Belle Vue vs Mildenhall 10/06/2019
BobC replied to Sings4Speedway's topic in National League Speedway
The track was absolutely perfect when I popped in around 2pm. Very surprised that I had a message 30 mins later to say it was off. I was sat outside in t-shirt and shorts enjoying a light lunch at the time, less than a mile away.! I drove back to Devon, past Wolves and absolutely no rain at all until Cheltenham/Strensham Services. Not stopped since though! Is it raining or did it rain enough to have the meeting called off? -

Always does. Nothing flash, loud or brash. Just gets on with it. One of the reasons I like him. -
Peterborough vs Poole 23/05/19 Premiership

I didnt go,so a little confused. Pooles official website report says Kurtz tried to go round Tungate when he fell in Ht13. On here, all have said it was Andersen! Which is correct? -
Photographers in British Speedway

My own comment on Facebook. ''When in Glasgow for the Scottish derby, I asked Taylor what it was all about. To his extreme credit he didnt want to comment. I admire that. I suppose professionals can find a fault or two, even nit picking. But then again, who is at the top of their chosen profession at 17? Absolutely no one. Keep on snapping Taylor Lanning Photography. Let your camera do the talking'' I have been collecting speedway photos all of my life, from the late 50's right through to today. Obviously Poole in particular. I am not interested in the technical details. All I know is that if I like it, I will buy it,simple as that. However, this is making me think twice about buying others photos. -
KL vs Poole Supporters cup Mon 20/05/19
BobC replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If Poole were leading by the margin KL were and lost, this forum would be in melt down suggesting average manipulation! KL lose....nothing! Id still like to see 2 changes though. Covatti and Worrall being the prime targets. -
Same here. The GPs are a money making machine for the owners of the rights. Rips the heart out of everyday speedway and gives absolutely nothing back.

Plymouth management were very naive here. Should have got a sick note earlier in the week after the meeting at Kent. They said he came back there and clearly wasnt fit. Yes, it would have put Campos out for 7 days, but he could have been back in for the trip to Belle Vue on Thursday and at home to IOW of Friday. Definitely cost them a win last night. That was the difference

Glasgow v Sheffield KOC 10/5/19 @19-30

I think its now Leon Flint -
Why not? He has to earn a living. Would GB pay them in order for him to rest? Remember, his obligations are to Glasgow, first and foremost. Also, would a guest be as good as he is at Glasgow? He is unbeaten round there since he joined at the end of last season. I saw him this season v Edinburgh and he was on a different planet. He was awesome to watch when he didnt gate. Well worth the trip up from Torquay just to watch him alone. Ive never particularly liked him, tbh. My opinion rose dramatically after seeing the way he rode and helped his team mates.

Ive known Anders since he could hardly sit on a bike, from his early days at Weymouth. Over the last 2 weeks, Ive watched him ride at Plymouth,Kent, Berwick and Somerset. Good performances everywhere except Berwick, where most struggled anyway. By far his best was at Somerset.Always in the mix doing a great job at reserve. Pleased for him and enjoyed chatting with his grandparents too. I agree that Rebels should stick with the reserves all season. They will only get better.

Paul Starke in for Pirates.

Largely disappointing to be honest. Only 3 or 4 passes in 22 races says it all. When the likes of Bewley, riding his socks off and faster than those in front, are unable to find a way past says it all. The early races dictated which way this meeting was going. Gate 2 only scored 3pts in the first 8 races! Those riding in white and yellow had a big advantage. Congratulations to Robert Lambert, fully deserved 3rd Title.

Disappointing, but was obvious. Was in car park from around 4.30pm. Rain from then till 6pm making it a formality.Just surprised it took so long to announce it. Amazed to see people queuing to get in. Did go in and track was a mess, but that was after a tractor had been on it. Fingers firmly crossed for Berwick later. -

Coming up from Torquay for the derbies, plus Berwick on Saturday. Looking forward to a rare visit to all 3 tracks. Going to test my loyalties. Ive always had a soft spot for Edinburgh, since the Meadowbank days. However, I do now sponsor a Glasgow rider! Simply going to enjoy all the meetings, regardless of results. -
Ive actually been at the stadium at Midday and walking on the track with a rider. Bright sunshine. We left for a look around the Bull Ring only to get a call an hour later that its been called off! Returned to stadium to collect the van and the track was looking absolutely perfect.Still brilliant sunshine. Left for home, but had a call in the evening from friends saying all they had was a light shower at around 3pm.

Kent were robbed by poor refereeing, thats all. Plymouths Campos and Andrews clearly bringing down Kent riders. The referee let the Andrews incident go, much to everyones surprise. Even the Andrews family said 'Rich got away with that one' Campos was leading, locked up,and was on his way down, when Jenkins,on his inside had nowhere to go. Most folk near me had to change their programmes as it was so obvious. Zero from Kemps rides didnt help, but I do think Len was right to go with R/R.. Plymouth were riding to the best of their ability and could do little more. Kent are far better, especially as Kemp would have scored freely,I am sure.Very impressed with Ablitt.Only very hard riding from Stoneman cost him more points.I liked what I saw of Gilkes, aggressive and controlled. Dont be too hard on your riders or management. Its not often that a referee has such an impact on a result. Oh and before anyone says I am biased, I am a Poole fan, who goes to Plymouth regularly as its the closest track to my home in Torquay. I just like to see justice served whether its for or against my side.

I was never planning to go to the Press and Practice at Poole yesterday. As it happened track action was postponed. I decided to go the IOW p/p. So glad I did! Despite the puddles, scraping the top surface off and intermittent showers, the lads over there just got on with it. Track in great condition with many of the ripples bladed out. The funniest moment of the day was the early evening local sports news report. Two minutes of IOW coverage and only one minute about Poole. I can assure you it raised a big cheer in the clubhouse! Oh, to have been a fly on the wall of the Ford household!
