  1. To paraphrase Bruce Forsyth from Play Your Cards Right:- "You get nothing for a pair - not in this game."
  2. You get plenty of passing at Monmore, with the home riders passing throttle bashers who dont know how to turn a bike........................................
  3. Both Worralls ? You really are a sadist.
  4. I am Indian, originally from northern India. Have been following the Wolves since 1967. Used to go away as well but stopped going about 10 years ago, although still go to play-off finals if we get there. Been to approximately 76 tracks but my list needs updating. Only current track I haven't been to is Kent, but also never got to the Isle of Wight (and never got to West Ham either, but remember our 29-49 win in 1969). Even my own family take the mickey out of me for this 'unusual' interest. But there again I also like rock/ambient music, real ale and sci-fi and they take the mickey out of those as well. I collect Wolves programmes and have them from 1950 onwards. I also have all of the World FinaI programmes from 1936 onwards. I really have to assume that I am not typical of my generation ! I did take my son when he was young, but it did not stick, like virtually everybody else, football is the be all and end all for him. And bloody Man Utd at that. I, of course, support the football Wolves. Very handy that the colours are the same.
  5. Speedway talk-in with the Wolves management on Monday evening. From the official web-site:- Van Straaten and boss Peter Adams are set to announce a new signing for the 2022 Parrys International Wolves at their winter talk-in next Monday. Does this mean a new rider to Wolves or to this country ?
  6. I don't think the season tickets were the reason for your demise !
  7. The Wolves site goes on to say that the advantage over a season ticket is that the tickets are transferable.
  8. Which would a strange definition of going backwards. However, speedway sometimes works in a counter intuitive way because everything relates back to averages i.e. there is "no value or no more improvement in his average". That was a 32% increase in his average but somehow I felt disappointed with his performances. The year that Swndon won the league with Doyle and Morris in the team, I think they were 1 and 2 in the national averages. Was that a fluke never to be repeated ?
  9. According to Peter Adams in the Wolves programme all of Wolves top 6 (excluding RS) increased their starting average.
  10. Every track has home advantage of some sort.
  11. Flint re-signed for Wolves. Still learning his way around Monmore but quite useful away on the big away tracks.
  12. I was quite pleased with him last year. He hasn't quite got Monmore worked out yet, but that will come (have a word Mr Ermolenko !) and he was useful on the big away tracks.
  13. So you are saying Wolves are run on a business like basis, but are blaming the Wolves management for the demise of British Speedway because other tracks aren't run as a business? It seems to me that you do not have a clue what your own point is. By the way I think all of our riders last year were UK based i.e. no Swedes etc.
  14. My initial question wasn't angry in its content. Just wondering why everything is CVS's fault. You do seem to have some backward logic, because Woves are managing to continue running, they are responsible for other tracks closing ? Odd. There is nothing to gain for Wolves, and everything to lose, by other tracks closing.
  15. I really have no idea what you are on about. Wolves are one of the most stable promotions around. I cannot see Wolves not running in 2022. If they don't, then British top level speedway is in a hell of a lot of trouble possibly terminal.
  16. Why do you, or any other team for that matter, 'deserve' a title ?
  17. If Tai ever comes back, I think there is only one club he will ride for.................................................
  18. Been there once, 1976, I think. The riders going round was like the sound of a brace of WW2 bombers !
  19. I think the accident happened at Hyde Road where a drain cover hit his leg.
  20. I believe Ronnie Moore won the world title riding with a broken leg.
  21. He was at Belle Vue after his accident....................................................
