Everyone talks about speedway but as far as i was aware the top class facilities were made available for corporate/Business hire and functions Weddings/Parties etc, surely that should provide a reasonable regular income if managed correctly, Room Hire, profit on banqueting and more to the point Bar takings.. We have to remember this was not just a speedway stadium but a multi use multi purpose venue !! Thursday nights in front of the TV starts now... My £30 for admission and petrol plus the hassle of going straight from work so being out the house at 7.30am till 10.30pm is a thing of the past... The most important decision for next seaso is the team manager... We need someone who understands how it works... We always give it a mate rather than someone who can actually do the job... I dont get this clamour for Simon to retire... He is averaging 8.5, he is the current premier league champion and is the only rider to beat the British champion Danny King at Ipswich in over 40 races... Simon seems to have had a few issues with bikes and setups this year but is still on a 2016 GSA after 27 meetings and 123 races 8.42including an away average of 7.92 which is probably as good as any other number 1 in the premier league. Will update my team later as really dont know how to change it for the better.. 2 riders who should NOT be in the Sheffield 7 are Josh Bates and Nathan Greaves

Attended last night with my father and 2 small children and what a fantastic meeting... Passing or very close racing every race.. Yes we (Sheffield) won which is a bonus but main reason you attend speedway is competetive racing and last night was perfect... Brilliant track well prepared , Hats off to the scunthorpe promotion, Only negative is very poor viewing with smaller children but they still loved it..

How's track held up after yesterday's rain ? Forecasts not good later from 2 till 7... Fingers crossed this is one they get wrong

So when the tweet at 5.42 light drizzle went out maybe a further update may have been appropriate UPDATE| TRACK PERFECT for tonight v Rye House. We have avoided watering due to forecast. Light drizzle due to clear - GAME ON! This has annoyed me as its not the first time its happened and a 80 mile round trip doesnt come cheap and also takes time... Any doubt in the future and we will just not risk it
