If Poole get the weather that we are having in Weymouth Right now, they will never get a meeting on tonight. -

2014 Wild Cards - 3 World Champs ?
Wildcat Willie replied to Mark's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Out of the three riders named in the first post, I think only Chris Holder will be in the GP's next season. I think that both Gollob and Hancock will retire from the International scene at the end of this season. Think Ward will scrape through in his own right, but if not he has to have a wild card. I think the wild cards should only be used for certain cases, such as Holders or any other top rider getting injured and missing most of the season and maybe if somebody misses out by just a couple of points. -
Who Should Be In Gb World Cup Team?
Wildcat Willie replied to bri1966's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I always think that the team should be based around the top four in the EL averages and then tinkered with according to who's on form, who's not injured and the track where the meeting is. No point putting a small track specialist in at Lynn I would think. -
Tai Woffinden
Wildcat Willie replied to David Haddock's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I dearly want Tai to be World Champion, but I do wish he gave tonight a miss. Like somebody said, one bang on that shoulder and it could put him out for the season, or more. He has plenty of years on his side to become champ. But whatever he decides, Go Woffy Woffy Woffy!!!! -

2013 Clubs And Riders

Pretty even looking league this year. Think as somebody has already said, Buxton look like they have a long tail and maybe Kent are a little top heavy with Steve Boxhall's average. If I were a betting man I would say its between IOW and Stoke, but there again I tipped Buxton for the spoons the year they won the thing !!! -
Cycle Speedway

Quite enjoyed the Horspath vs Poole match. I used to dread going there, but it didnt look as small as I remember it. Quite amusing when the camera panned around the pits area and there was the commentator filling in his programme!! -
I think the attendances would improve, but only slightly and certainly not enough to off set the money the Elite League clubs get from Sky. I dont go any where near the amount I used to go, and that is mainly down to having it on TV. But saying that I would prefer to see more PL televised. I would like to see a weekly magazine type programme showing highlights from all the tracks. Most tracks these days have their meetings recorded and in the main are quite good quality, obviously not as good as the Sky coverage though.

Speedway On Eurosport

Big shame if GP's are not on televised. I for one would much prefer to see the Elite league axed in favour of the GP's. It would probably make me go to more meetings a season. When Weymouth shut down , I went from probably fifty plus meetings a year down to fifteen'ish. Then I got sky sports and didnt feel the urgency to go any more like I used to. Last season I managed 3 meetings at Somerset and Cardiff. Didnt even venture to Poole which is 45 mins up the road, although not sure wether that is because of the speedway on TV, the price or the fact its usually boring racing at Poole ( in my opinion). Suspect really that it is because its on TV.
