Poole V Swindon Ela 1/5/17 6pm
BobC replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Andersen a few seasons ago. He got paid around £2K per meeting, but had to finance all his own travel arrangements, van, mechanic etc. I was hugely disappointed with KK yesterday. Not seen him ride this season until today and was, Im sorry to say, not even in his own shadow. Constantly fiddling with his set up cant be good. Maybe too much? I am beginning to think his time is up at Poole. Shame as Ive liked him since he first rode for us back in 2003. Lots of unanswered questions for Poole right now. Swindon deserved their win, although got a little lucky when KK stopped in Ht13. A draw would have been daylight robbery though. Well done Swindon, you came, you saw, you conquered. -

Late opening gates. Whats the problem? Doyle not decided if he wants to ride yet? :-) -

Hope the weather is better in Poole than Torquay. Heavy rain right now. On my way to see my Dad who still lives next to the Stadium. Fingers crossed the weather forecasts are wrong. Otherwise we will probably see a Doyle revolt again. -
Krsko 2017 - Round 1
BobC replied to kraftwerk's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The track up to Ht 8 was about the same as Wards meeting. No sign of Doyle and co trying to get it called off though. Funny that. -
Such a shame. The Devils own website hasnt been updated. It only shows a meeting preview of the Eastbourne fixture, no result or updates The website is a massive tool for any club. Come on LR, sort it out, Poor pr =poor interest= poor crowds. You are trying new concepts, including a FREE meeting in May. Yet nothing, absolutely NOTHING on the main website.(at the time of typing this) Due to work commitments, I have not yet been able to get to the SBA. Cant make it until 12th May. Looking forward to it, no matter the results between now and then.

Rye House V Poole 22/4/17. 7pm.
BobC replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Have to say, Rye is one of Kyles least favourite tracks. Never really gets going there. Not sure about Kerr, so have to be happy with BWD's points. Not too worried about KK atm. After all, starting averages were huge. I believe its an average manipulation exercise, along with Holder at KL and others. Once new averages are declared, changes to teams will happen. Then we will see the riders points return to normal! While not winning, as most expected, at least the team are getting points on the board every meeting. -
Swindon V Poole 16/4/17 5 Pm
BobC replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I have watched Jacks formative years at Plymouth. Very inconsistent. Today he could wipe the floor with anyone, yet next week can hardly turn left. Made a huge amount of ground to get up with those in front, round 1 & 2, to lose it all again on 3 &4. Over riding and sometimes down right dangerously. He always stuck to the inside when it was always best to sit mid to outside. No where near as good as Chris at the same stage. Watching his performances closely at Poole and Peterborough. He will come good, but may take a little longer. -
As a Poole fan, I find this rather embarrassing. I had a friend who missed her flight back to the UK on Thursday afternoon.. She managed to get another flight back from a different Airport and got to the UK before midnight on Thursday.I know, I picked her up from the Airport! Had it not been for this, I could have perhaps given KK the benefit of the doubt. I am a KK fan by the way!! I tend to agree with Racers and Royals, this doesnt sit comfortably with me. I didnt go to either meeting as I was working, didnt even get to Plymouth in the end. However, it seems Poole ended up winning comfortably in the morning, with or without guest points and lost in the evening to a better side. They even got payback by choosing Garrity, as with R/R it seems they might well have won. Not at all happy with the way Ford has alienated most other fans against my home bred team. The sooner he goes the better as far as I am concerned. Poole will always be my team, but I cannot and will not continue to condone his miserable actions. Not now and then, but almost every meeting.

Not quite right. Before 6pm, you only have 2 hours FREE parking. So generally get there after 4pm you are ok. Where I used to live, St Margarets Road, which backs onto the Stadium, all restrictions are not valid on Bank Holidays, so didnt apply on Good Friday or Easter Monday. Do check the signs as things may have changed since I moved away. Working now, so wont be there for either meeting. Hope to get to Plymouth instead.

See Page 52 of this weeks edition. Competition to win Cardiff GP tickets. It asks you to name the 3 riders and what GP was it? Except......there is no photo to look at! Classic.

True and almost every comment he made was rude to the people he spoke to. He called one chap an 'idiot' for wearing Swindon colours and cheering on his riders. Any chance he had he took glee and belitteling anything Poole. Very immature.

I and many others at Somerset last night are still angry about the way the whole thing has been handled. I for one will not give the ungrateful brat another penny, thats for sure. When you read his website it comes over very clear he isnt going to be helping anyone soon, if at all. Just lip service and a con in my book.

Excellent footage of KL v Poole race in the pairs. http://www.speedwaygb.co/homepage Ride of the night easily. Enjoyed it even though it was Poole on the receiving end!

Thoroughly deserved victory for Kings Lynn.Best Pair by a country mile. Pretty ordinary meeting until the later heats.Lambert way behind the Poole lads, then hit the right groove out wide and rode a brilliant couple of laps to chase them down split them and follow Holder home all too easily. Typical British showpiece. Announced that parade would start at 7pm prompt. It finally took place at 7.30pm. Although they kept the meeting running pretty darned quick,(in my car by 9.10) its so annoying when the riders for the Final were only being announced once the 2 minutes had come on and the riders were at the tapes! First time up there for a while, but found the 2 co presenters very annoying with their inane comments.

You get a free programme, yes, really! Good that something has been done, but those that didn't even get there last night benefit! I get a 2 fingered salute as I cant make Wednesday. It could and should be that if you produce your ticket from the original meeting, you get a reduction over the next few meetings. Another own goal by Ford and Co.

Shovvy, can I ask what medication you are on? I ask because you seem to be on another planet. There was a lot of discontent where I was last night, me included. As has been stated on here, and the Poole Website, the track was unfit for the official practice on Wednesday as there were soft patches. It was decided not to practice, because of the potential damage to the track for Friday. Well, had they set a wheel on it at practice all of this unseemly mess could have been avoided. The meeting could have been postponed and thousands of pounds saved by riders, fans and promotion. In the meantime, what track work was carried out between Weds and Fri? Knowing Matt Ford, sweet fa. There was no rain between the 2 days, so the top could have been scraped off to allow the surface to breath. On other social media, others have stated that the refund policy for this meeting was 6 races. No wonder they did all they could to get past that target! Who decided that 6 races instead of the accepted norm of 10? Who has the authority to change things and as far as I am aware, not notify the public? Where were the notices saying this? My admission ticket clearly states ''Re-admit holder in event of abandoned meeting...subject to published conditions'' Where were the notices to tell me about the revised 6 races? I didn't buy a programme, so were the conditions published in there? So we had 8 races out of 23. Almost a third of the meeting. Can you imagine going the traditional football curtain raiser the Charity Shield at Wembley, only to be told that after 15-20 minutes the match was off because we havent prepared the pitch properly? Thanks for you cash now go away? I totally accept the riders point of view regarding track conditions, as Ive never ridden a bike in anger. However the race times were very comparable to last years play off semis v Wolves. You could see things weren't ideal, but riders could turn easily, as Doyle, Emil and KK all showed. Schlein was like a novice in his first race, but adapted to conditions to win his next race. My love affair with this sport is already at an all time low. After the contempt the fans were shown last night, it has all but died.

The scenario is very very simple. Use it or lose it. Troubled times over the last couple of seasons need to be buried in the annuls of history. The only way for Plymouth to succeed is for folk to turn up and pay up. Cut out a lot of the freeloaders. Have a team that will be solid at home and competitive away. ''Build it and they will come'' comes to mind. So its over to us, the foot soldiers, to encourage a friend or two to give speedway try. USE IT OR LOSE IT. None of us, whoever we support, want the Devils to close permanently.
