Spot on. Disenfranchise the Brummie fans with a change of name and and is of virtually no incentive for Wolves fans to attend either.

I haven't been to Birmingham for quite some time, but I do remember that the viewing outside was awful and not particulaly enjoyable. Not meant as a criticism, just an observation, they like Wolves have to make do with what they've got. In terms of Wolves fans, well, it does make you think. Wolves were closed in 1982 and 1983 and I went to 1 speedway meeting and that was at Birmingham, that despite the fact that Hans Nielsen rode there after Wolves and I was a big fan of his. Of course I might be an exception, but when it's not your own team its just not the same, fans of closed tracks tend to melt away....................................................... Even if Wolves come back later at an out of town location I do wonder how many fans will make the effort. Currently I can walk to the track, so my view may be skewed. Having said I have been a fan though since 1967 I would definitley give it a go.

Not "we", just you. -
Emil is the better racer and rider. Laguta mainly a gater with the occasional pass (ref Gp's)

I remember Ivan mauger talking about Hull quoted as saying "it's like going down a corridor and turning left" -

I magine that kind of discussion would happen on a football forum not a speedway forum. -
The issue is that Monmore is limited in capacity, a hangover from covid times. The paper exacerbated the situation by saying it was the last meeting, which is false as there are 2 individual meeting scheduled. Consequently the turnstiles were closed in order to keep within the allowed capacity. Not great.

The British League got up to 19 teams at one stage. Hull (boulevard) and Newport (Somerton park) were awful tracks, square around football/rugby pitches, but I never wanted them gone. They provided speedway for fans in those places and better that than nothing at all. -

Can I just say that I am heartily sick of this superior attitude ? Belle Vue who have had a track built for them with no restrictions compared to Wolves who have to fit within the confines of a greyhound track and whatever their landlords decree. You may or may not know that in 1996 the greyhound track was being altered and the stadium was not available to us, so we had to ride the 'home' leg of the KO Cup final at Long Eaton. On match days we only have access to the the track late on due to greyhound racing in the afternoon. These are the sort of things that we have to contend with. Also as a Wolves fan you have zero right to speak on my behalf, so refrain from doing so.I hope that's clear.- 366 replies

No -
By the way how did you get on at Ipswich, who had NO ringers ?
-
The fallout from the Lambert ringer, as you so rightly know, is far, far worse, and Tai wasn't a ringer, at that point he had only ever rode for 1 top flight team. Guess who ?

Not saying much for Wright then !
