  2. Well that was my first visit to Kings Lynn and was truly amazed.. Free parking in a field outside that was very well organised by the stewards before and after the meeting .. I did make sure I was back to the car quickly after last race though.. Easy access to stadium although basic with fencing to look through to the track is a downer but excellent terraced steps so everyone gets a good view.. And the racing WOW.. Awesome lines inside and outside gave every rider who was brave enough a chance to pass.. Can remember watching a world cup meeting at Peterborough a few years ago that was good and this totally matched it !! Belle Vue next year.. I hope they take lessons from the top tracks as they need to get it right ..
  3. Weather updates would be greatly appreciated.. Im on my holidays near great Yarmouth and have managed a pass out to sneak back to kings Lynn .. The weather in Yarmouth has been dreadful it's rained heavy for about 12 hours but dry now.. Hopefully not to bad tomorrow Edit : it's now raining again 10 mins after post.. I spoke too soon
  4. Found the below article... Now seems as though we have changed our policy !!!! We have had far less rain in the last 24 hours than the last few Thursdays and raced !!!! I am now extremely fed up with Sheffield speedway... if i had other options i would certainly be taking them but stuck as area we live next track is 50 mile drive instead of the 35 we currently do..I have still been selective on my meetings and will continue to do so instead of doing every thursday like we have for the past 10 years By John Gudgeon Speedway Published on Wednesday 2 May 2012 07:20 NEIL Machin has criticised speedway bosses who call their meetings off days in advance and admits it’s a “worrying situation”. The recent heavy rain has seen many meetings called off at least a day before, and Tigers owner Machin has vowed that Sheffield will not be adopting that tactic. He said: “I understand that clubs are trying to minimise travel costs for their riders but I just don’t think it sends the right message to the fans. “In these tough economic times we need to convince the public to come and spend their money at speedway and what message does it give when meetings are being called off days in advance? “ It doesn’t tell the public that we have made an effort to get the meeting on and in my opinion it is a worrying trend. We need to give them confidence. “At Sheffield we are lucky that we have such a good drainage system at Owlerton, probably the best in the country, so we always have a chance but regardless of that we make every attempt to get the meeting on.” Machin has also said that riders need to know that they will often be operating in less than perfect conditions and try their best to get a meeting on. He said: “I completely agree that safety should always come first but I’ve seen meetings where the track has been race-able, if less than ideal, and the meeting has been called off. “The riders need to know that sometimes they will be riding in conditions that aren’t perfect, but it is so important that we are making a big effort to get as many meetings on as possible. We have to attract fans, and sometimes the messages we send out aren’t always the best ones.”

  13. Any further weather updates it's not stopped raining at jct 28 of m1 for last 2 hours.. Not ideal for Shane as he doesn't do wet tracks..
  14. Any weather updates from the locals ?? We have had heavy rain overnight 40 miles down m1 but dry at present.. Forecast not great fingers crossed it stays fine and we get the perfect meeting
  15. Not in meeting 2 and i paid for a double header which was above the normal national league pricing. Also the new refund policy is £1 per heat for any unseen race I aint daft and expect a full refund but if there is no refund or reduced admission i will not bother making the effort for a 80 mile round trip in the future.
  16. Does anyone know what the refund policy is for last nights rained off meeting ?? I have retained my ticket and programme but unsure when i can use this !!
  17. NEW SGP APP AND GAME SGP fans will have this season’s series at their fingertips after rights holders BSI Speedway agreed a three-year deal with Vivid Games to develop a brand new smartphone app and mobile game. The new official SGP App will be available on all iOS platforms (iPhone, iPod, iPad) via the App Store and through the Ovi Store for the latest Nokia devices. It will replace the 2010 version and the partnership with Vivid Games, one of Europe’s leading mobile and handheld console game developers, will ensure fans get a new and improved experience. The latest edition will be available to download the week before the FIM European Grand Prix at Leszno on April 30 and offers up-to-date results and live scorecards from the SGP rounds. Supporters can plan their Grand Prix trips using our venue information, SGP calendar and ticket details. They can also read all the facts and stats on their favourite World Championship stars, take part in our Twitter feed, and enjoy photos and videos from the events. The app is being designed by Vivid Games, who are based in Bydgoszcz, Poland, and are also working on an official SGP game that will be available on all the same platforms as the official app. BSI Speedway managing director Paul Bellamy said: “This is a very exciting move for the SGP series and speedway as a whole. Apps and social media have become a massive part of our daily lives and have a huge role to play in taking the sport to a wider audience. "We want to keep our fans up-to-date wherever they are in the world and this new app is the perfect way for them to follow the fortunes of the world’s top riders.” Vivid Games’ chief executive, Remigiusz Koscielny, said: “As a Bydgoszcz company, we definitely have the sport in our blood and I’m sure this will help us develop a must-have app for speedway fans the world over. "We have a history of developing great apps and games and we don’t just want to develop a brilliant speedway app. We want to develop one of the best sport apps on the market.”
  18. Firstly i believe its false advertising,,, It appears as a free app,, this is obviously not the case. Like people have said previously Kandysoft is a one off charge and not an annual cost. I agree it was a very useful App but certainly not worth the £2.99 per year its also principal as it was popular Craig now feels he can cash in. I also would be interested to find out how may people downloaded for Free, how many people would have spent 99p annual cost or a £1.50 lifetime cost as against the £2.99. I'm in sales and would rather have 2000 people at 99p (£1980)using the App & spreading the word particurly as more people are using iphones than 100 at £2.99 (£299) I still have to produce a paper document for my father who does not have the latest technology so it is no hardship to print off an extra copy. With regards to the comparison that the cost of a programme, a programme is a full colour brochure with articles to read and keep not just information for 12 months.
  19. Has anyone had there update... !! Was a brilliant app but not worth £2.99 per season and that price is a limited offer... Looks like pen and paper for me in 2011 !! ;-( A real shame someone has decided to get greedy
