I loved Fridays too. Great night out and you still had the weekend to come. And obviously didn't have to get up for work in the morning.

Panthers vs. Tigers 20/09 Live on EUROSPORT

Not quite. Time to confirm top of the table position but not the league title. Two different things entirely. -
Sheffield Tigers v Peterborough Panthers - Thursday
Beowulf replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The Panthers away form has been incredible all year really, a point should be easily achievable. -
It has been a steep learning curve for Flint having Berwick as his home track and then riding Monmore. I think he's been great since we signed him to replace Tom bacon and it would be great if we signed him on a premanent deal.
-
After the Panthers win at monmore, it is clear they will top the table. Of their choices:- Belle Vue Avoid like the plague, haven't beaten them at home in 2 attempts (and Bewley track record holder) Wolves Could choose them and be fairly untroubled as we are no threat at Alwalton Sheffield A tangential choice in the hope that Wolves knock out Belle Vue and then an easy final against Wolves Of the choices, to me the logical one is Sheffield.
-
Cannot agree. He's long been a track specialist at Monmore. Yet when we needed him to perform as 'normal' in the 2017 play off final he was pathetic.Lost us the title, never forgive him.
-
7 points, 2 wins.
-
In the previous Peterborough meeting Hans Andersen had 4 rides in succession, so it shouldn't be too much of a consideration !
-
It also puts pressure on the team manager to get his selections right. In the past Adams has tended to use his best rider first, which I've disagreed with. This has resulted in Wolves building a lead, the opposition then using a T/S and closing the gap, with the weaker riders left towards the end of the meeting.
-
On that basis Panthers will win, surely Andersen will outscore Nicol.
-
Shame it cant be full strength teams.
-
In the play offs finals that we have been in so far we have always raced the first leg at home. This is mainly because we've not had the choice. However, apparently Adams & CVS like to build a lead and then defend it. So we've never seen the title won at Monmore.
-
No I'd rather see Pedersen at reserve. Andersen, Nicholls and Harris are track specialists at Monmore
-
Personally speaking, at this moment in time, I would choose Sheffield anyway.
-
Obviously the figures can't be wrong, but his form has been outstanding, so a surprise to see him still there. Going to be a big advantage for the Panthers.
-
Comfortable home win, obviously helped by the withdrawal of Richard Lawson. Hope he's okay. Morris all over the shop in his return to the Wolves team. Will need better from him, if we are to have a successful end to the season. Shame Douglas has moved back into the 1-5, hopefully Andersen for Peterborough does the same. Next Monday against the Panthers should be a cracker.

Belle Vue -V- Sheffield (Eurosport) Monday 06/09
Beowulf replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The Wolves have doubled the Aces twice, which of course is very pleasing for Wolves fans. However it means nothing in the play -offs, past results have no relevance whatsoever. We all start from scratch and I take nothing for granted. -
Peterborough v Ipswich Monday 6th September

As a Wolves fan I'm not worried or bothered. Thank you, however, for your concern about us. -

Dave Rowe knows his stuff but my goodness it is all at 100 mph. Pearson as a Spoon and Baggie shouldn't be allowed to comment on Wolves matches. -
Wolves web-site says Morris having a late fitness test. With all due respect to the Stars this should be a comfortable home win. However, just the 3 points are needed so 46-44 is fine.
-
I saw Wolves at Hampden Park which was even worse (never saw Wolves at Wembley which would have been quite something )
-
I don't think it would right asking a young lad to do that ! Simply refuse the booking and everybody would understand that it is illogical to help your nearest rivals.
-
I'm surprised wolves management haven't had a word with flint and asked not to take the booking.
-
You really don't know what you are talking about. When Doc Bridgett was doing the track we won multiple best track of the year, as voted by the riders. I will admit it has been a loss since he retired. But when Sam was riding it was the most breathtaking riding I have seen anywhere, bar none. As an aside which team do you support, or would you rather not say ? Is criticism only allowed in one direction ?

Sir Sidney, This is the absolute best advice. Monmore is surrounded by industrial units and the East Park behind the closed back straight. There is no housing and therefore no prying eyes to keep a watch on things. This is not to say that Wolverhampton is intrinsically unsafe. As a last resort there is Priestfield Metro stop which has a park and ride with housing opposite. This is past the stadium as you are coming out of town. Would take you about 10 minutes to walk from there. I imagine that would be safer. But hey get there early have a beer and a burger/chips and you're sorted.
