Whichever way you look at it fielding a team with a points total that is likely to be 2 points less than all the opposition is frankly ludicrous, if not stupid. Any improvement in riders averages takes you up to what the others are starting at !!!! If Nicol is so critical, surely they could signed him as an asset, and used him next year ( I have no idea who owns him).

Up until the time they don't need the UK, any improvement they make will be beneficial to the team. Your argument is flawed as it implies you should never sign a rider with potenrial.

Fair enough, the intensity is hard to describe. Checked distances, Wolves to Cradley was approx 8-9 miles. Having researched local rivalries, the only one that I could find closer was Hackney to West Ham which was an incredible 3 miles apart. In other words the rivalry was out of this world.

Fair enough, I'm speaking from my own perspective, but I know many with the same view.

I think we can safely rule out Pawlicki. As to Iversen, why would he ride for us as opposed to Kings Lynn ? As for Thorssel and Masters there appears to a possibility that 1 of them won't be back.

In essence we have got Schlein, Morris, Becker, Douglas and Nicol. So I don't think a new 7.5 rider comes into the equation.

Not so long ago Jason Doyle and Nick Morris were the top 2 riders in the top league by average. Now that could have been a fluke, but it would have quite a thing to have fluked it for the whole season. He didn't cover himself with glory last season, but I don't know how much effect the injury had on him. On his average I think he is worth another go. As far as Becker goes I am 100% sure he will be in the team, note the earlier comment about Ermolenko and Correy).So we have sorted the second strings (Morris & Becker) and the reserves (Douglas and Nicol). Just the heat leaders to go. Whoops, forgot about Schlein, 2 heat leaders to go.
