  1. Well if you're talking Monmore then neither Doyle or Sayfutdinov have a chance ! (just joshing )
  2. I have no inside knowledge , but I just can't see Freddie riding for anybody else. He is an out and out Wolves legend. I have followed the Wolves since 1967 and he is easily in my all time top 7, (the others are open to debate ). When the GP's are not an issue I can see him having a season or two as a swansong (assuming we have a track that is)
  3. That would be rather harsh on Riss, don't think he's done anything wrong.
  4. He beat the home 3rd heat leader (King) twice, so as an away reserve that is pretty good (no disrespect to King).
  5. My view of Barker is that "he is crap". That is not because he is riding for Ipswich, I have always thought that. Facing a full strength Witches team the final result could well have have been different for the Wolves.
  6. Excellent analysis, I hadn't thought of viewing it that way. A new careeer as a forensic accountant beckons............................................................................................ (btw I am an accountant )
  7. For the sake of the league, I hope that this is a freak result, don't need Stars to be that bad, or Tigers to be that good !
  8. No problem for his fellow Russian, Mr Sayfutdinov.
  9. To be fair very few riders in the league would have a chance of doing that.
  10. Its the only curent track that I havent been to, so I will have to make the effort sometime. Its a shame it's in the lake district, somewhere nice would have been a bonus.
  11. Well I haven't seen Masters at Foxhall, so that is interesting to know. One visit I do remember is winning 40-38 , with Ivan Blacka getting the third place in heat 13 to get us the win. That was a long long time ago.
  12. The away team is able to challenge if they have riders who know how to use the throttle. Those who only know the open position of the throttle will be shown up. I read an article by Mark Loram. In it he said, riding and controlling the bike, it was all 100% about throttle control. Riding at Momore every week did no harm to World champions Ole Olsen, Sam Ermolenko And Tai Woffinden. Each to their own eh ? Also you should perhaps remember the phrase live and let live.
  13. I think we will keep it reasonably close till heat 12, then.....................................................................................heats 13 and 15 will finish us off.
  14. You have missed the point. You have made a sweeping generalisation about older people. Can you prove it with empirical evidence ?
  15. I would quite like some banking, although not as much as Halifax ! I believe there is/has been an adverse camber on bends 3 and 4, which proably has been unhelpful. As for Exeter (and Newport) George Hunter never used to turn up ! You needed guts to ride Exeter with the steel fencing. If my memeory serves me right I think we had guests John Titman and Billy Sanders in the team on one of the very few times we won there. On the Exeter theme one of the most stupid guest decisions we made was there. We booked Steve Johnstone who was riding at Glasgow on Sunday evening (6:00 pm) and the Exeter match was 11:00 am on the Monday morning !!!!!
  16. The best 'new build' track I saw was Somerset.
  17. That was a bank holiday. Another bank holiday one we did was 11:00 am Birmingham, 3:00 pm Ellesmere Port and 19:30 Leicester. Can't remember the fixture's now.
  18. Peterborough v Boston, Boston v Peterborough and Kings Lynn v Poland, then the drive back to Wolverhampton !
  19. Well that frees up 2 hours of your time to go and do something else. Enjoy.
  20. Without checking the heat details would that prevented Bewleys TR ride later ?
  21. I wasn't at the match, so what good luck did Wolves have ?
  22. I'm 69 and voted remain. How does that suit your agenda ?
  23. Yes, that is correct, Wolves rode on Friday's up until 1980, 1981 was national league which was mainly sundays. We were closed in 1982 and 1983. Re-opened in 1984 and CVS used Monday's citing people now have 'other things to do on Fridays' . Personally, I loved Fridays, have a night out with the weekend still to come.
