I'm not saying I like the format myself, I sponsor Joe Jacobs and he lost out in similar circumstances in the under 18's a couple of years back after top scoring and losing out to Brendan Johnson in the final, so I have reason to empathize with Richie, but those are the breaks and you know the rules before you enter the competition.

I would if they were the rules stated before I entered. Generally in fishing its the heaviest total weight, but you dont get the fisherman who caught the biggest fish complaining. I'm sure we've all moaned when our team has been pegged back by a tac ride, but we don't mind when our team bags six points, its all swings and roundabouts and all the riders knew the rules before they went onto the track. BTW, i'm sure Greg Hancock thinks its unfair that this years world championships are over 12 rounds, if it was a one off he'd have secured back to back world titles by now, but i'm sure there are another 14 riders who are glad its not!

Early season form see's Joe Jacobs as a real contender for a PL spot. He's come back from wintering in Australia a different rider and scored a 3 ride max in the u-21 semi at Stoke last night to go with a cracking first meeting for Mildenhall last week when he won 3 races including showing Adam Roynon the way home, the two rides when he didn't score were when he was taken off by Heeps when on a 5-1 and last place in 15 when he couldn't get by Heeps after missing the start when he clearly looked the quicker rider.

Ah ha! I see where my £2 is going now! Couldn't we just have met outside the turnstiles each meeting and I could have given you a couple a quid and it would have saved all the fuss of changing the prices!!

I noticed on the Mildenhall website that entrance fees have gone up 20% from £10 last season to £12 for the upcoming season

Personally although I like Cam, I think his inclusion on a high average unbalances the team. I'd rather something like - 1.Jack Hargreaves 7.04 2.Aaron Baseby 4.88 3.Joe Jacobs 6.27 4.Barrie Evans 6.97 5.Lewis Blackbird 7.01 6.Trevor Heath 3.00 7.Danny Halsey 4.76 Total................39.93 The balance looks good to me, and Barrie adds some real experience to the younger lads, as well as great team rider. Also with the probability of Danny or Aaron at reserve we will always be strong in that department. Guess we'll find out in due course, and if the racing comes halfway to last seasons I think most people will be happy.

Cheers for the info mate

Good to see Adam fixed up and hopefully he'll have an injury free season for once. Now I have nothing against Adam as he's an asset to the NL but my understanding was last season you couldn't ride in the NL if you had a PLspot at the start of the season and you averaged more than 4 in the PL. Adam has a spot at Workington on a 4.5 average for next season. As the NL AGM hasn't been held yet, how do Dudley know the rules are to be changed for next season? Or have I got something wrong here?

I meant 5 not 3 I wasn't implying it would affect Cameron Heeps, he does indeed have dual nationality, I was pointing more towards the possible signing of Tungate. I too take rumours with a pinch of salt, which is why I put rumour, not fact. -

What a weekend from the depths of Friday at Scunthorpe to the heights of last night at Stoke. A truly awesome performance by every man woman and child involved with the club. Feel like a Shetland pony this morning (a little horse ) but what a weekend. Everyone is so proud of what Mildenhall speedway have achieved this season and how far they have come in the last few months when it looked as if speedway might be lost to West Row. Whatever the result, lets enjoy today and make it a party atmosphere at West Row and who knows what could happen? Its a funny old game....

Mildenhall V Stoke Nl Po Sf 2nd Leg
refereerick replied to andy1967's topic in National League Speedway
First of all a big well done to the Mildenhall lads for reaching the Playoff finals The hard work was done in the first leg at Loomer Road on Saturday night and although the Fen Tigers got a slice of luck yesterday with the withdrawals of Gareth Isherwood and Tim Webster, they did what they had to do to get through. Hopefully Gareth and Tim will recover soon from their respective injuries, and also Cameron Heeps who was suffering with a sore neck after his coming together with Webster. I huge thank you must go to Morten Risager, who when it was discovered that Heeps frame was cracked, got his bike from his van and had it stripped down to replace the back end of Heeps bike! Aided by the help of many of the Mildenhall team and mechanics, what a team effort. Finally on the number 8 matter, Mildenhall have at least twice had a no.8 at West Row this season with both Niall Strudwick and Shane Henry taking the positions, and also Niall was no.8 at West Row for the Isle of Wight I think
