  1. Do you know? Announcements seem to follow and interesting sequence. 1. Someone makes up an attractive idea and tells a few of his mates.
  2. Hardly true of all teams. Some have very limited availability of track time.
  3. I quite like it. But do I get a say? I'm a Bees fan. As an aside, I hope the Bees go back to the fighting Bee logo when they reopen.
  4. Riders still have to sign to say they have been paid for the previous meeting before they ride in the next one. Who polices that? And what are the teeth? In fact I can't remember any club ever being sanctioned for non payment.
  5. Quotes from Stewart Dickson: "That was the position [RS] held by Kemp in 2023. With his 4.04 average now meaning he moves out of the Rising Star scheme, but with a 25 per cent discount applied meaning he will start the new season on 3.03 "There was an extensive list of riders on the Rising Star list but Joe was the one who stood out" Could someone help me please? Who qualifies for the 25% discount and is there a published Rising Star list for 2024?
  6. Dan is delighted to go back to Ipswich. He became a firm part of the Ippo family and was given loads of help and support from Emil, JD and all the riders and staff. Who wouldn't say Yes to an offer to go back? Another year there, a solid year in the Championship and we might just see a real British prospect for a golden future.
  7. That makes Birmingham 2.64 km (or 1.64 miles) long. Bomber will be pleased. We can have the World Long Track final there.
  8. We reckoned Emil would take a race or three to fine tune his set up at Leicester. He broke the track record in his first race. My gast has never been so flabbered.
  9. Chris Harris at reserve? He can then effectively "guest" for riders in his own team
  10. I appreciate that the BSPA would not publicise reassessed averages prior to riders being signed. But after being signed why can't we all know the numbers? I didn't. I'm reminded of the case of Man U not taking part in the FA Cup some years ago and the outcry that followed their decision. I believe the rules were changed to prevent this happening again (?).
  11. Sorry if I'm being cynical, but the chairman of the board is promoting a club which is going to hold half the development fixtures of any other club apart from Sheffield.
  12. That's a great signing. I thought BV were mad to let him go.
  13. I do think the tractor racing is more in evidence at Leicester than most other tracks. I've been to meetings with some young kids and a teenager and their comments, such as "not more tractor racing" are a salient reminder why new fans can easily be put off from becoming regulars. When I moved to Leicester (the old enemy) I realised that I am, first and foremost, a speedway fan. But I still wear my Bees shirt and coat!
  14. I heard that JD rides in this country because he gets home sick riding elsewhere. Seriously.
  15. You need to be more sociable. Let me know where you are and I'll buy you a beer. Then we can use all those "unnecessary" breaks to sort out all of the speedway world's problems.
  16. I was going to say that this is not a Leicester only initiative. As such, I'm a bit surprised that there isn't anything about it on the British Speedway website. I guessed that the same article, with appropriate changes to the email address etc., would be on every club website. On looking around the various sites (not all of them, I admit) this appeared to be the case. I did note, however, that the Oxford version does not include the social media position.
  17. 2nd half first sounds like a brilliant idea. But.... Lay out the rules for the second halfers clearly. Start on time. No stretching the 2 minute warnings. No gardening. Just a crisp flow. Get the main teams ready to go. In fact, maybe run out the main team riders on parade, in pairs, crisply between junior races. Of course this means they have to be ready and the crowd have to be clearly informed who it is they are seeing. And then the main meeting has to start right on the money and be run smoothly. Come back Charles Ochiltree
  18. Come back soon, Mildenhall. As a neutral, yours is one my most favourite venues to visit. Yours is a solid promotion that would be a great loss to our sport if you don't return to league racing.
  19. I tell you what. We'll have him. In a heartbeat. A one hundred percent terrier, who inspires those around him in the pits.
  20. I thought that, but they are dated 18 11 2023
  21. Well I found the same photo on the BSPL website (buried where you'd not normally gain access) along with another one today....
