  1. Hence why it should NL North - Workington, Edinburgh, Middlesboro, Belle Vue, Sheff/Scunny and NL South - Plymouth, Kings Lynn, Oxford, Leicester, Kent, Birmingham. Would make far more sense in respect of travelling. I understand that riders can double up anyway, but then that is down to them. Although a paltry amount is paid to the riders for travel, it makes sense to make it as affordable as possible on all levels. And as I have stated before, I'm not sure why Rev limiters need to be a compulsory item and why U16's and NDL/NDT riders need a silencer less than 4 years old when they haven't materially changed since 2015.
  2. Rev limiters are just daft to be a compulsory item - The engines on track are around 11K and the rev limiters are set at 13.5K. The damage to engines is being done mainly on the start line. Riders only have themselves to blame if they like starting with the bike bouncing off a limiter. With the 250 lads we have been recommending a completely different set up to the normal as the 250 lads and lasses are bouncing off the limiter halfway down the straights. The amount of excuses we get from dads of the riders saying but they need to rev more etc etc!! The silencer rule I can understand for Prem/Championship but not for U16's and NDL/NTL as the silencers have not changed since 2015. The only difference is going to be a date stamp. Lots of perfectly good silencers will now go in the bin. RRP of a silencer is £270, so if 2 are needed then that is £540, then the cheapest way to get a rev limited set up is with a PVL system which if you already have, you only need to change the coil, but these are £170 each so another £340. I fail to see how this is helping riders keep costs down when both of these requirements are not really needed. Also, I know that there is currently a shortage of King Silencers as they just can't keep up with demand, so what happens then? Pretty much every rider here and abroad uses a King silencer. There are other makes but these are just not available.
  3. Why didn't they do a north south divide? Would make more sense for travelling-but hey ho this is speedway
  4. Dan asked for number 6 money. Not Holder/Woffinden money
  5. Maybe "A Christmas Carol" and Bates as Scrooge would of been a more fitting advert 🤔😂
  6. When has he ever said that? I think you are either on a wind up or full of "clutching at straws"!!!
  7. No, I didn't say you did (copied wrong part of message-sorry) I was trying to re-affirm what you had said. I know 100% that Kent riders are paid and others on here either have an agenda or just like a no fact sh*t stir.
  8. Yes very bad wording as Dan only ever rode in one competitive meeting on his 250. As for treading water, Dan chose to finish his education before fully committing to NL speedway! As Skydog said, Dan rode in the SDL when he was old enough in 2017 and then had a year in the MDL/SDL (2018) to further his riding development whilst studying and completing his education. And although every speedway will fall off from either being knocked off or from a mistake they make, I'm not sure where you got "mechanical gremlins from" as there hasn't been any with the 500 machinery.
  9. ALL THE RIDERS OF KENT KINGS GET PAID ON THE NIGHT AFTER EVERY HOME MEETING
  10. Track address is: Belgar Farm, Romney Road, Lydd, TN29 9LS. Practice booking number is (Angie) 07908 972097. Track manager Malcolm Smith 07870 471770
  11. Does anyone have any knowledge of when tickets for the match at Wroclaw (on 9th July) will go on sale? It is the Sunday after the World cup at Leszno so I want to be able to book tickets asap and this is the only Extra liga fixture that weekend from what I can gather. I have tried www.wts.pl but there is nothing on there at the moment. Failing that does anyone know any other meetings on that Sunday within easy travelling distance from Wroclaw.
  12. I noticed that Lakeside do have a few meetings on other days but the majority are Friday evenings which is either a breeze to get to or hell (unfortunately usually the latter)
  13. Current cost of GM engine (before tuning) circa £3000, current cost of GTR £6600. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for reducing costs and I think the GTR engine is definitely a step in the right direction. I just think it a bit dangerous for the BSPA and/or SCB to be jumping into bed with any one engine manufacturer. What speedway has needed is to diversify and not be a one make series in respect of engines/carbs/frames etc.
  14. And there lies the (future) problem, someone will want to tune one and thus it costs more money and won't last as long. The best thing about the GTR engine is it has a simple cartridge type oil filter like most modern motorcycle engines that actually collect all the cack in the engine and this in itself makes the engine last longer as there are no bits going round the engine wearing out parts. A modern GM basically has a very crude filter that does jack-this goes back to the days when the oil went through once and came out of the bottom and onto the track. Godden's are also developing an engine using this principle (oil cartridge filter) and they are also changing other items in the engine to make servicing easier/cheaper with their engine. I think most wear on a speedway engine is done with the amount of revs held at the line rather than actually riding it though and rev limiters would stop a lot of wear as the amount some riders rev their engines to is way beyond the normal capabilities of the engine. There are ignitions available that have limiters built in and I know a lot of the 250's have them that I have seen in the last year.
