Wolverhampton Wolves Vs Poole Pirates 20/07/2015
Beowulf replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Honestly SCB, I wouldn't even dream of a home win. However, if anybody is going to stop the Pirates winning 3 in a row, it's got to be Coventry. C'mon the Bees!! -

As he was the one that usually stirred the cauldron in the first place, he's the one to blame. Anyway back to Monday. Guaranteed 4 point win for the pirates, put your house on it. We couldn't beat a NL team at the moment. -

Not that's a particular loss you understand. -

One of the great mysteries of the modern age......................................................why Shovlar goes to meetings but doesn't post on the BSF anymore. -
It's a "testing time" for us and we have to "battle on" and "give it our best shot" and show "resolve". Unfortunately "things have not gone to plan" but surely "better results are around the corner". of course "everyone is in this together" and we will eventually "come out of this dark passage" "in a better frame of mind".

Ahem, pedantic hat on. Both slander and libel are defamatory comments. However slander is the spoken or oral version, whereas libel is the written version. End of lesson.

Coventry V Wolves Friday 10th July
Beowulf replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not worried, our next leage title is virtually around the corner. We won leauge titles in 1991,1996,2002 and 2009. This gives a gap and mathmatical progression of 5,6,7 years. Therefore our next title is due in 2017. Can't wait. By the way 2009 was quite enjoyable. -

I'm predicting a "couldn't care less about the result" from Beowulf. Another failed season. Back in the early seventies I saw us win 3 years out of 4 at Brandon, now those were the days. -
We're well aware of that fact. However, the circle will turn and we will be great again. I just hope I'm alive when it happens!

There's not much logic in that comment, taken to the extreme every club that had a poor season, and every club does, would be changing their track. Quite simply we've got a poor team, period. if we had a team at the top of the table the track wouldn't even be mentioned.

Wolverhampton V Leicester 6/7/15

That could apply to any match between now and the end of the season! -
I have been going 1967, and the excitement is waning for me too. I used to go about 50% of the away matches, and for about 5 years I haven't been to any away. I will continue to go to the home matches, I have a season ticket, but more out of habit than anything else. A few years ago the matches against Coventry, when they used to win virtually every year at Monmore, the atmosphere was electric. I hated to lose, but the buzz was brilliant, now nothing. Luckily the friends I have made at speedway are exactly that, I see them outside of speedway, and I'm grateful for that.

Based on the recent form of our No 1, this is almost certainly a home defeat.

Interesting, do you have any more details about this variety package? Thanks to everyone for their kind replies so far. Hmm, it appears that Eurosport (in HD) is included in the family pack, and is slightly cheaper too.

I currently have Sky sports and Sky Movies. Reviewing my overall finances I have decided to cut back and think Sky is too expensive. I would miss the GP's (particularly as Tai is likely to be bidding for the title for a few year's yet) but would not be too bothered about the Elite League. I think I read somewhere that the GP's are uploaded to Youtube. A quick check on Youtube, and indeed all of this year's complete GP's are there. Does anybody know how soon after the GP's they are uploaded, next day, next week, later ? Please excuse me if it's a 'silly question' as I don't use Youtube at all. Any other alternative suggestions would be warmly welcomed (except going down the pub to watch - we're economising here!)

I think the weather will prove that it was the right decision irrespective of any other theory. -

I am about 1.5 mile from the track. Rain now stopped, still overcast but beginning to brighten up. -

It's a long season, we've had a good start that's all, no guarantee of it continuing. But it would be very nice to be in 4th place at the the end of the season. -
PK's form is the reason for our 'surprise' start to the season and hence his absence the reason for a tonkin' !
-
Sadly, can only see a big win. Not much fun for the home or travelling fans

I agree with you, there was little passing last night, and therefore not that entertaining. Also agree that there is very little atmosphere these days. I don't go away any more, but I assume it's pretty much the same everywhere. Porky does try but he has very little coming back to him. -
Harris surely is a reasonable guest at Wimborne Road ?

Tables to be turned here with no joy or points for the Wolves.
