Belle Vue V's Wolves Fri 14/4/17
Beowulf replied to hyderd's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It was only payback for 1993. -
He should be at least as good as he was he was last season, but at the moment he's nowhere near that form. 3 or 4 points, at home at least, would be invaluable.

You got 8 from Newman's 4 R/R rides. How much more did you want ?
-
Er, Riss has ridden for Edinburgh which is very similar to Wolves and has the same track man! oh dear...................................
-
A Wolves win but Leicester could get a point. Quite encouraged by Howarth's scoring so far. Looking forward to seeing Erik Riss ride, he should be able to cope with Monmore having ridden Armadale.

I think that succinctly summarises the situation. -

Rye House V Wolverhampton Sat 1st April

Our heat leaders are not fully dialled in yet, which is absolutely vital considering the make-up of the team, Rye have a good team and congratulations on the win. I expect a very tough meeting at Monmore with so many track specialists. -
Any chance of you making a sensible comment in the next 100 years ?

Rye House V Wolverhampton Sat 1st April

After Wednesday's woeful performance at Poole, I hope that we can put on a better show. We'll see ! -
Yep a Wolves fan and proud of it but not blinkered like Shovlar. Clearly the Wolves management must be at fault, either by 1. sending the wrong format to the printer or 2. not proof reading the draft. If the old format was used then Poole have benefited by their reserves having more protected rides than this years format. Hence those who made the mistake have suffered by it, all equitable one could say. As regards making the image awful, I would ask to whom? The match was not televised, the majority of fans there would not understand, or probably care, about the nuances of the change in formula. The presenter Porky every week asks if there any people new to speedway, and there were a few. They wouldn't even be aware that there had been a change in formula. So yes it was an error/mistake but hardly a capital offence for a challenge match. For me the main point we got the meeting on, and it was enjoyable with good racing.

Rye House V Wolverhampton Sat 1st April

Nicholls and Harris are track specialists at Monmore, so I can't see them having a problem at Rye House. Can any Rockets fan tell me which Wolves team members have never ridden at Rye ? Thanks. -
Oh no, it's a disaster of epic proportions, Poole have lost their No 1 at Monmore Kyle 'the toaster' Newman. Promotor Matt Ford has asked the Poole fans to remain positive. I'm sure the tail-enders Krystof 'Kwik' Kasprzak and Hans 'elbows and knees' Andersen can up their game. He also reminded them about their secret weapon, the Wimbourne Road track. The rutted, pot-holed, deep in places, bald in places track will surely catch out every visiting rider under the sun.And if there is sun, there will be dust everywhere.

You've got to stop regurgitating this nonsense. Woffinden made a huge cock up, he took a large handful of throttle and ended up on the fence. This left a gap that the whole Poole team could have got through let alone Newman. Now Newman, and Ellis, did very well that night but there is no guarantee of a regular repeat. It's just as well that Newman did well or else Wolves would have had Poole for breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper !
-
You may be surprised but it is not a crime to think that Poole aren't going to win the league. Anyway in your opinion is it more enjoyable:- 1. To be made favourites to win the title, but fail to do so, or 2. Be underrated and then surprise everyone by winning the title. I'm firmly in favour of option 2.
-
I completely understand, it's not the same without your own team. When Wolves were closed in 82/83, I had Birmingham (with ex Wolf Hans Nielsen) and Cradley on my doorstep, 15 and 10 miles respectively. I went to 1 meeting in 2 years.

Why ? is there free beer ?

Then why the hell are you watching it ?
-
Yes ! Thank you.

I'd have thought that was too late, not enough time to do any track prep between meeting. Can't say I'm overly pleased with this idea, the cuckoos/spoons causing havoc again.
