  1. BTW we were promised a statement from Chris Holder after the weekend, were we not? That'll be next Monday then?
  2. To paraphrase Mark Twain, "Reports of my demise are an exageration". There is a lot that can be done with such an injury up to and including surgery. Greg is still competing at the highest level and we should wish him well. This year's championship is out of reach, but top 8 is still achievable. This talk of a wild card is premature.
  3. As a fan, I want riders to be proud to don the colours of my club. I want them to have some sense of belonging and I want them to look out for their team mates, even team ride occasionally. On the other hand I can see it from the riders side. Teams making mathematically driven whole sale changes mid season don't help and track preparation is a whole other story. The whole concept of league racing is a much more volatile environment compared to previous times and maybe I'm living in the past expecting riders to turn up and give their all.
  4. Hi DG. I've really got the bug on a Tuesday evening and will be watching again tonight. And we have PK at reserve again just to give us oldies an extra reason to watch, not to mention Emil, the other PK, NKI, Martin Vaculik, Jaroslaw Hampel, Bartosz Zmarzlik et al. World class riders in nearly every race. I might emigrate.
  5. Greg was in the top 8 before his injury. We are only half through the series. A lot can happen yet. Bet against Greg reaching the top 8 or who's going to win the championship at your peril. This is going all the way.
  6. I am not KL fan, I am neutral who went to see a high class clash between two potential play off teams. I paid my money and quietly stood by while the piss was taken out of me and my wife as well as several hundred KL fans and few others. If you were a Poole fan there that night, please speak up. I've heard the promotion's side of this i.e a thinly veiled blaming of the riders. I heard some (very few) comments from the riders via Twitter. And I'm supposed accept this, a 28 year day ban (Freudian slip) and bugger all else? I have been treated badly as a paying fan and I won't be shut up. We have all been let down by this and it's not good enough to say this wasn't good enough and move on. A full and frank statement please.
  7. Woffy finished on an identical set of race results to Holder and Dudek. But they both beat him in their respective qualifying races. But Tai, as well as Antonio Lindback, Emil and NKI did share a unique record last night.
  8. Just to say. Josh can be forgiven for getting only a second place in heat 3. He was beaten by Magic after all.
  9. And the loudest cheer at the rider presentation (after Greg of course)? No.108
  10. There may be more truth in this statement than we care to believe. This merry-go-round of riders is surely not the spirit of team racing as seen over the years. Juggling averages, wholesale changes, riders moving from one club and then turning up somewhere else means we could be supporting a very different team come the play offs from the one that opened the fixtures in March. Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but I guess it's possible to have a completely different 1-7 in October from the the one you started with despite the transfer window cut off.
  11. I'm hearing reports that Greg has injured his shoulder at the practice. Accident involved a medic apparently, but reports are a bit sketchy
  12. Silly comparisons and you know it. Riders riding for different leagues in different countries is an established principle. I remember Joe Screen doing 80 meetings in a season and no one had an issue with that. Riding for Torun and Belle Vue are not incompatible activities. Claiming priority is one thing. Claiming exclusivity is quite another. But if you don't have an issue with riders, many riders becoming unavailable to any British club then rest easy.
  13. An old f**t that uses Twitter, Facebook and the forum during commentary. Bit of a contradiction in terms me thinks. Your knowledge of speedway well before your time is impressive. But some of the speedway back in the day was a somewhat special. But that statement has always been true. Now is the good old days. You wait and see.
  14. Well I'm glad you think what the Poles are doing is fair, equitable and legal. It consigns the rest of Europe to the second division.
  15. But no one said, "You can't ride in another country". The question of "ownership" is another issue and a long way behind what the Poles are doing. We pay more so the rules don't apply to us. You condone that point of view?
  16. So the law can go to hell? Don't complain if you don't like it?
  17. I don't. But the SCB have banned him for leaving (or threatening to leave). Do you know better than that?
