King's Lynn v Wolves 26/08/21
Beowulf replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I wasnt there but a fair few races on live updates were noted as FTG ? -
You are assuming the final would be Panthers v Wolves. I'm sure Belle Vue and Sheffield would have something to say about that at this stage. Long way to go, no chickens counted yet.

Although Wolves are in the play-offs, they still need to win to keep ahead of Peterborough in the battle for top spot. The Stars now have a much better line-up than the A match, so yes it could be close. -

Wolves have won the play-offs 3 times, 2002,2009,2016. On none of those occasions did Wolves top the league and they always rode the second leg away. Any suspicious Wolves fans might not want to top the table ! -

You are currently 7 points behind Wolves (1 match in hand) so you won't be going top tonight. You also have to ride the B match at Wolves. -

Mixed bag ! Becker 15+1 and Nicol 1. Perhaps surprisingly Becker is pretty good on the bigger tracks. Maybe he's in the mould of Sam Ermolenko (not saying he going to be that good) where he can ride any track. -

The Wolves record at Alawalton is very poor. No matter who we have in the 1-7 wins there are rare. However we are in better shape than last time. We had to use R/R for Schlein, sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. Masters only scored 4 but is currently in a run of reliable scoring. Leon Flint did ride last time scoring 0 , but is now settled in and had a really good score at Ipswich of 10. Still, I think its a Panthers win and I would like a point, but not confident of that. As an aside Panthers fans, if you did get first pick in the play-offs, who would you choose ? From our perspective I would choose Sheffield. -
Ipswich v Wolves. Today I think
Beowulf replied to Baldyman's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As a Wolves fan, obviously happy that it was a straightforward win for the Wolves. However, it is painful to see a legend such as Crump struggling like this, and in hindsight a wrong decision by Crump and by Ipswich using 8 points out of the total for Crump. As for Cook it would seem that he should doing much better than he is, but it is known that he 'issues', so only he knows if he is failing or not. -

I can only go on the updates, but it seems a great performance by Leon Flint. Peter Adams always tells his riders that their job is to beat their opposite number and Flint has done that. In addition to beating Starke and Kemp he has also beaten Anders Row and Craig Cook. So all in all a great performance by him. -

Overall I don't think that's a good thing for the sport. Who the heck would be interested in buying in the current circumstances. -

In the previous match Crump scored 3 and Cook 6. I rather think they will score more than that tonight. -

Teams from the Wolves site:- IPSWICH: Jason Crump, Anders Rowe, Jake Allen, Craig Cook, Danny King, Paul Starke, Drew Kemp.WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Broc Nicol, Nick Morris, Luke Becker, Rory Schlein, Ryan Douglas, Leon Flint. Wolves have lost 2 away matches to date. Hopefully it will stay at 2 after this match but the Witches have won 2 of their last 3 at home. So....................... -
Wolves with 10 heat wins, Douglas with 5 (50%) of those ! Man of the match for Wolves. Obviously for Sheffield the opposite of man of the match is Batchelor.
-
Yes this is correct. Teams from the Wolves site:- SHEFFIELD: Jack Holder, Josh Pickering, Troy Batchelor, Kyle Howarth, Adam Ellis, Danyon Hume, Stefan Nielsen.WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Broc Nicol, Nick Morris, Luke Becker, Rory Schlein, Ryan Douglas, Leon Flint.

Wolverhampton v King's Lynn 9th August 2021

Fair play to Barker, he did good for the Stars. Track was difficult due to the rain, so well done to all riders from both teams. -

Just starting raining. -
Teams from the official site:- WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Broc Nicol, Nick Morris, Luke Becker, Rory Schlein, Ryan Douglas, Leon Flint.KING’S LYNN: Richard Lawson, Ben Barker, Erik Riss, Lewis Kerr, Thomas Jorgensen, Connor Mountain, Kasper Andersen. With due respect to the Stars, this should however, be a straight forward home win with no points for the stars. Ben Barker usually provides a kind of entertainment but only because he can't get round monmore.

Good meeting, fair result. Wolves not quite at it, or Panthers rode well ? You pays your money and takes your choice. Heat 15 though seemed a roller for Palm Toft and deserving of a rerun. -

You might well be better off with R/R at Monmore being able to use Nicholls, Harris, Pedersen and Andersen. Dont rememeber Ostergaard pulling up any trees at Momore. -

No one, Wolves website says he 's riding. -
Sounds like Dickens era solicitors.

Teams from the Wolves official site:- WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Broc Nicol, Nick Morris, Luke Becker, Rory Schlein, Ryan Douglas, Leon Flint.PETERBOROUGH: Ulrich Ostergaard R/R, Scott Nicholls, Michael Palm Toft, Bjarne Pedersen, Chris Harris, Jordan Palin, Hans Andersen. Overall the Panthers dont have a good record at Monmore ( as Wolves don't at Alwalton). However this team has Nicholls and Harris who can be regarded as track specialists. Then there is Anderson at reserve who is also no slouch either. Panthers have been a surprise this season and are currently well in form. All points to a very tough match. I hope Wolves nick it.

I believe he emigrated to Portugal, but I am sure he can us put right on that if it is incorrect. I wasn't at the match but noticed in the updates he praised Bewley, so hopefully his comments were fair.
