  1. So you're saying that the Somerset fans were short changed, but at the time are suggesting even fewer guest's, which logically speaking would have short changed the fans even more. What exactly do you want ?
  2. Err, no. The fixtures shouldn't be planned that way.
  3. I don't think anyone disagrees with that. Doubling up has been discussed ad infinitum previously. The current day malaise, but who has a solution ?
  4. Come on you (partial) Wolves ! The Schlein signing has been a turning point. A move that the fans could see but one that the management surprisingly actually carried out. Adams and CVS have changed their outlook in their golden years. Well done. I think if Freddie had been there he would have scored more than Lambert (no disrespect to Lambert), so you tell me, were the rebels unlucky ?
  5. I might have hoped for a point with a full team, but I don't think that's possible now. That was a great win for the Rebels at Belle Vue
  6. It is a 6.00 pm, which is earlier than normal. If you want any suggestions for beer or food (!) just ask
  7. I remember being on a supporters min-bus to King's Lynn in the early 70's. My god that was a tortuous journey with the A47 (Hinckley, Leicester, King's Lynn) route. Over time the road has been straightened, and also had the A14 added to help matters. What time you setting out ?
  8. I am looking forward to seeing Mark Riss ride again. He had a great debut, but was it a fluke, was he running on adrenaline ? I await with interest.
  9. Hope that's right........................................................................
  10. Just out of interest, how did you find the facilities at Monmore Green ?
  11. There was terrace talk last night that for this fixture Jacob Thorssell will be missing having been selected for the European Championship (or whatever it's called). If true, there would be no facility available other than an NL rider. The management have got to be given credit for the recent team changes that they made that seems to have improved the team no end, but a lot of that benefit could be thrown away by losing to the Stars. It is always disappointing to lose at home but even more galling when you don't have a full team, and that isn't due to injuries. So, does anyone know the facts of the matter ?
  12. Not pedantic at all, I doubt if you have watched racing from every track the world. It is generally accepted that the NSS is the best track in the Premiership, but if you have to resort to abuse to justify your point, then you have lost the argument already.
  13. There is seating in the lower grandstand, but you will have to be there pretty early to get one. It is set up for the greyhounds, so you are sitting sideways as in a booth. There is a fast food outlet at one end of the lower grandstand with tea/coffee etc. With regard to the car park, there is plenty of space, but it does get full later on. I would recommend parking in the main car park, as there are stewards patrolling it, and I would not advise parking in the adjoining streets, as it is mainly industrial and problems have been known in the past. The car park is free. With regard to the chair, I presume that will be no problem to take it into the stadium. However I'm not sure how much use you will be able to get out of it, there is no grassy bank, a la Peterborough, from which to view the racing. Unfortunately Monmore Green for quite a while now only has fan access to the 4th bend and the home straight. This was due to stadium changes that the speedway club had no influence on. Therefore for the length of the home straight and 4th bend it is terracing and everyone stands. A portion of the 4th bend may be unterraced but the view is probably not great. As you come through the turnstile going to the first bend there is a burger van, ice cream van and souvenir stand.
  14. I'm assuming this is a general quote as you haven't been to every track in the world ?
  15. On the face of it a home win. We beat Belle Vue last week by 6 points, they are going well having now won at Swindon and King's Lynn. We did this with a second string scoring zero and having weak reserves. Since then we have replaced Skornicki and Clegg with Schlein and Riss, which seems to be a big improvement. However.....................................................the Rockets are full of track specialists. Commenting about Harrris and Nicholls signing for Rye House CVS said " At least I still have my 2 favourite guests available to me". On top of that Robson has been a particular thorn in our sides when riding for Coventry and Kennett has had his moments at Monmore. Plus there is someone called Ricky Wells lining up for the opposition ! And the Rye reserves will probably outscore the Wolves reserves. As of now I would take 46-44.
  16. It's his first full season in the UK, and currently he's riding at reserve for Edinburgh, so we can't expect too much. The bonus I suppose is that Armadale is similiar to Monmore. Ironically Clegg is in the Edinburgh top 5, but the way he is riding he likely to be replaced by Mark Riss !
  17. We have 3 Brits with Howarth, Clegg and Greaves already. Looking at the averages which Brit would you suggest instead of Schlein ?
  18. Translation : we gated tonight but didn't yesterday.
  19. He does, and so does Lasse Bjerre. Very little choice beyond these two.
  20. We are currently operating, at best, as a 5 man team. This makes winning any match particularly difficult, and puts so much pressure on the top 4. I am hoping for a win, but it would be no surprise at all to see a aces take the points.
  21. Everyone's assuming we will have points to play with, but will we ?
