  1. 18 September was the date....no other info.
  2. Maybe stretching it a bit but....how about Mark Loram.....Malta
  3. Any updates would be just fine......GO LEGO GO!!!
  4. Sounds like a really dumb reason to me......nothing like getting the International experience whether you do well or not. It should set you up for when you really are ready.
  5. There are NO tracks currently active in British Columbia (Vancouver)..
  6. Would really like a programme from this meeting. Anyone have a spare that they would be willing to send to Canada? All costs paid of course! rkss@sympatico.ca
  7. Could someone who is going to this match please pick up two programmes for me? I will of course pay all postage costs etc to Canada. Please contact me offline if you can do this. rkss@sympatico.ca
  8. Just replied on the other thread where you asked for this programme.....its out on eBay right now...see other thread for the item number. Good Luck!
  9. Ask and you shall receive.....out on eBay right now!!!!!! ITEM # 270097769965 Good Luck!
  10. Oops! should have read the previous posts....all solved!
  11. Bugger!!! If I had looked at that site first without going through my programmes I wouldn't have had to waste the time but at least I got it right!!!
  12. This is a really interesting one......I guess the only way would be to match a programme from 1959....IF 1959 is accurate......looking at the records Coventry only had a WCQR that could possibly match this but it was won by Brian Crutcher. This kinda leaves Coventry out of the picture. These "Bibs" were also used for the long gone INTERNATIONALE, of course these did not start until 1961. If it is 1959 Ipswich did many open meetings that year with Internationals & Open meetings, many of these riders were in these meetings...it could just be one of those, not the 5 internationals they had though. Looking at the picture there is a "Logo" just above and to the right of Teo's head, maybe a clue if you can blow this part up.
  13. Unfortunately I remember these days only too well....I was in Holland at the time on holiday and I saw a poster on the road stating Denmark v. West Ham at Tilburg & Amsterdam....I knew nothing about West Ham going to Holland to race, even being a West Ham fan. So I decided to take a chance and find out if it really was...well obviously it was...I went to both meetings and even had chats with the riders.....imagine my shock the next day when all these riders were killed. Sad, sad days.
  14. You are absolutely correct BOBBATH...they are still living in Edmonton and just for the record Stan Bradbury was honoured at the Paris Track (in Ontario) this past season with a celebration of his 80th Birthday.
  15. Not sure if this is the correct place to put this but I'm sure this is of interest to NP fans..... PRESS RELEASE - COMMUNIQUE DE PRESSE Mies, December 21/le 21 décembre 2006 International Tribunal of Appeal Case of Speedway rider Nicki Pedersen Tribunal International d’Appel Cas du pilote de Speedway Nicki Pedersen The International Tribunal of Appeal (TIA) convened on December 19 at the FIM headquarters in Mies, Switzerland, in a public hearing in order to judge the appeal lodged by Danish rider Nicki Pedersen, team manager Jan Staechmann and the Danmarks Motor Union (DMU) against the decision of the International Disciplinary Court (CDI) taken on September 18, concerning the offence of bad behaviour of Nicki Pedersen against Speedway Grand Prix Race Director Ole Olsen during the Speedway World Cup event held in Reading, Great Britain, on July 22. Present at the hearing were Mr Santiago Puig y Viladomiu, TIA President, Wojciech Tomczyk and Gianluca d’Aloja, judges, Nicki Pedersen, Jan Staechmann and the DMU President Henrik Norgaard, as well as Ole Olsen, FIM CEO Guy Maitre and FIM Legal adviser Robert Hofstetter. The TIA confirmed partially the sanction pronounced by the CDI in its decision of September 18: Nicki Pedersen is penalised with a fine of CHF 2.000 and a suspension of six months beginning on 1st April 2007 and with respite for a probationary period from 1st April to 1st October 2007, verdict to be executed in case of further offence of bad behaviour. Jan Staechmann was given a warning for not acting in order to stop the incident. In a new ruling, the costs of the procedure are to be borne by Nicki Pedersen and Jan Staechmann: each one must pay half part of the procedure costs of both instances. The full text of the decision will be published within a few days. An appeal may be lodged against this decision to the CAS within 5 days following the written notification.

  19. Yep...he was an American......watched him a few times at Owego, NY before he went to England, sorry Scotland. I may not be right when I say this so don't quote me but I think he did have patronage somewhere along the line. Can't figure this one out though....Ivan actually rode for England against Scotland at Edinburgh in 1981 scoring 11 points & 1982. I think Ivan was from Philadelphia.
  20. The only magazine (sort of) that I could think of is the Free downloadable version on the SpeedwayPlus website....the second Free issue is there now for downloading. http://www.speedwayplus.co.uk/
  21. Yes, I am fully aware of that one....it was the one on eBay that I lost when my damn ISP went down.....already tried very hard to buy it from him but to no avail. and since he ONLY wants to swap I am outaluck! Since I don't have any of his wants...too bad for me.....but keep looking out for me, I really do appreciate it....there has just got to be more out there!!
  22. If anyone has these two Carmarthen programmes, I would be very interested in purchasing them from you. 19/10/2002 ENGLAND V SCOTLAND V WALES V WORLD 16/10/2004 ENGLAND V SCOTLAND V WALES V WORLD Please contact me at rkss@sympatico.ca
  23. There are other programmes missing from collections dure to none being sold after a rain off but instead sent back to the printers and pulped. The most famous one of course is the 1939 World Final programme....printed....cancelled because of the war...sent back to the printers and pulped...aaaarrrgghhh. So the same could have happened to the Poole 58 and the New Cross 38 BUT still the question is DO WE KNOW FOR SURE?
  24. Advanced years???? What is this nasty stuff you saying about your EX-friend. To answer your question, no it was not like part of the '70's & '80's where they had the same programme, each track produced their own. Records are there for this meeting.....just a "Rained off" meeting. Nobody seems to have this programme and some of the "BIG" collectors, this is still on their "wants" list. This programme is probably like the other one I don't know about FOR SURE and that is the 1938 Programme, meeting number 136 Eng & aus v US & Canada at New Cross....this one was cancelled because of an "Air Raid Practise".....how do you practise an Air Raid? So if anyone out there in collectorland knows about either programme PLEASE tell me and put me out of my misery. But of course, tigertom, you are rightabout one thing....I may indeed have to mortgage the house if this came up on eBay....
  25. Now back onto the topic at hand since I think I have taken care of "norbolds" wants....I still need the question answered definitively.....someone out there must know if a programme exists....or is everyone who collects internationals still looking for this one? Where are all the Poole programme collectors?
