Petition For A New Speedway Stadium In Essex

Done - best of luck -
No relation to Claes I hope

Rasmus Jensen then ?

Doubt it .....

Ray, I agree with Supersub - the bloke is an absolute tool who thinks he knows everything whereas he has shown time & time again that he is so thick he can't argue his way out of a paper bag. Biggest laugh is that he thinks he knows it all and that no one else is allowed an opinion regarding Poole, unless it's his idol Mr Shovlar. Was enjoying the play back of the first leg of the play off final til I saw the twerp on camera at the celebrations .......

You're asking too much there .......

Just viewed heat 15 as well and very glad didn't bother ..... Mid day / early afternoon meetings have never been great imho (and experience). Track looked like chalk and cheese compared to Wednesday ..... albeit have to say racing was pretty boring then until the thorough track grading @ interval post heat 10. -
Are Poole’s team changes fair?

Oh goodie ..... But I think you've missed the point I was trying to make ..... -

Apart from watching rubbish ..... compared to what I used to see (from 1974 onwards) ...... one of the reasons I don't go is the (extremely high) risk of standing next to people who think they know everything but are in fact utterly clueless. -
You are purely guessing what might happen ..... you are explaining jack all ..... probably.
-
I know I am not Steve but, personally, have to say I really enjoyed the Stewkesbury era ...... 1985 onwards from memory ..... after the Chandler promotion collapse aided by Mike Lee's ban. Not being able to see Sam Ermolenko progress was outweighed by return of Martin Gates, retention of Kevin Smith & Stan Bear, and progression of a host of youngsters ..... raw Aussies & my fave Dave Biles. Cost in terms of my wallet was not an issue in those days given quality of entertainment ..... thus would have no issue watching Championship as opposed to Premiership provided racing was exciting ..... and there ain't much to beat ATM. I guess most will have same view.

"Could have" or did ? ..... don't talk bollocks, talk FACTS. -
It is not worth trying to debate with MFF .... he is clearly the font of all knowledge and everyone else knows absolutely nothing. Shanes selection was obviously a numbers game ploy never ever seen before anywhere ...... and being replaced by (a higher averaged) Nielsen had absolutely nothing to do with others under performing (which created the ability to make the change).
-
Winning the league or not winning the league was never going to be purely down to James achieving, or not achieving, his 2.00 point average was it .....
-
How anybody could have expected James to do more than he did is beyond me ..... only his second season in the Premiership with only NL experience before that with Kent. A classic case of the numbers game ..... he got the team place as he fitted in with the others/Sundstrom and it is as simple as that. The fact that he could be replaced was purely down to others (including Sundstrom) not performing. It isn't that difficult to understand.

Sometimes Starman you make Forrest Gump look like a member of Mensa .....

Agree with your first point - we cannot blame these riders, who are riding to earn a living not a hobby (National League excepted) as the cost of maintaining equipment and keeping up with latest regulations has increased way beyond revenues being generated in this country ..... even allowing for the Sky input. Whilst "Joe Public" might want to see the top riders, the promoters have not got deep enough pockets (in the absence of enough revenue) to entice these top riders to ride in the UK. The money on offer in Poland & Sweden (to a degree) seems to outweight what 99% of UK promoters can afford. New ideas are indeed required .... but have been for a while now and one has to wonder if it will all be too little too late. I hope not.

Swc - The Race Off
nobber junior replied to Sandie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Eeeeerrmmmm ..........so we should also say that the Danes blew it but not using Bjarne in view of his experience / past track record / blah blah ?? Blooding the youngesters was a brave move ........IMHO a very good move and much better than using the "same old" just cos they've been around a bit and are someone's no. 1 (but riding well off form / below capabilities). The team did bloody well and we should all be very proud instead of moaning - we nearly got to the final FFS - much better than last year. Seems there is no pleasing some people. -
