Tony Steele – 1955 - 2024
andout replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I am in total shock. A few months ago Tony mailed to me here in Canada a bunch of SGP passes and information. Last year at Cardiff he gave me an "Officials" pass to do whatever I wanted to do. He was so kind to me. Actually had an email ready to send him to ask a question on a rule! RIP Tony. -
At one time it was pretty difficult for the Big-5 to team ride when they started on a Handicap......but I watched them all and I have a vague recollection that when possible they did team ride.

Northern Junior League 2024
andout replied to edmon's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
This result has now been changed by the SCB.... After the Glasgow v Edinburgh fixture on Friday 10th May 2024 a Northern Junior League fixture took place between Ashfield and Armadale. It has been reported to the SCB that after the conclusion of Heat 1 there was an incident on track between Ashfield rider Stene Pijper and Armadale Rider Dayle Wood which resulted in Mr Pijper suffering a suspected broken thumb.During this incident it has also been reported that a number of people associated with both teams also got involved in the fracas. The SCB will be investigating this incident. Also, in the same fixture which resulted in 19 - 17 win for the Ashfield team, the composition of the Ashfield team was not a per the SCB Regulations 013.4.3 where each team has two 500cc riders of which one can be a National League rider with a 5.00 NDL average or below and the other 500cc must be an unattached 3.00 point rider eligible to participate in the National League. On this occasion the Ashfield team had two National League riders in their team namely Stene Pijper and Ben Rathbone therefore did not comply to the 2024 Regulations.Stene Pijper score of 3 points will be deleted from the Ashfield Team Total resulting in the final score being as follows -Ashfield 16 - Armadale 17 -
First race you ever saw-any of the 4 riders still alive??

August 19th 1959 New Cross first meeting. This may not have been my first meeting but the first one I can remember going to and actually filling in the programme. Heat result: R. Moore, Craven, White, Brine.......Two World champions in my first race..All gone now, others in that NX team...P Moore, Genz, C Roger, Dunton....all gone too. Only Bjorn Knutsson is still alive. And yes I use the "ss" because that is how Bjorn had it, never changed it until recent years. And out of the Wimbledon team only Bob Andrews is still alive. -
Oh dear....10 for me!
-
And another one gone as John Louis is no more.....very sad.
-
Great to have it back up and up-to-date.....

My post was three years ago.....I still have the programmes in my collection.

Sorry, by your comment I thought you lived somewhere other than Europe / UK and I live in Canada. However the cost of postage from Canada is prohibitively expensive so sending you stuff from here is just not on.
