  1. Middlo's got 7 titles (?) How many would it be without cheating ? Lol.
  2. Mainly the ex Motocross riders.
  3. I think the Norwich v Ipswich football rivalry is totally understandable. Football rivalry also contributed to the speedway Wolves & Cradley rivalry, Wolves speedway fans generally followed Wolverhampton Wanderers, whilst most Cradley fans followed West Bromwich Albion.
  4. I don't say the following with any 'pride' whatsoever. The local Wolverhampton paper is the Express & Star. In the 70's (I think) they sponsored a 3 team tournament between Birmingham Cradley and Wolves. The tournament was run in 1 day on a Monday ( so must have been a Bank Holiday) , Birmingham at 11:00, Cradley at 3:00 and Wolves at 7:30. At the Birmingham meeting a near riot broke out in the back straight bar and a table, yes a table, was thrown from 1 set of fans to another ! 3 sets of fans at 3 local meetings, what a recipe for disaster. Don't condone it, but my god that atmosphere is missed.
  5. According to Google the approximate distance between Monmore Green stadium and Dudley Wood is approximately 6.8 miles (I'm surprised, I thought it was more than that). Now distance is not the only factor but it's certainly a big indicator in the rivalry. Having partly researched this previously the only tracks that I could find that were nearer were West Ham and Hackney that were around 3 miles apart, which is insane. Incidentally Saddlebow Road to Foxhall Stadium is approx 59.3 miles. Case closed.
  6. Sorry but nothing, and I mean nothing, can match Wolves v Cradley at it's height.
  7. Surely the logic is that no existing fans will be put off by going, so even 1 new fan is a bonus ? ( And yes I understand the logic of lost regular fans for TV matches)
  8. Wolves have never won the title in front of their own fans. This year would be a good time to start ! Swindon, obviously, will have others ideas though.
  9. As there are no tactical substitutes in the final on what basis do Wolves have "a massive advantage" ? It seems to me that you did not get your own personal preference.
  10. With respect, what are promotors meant to do about the weather ?
  11. In the 2017 final against Wolves, you had the home leg first and went on to win the tie.....................
  12. You are amongst a very small minority who think that Wolves is sub-standard. I have never seen you come up with any logical argument why you think that is so.
  13. One advantage (albeit small and minor) that Wolves have is that, I believe, there are no tactical substitutes in the play- offs. Jason Doyle will be the best rider on show, over the 2 legs, by a mile. So to limit him to 5 rides at Monmore will be good from a Wolves perspective.
  14. That's when Wolves have their home leg, so that might put BT in a pickle.
  15. Could explain further what you mean by that ? Thanks.
  16. Do you seriously think that IF Wolves meet Poole that the reserves scores would be the same again ?
  17. So when and if Poole win the title will be it be an incredible backs to the wall performance ? Nobody can say you aren't predictable.
  18. You've finished top of the league, and your underdogs for the title ? Christ this record has worn out all of the grooves.
  19. Nothing to take, makes zero difference to our season. Happy for the Panthers fans to end their poor season on a high.
  20. It's not an element of not trying to win, it's a case of not taking any unnecessary risks. Get injured in this meeting and you potentially lose 4 play-off meetings. The headline on the Wolves official site for the match report is "Wolves come through unscathed".
  21. An element of 'Ipswich' safe riding shall we say.
