicholls and Chris Harris. I personally prefer Scott to Bomber, but that said I will be behind BOTH of them 100% for the coming GP's Instead of the bitching, get behind them, give them 100% support and maybe and hopefully Chris can emulate that magnificent British GP win and Scott can find that bit more and establish himself as a top 8 GP rider. Whether you like it or not-they are in it now, so LETS ALL GET BEHIND THEM TOGETHER
  21. Yes agree about Prague in April- this will probably scupper my Leszno trip as well as wont be able to do both in such quick sucession. Bah humbug
  22. The world under 21 champion should qualify you by right IMHO
