This Gp Track Is Rubbish
Lanzilla replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
TRick was awsome tonight and fully deserved his victory. Lindback deserved a podium place for his efforts tonight. Can Antonio handle pressure??......I think he answered that question emphatically tonight. -
I'm a bit late getting to this thread but have to say that i am no longer in favour of the TS and TR rules. At the start of the season i was prepared to give it a go, as in principle it seemed a fairly good idea. However, after seeing the damage this ruling has done i would be more than happy to see the back of it. If it does stay then i would hope that it will be no longer allowed after heat 12 as that is also the meeting cut off point if a meeting has to be abandoned for any reason. It should only be allowed once with the option of a TS off 15 metres as the other option. Should the scores between two teams be level after home and away fixtures, then forget the run off and award the bonus point to the team that has used fewer TRs over the two legs. To be honest, i'm with Phil on this one. I'd rather see no tactical rides allowed at all and just let the riders go head to head and the best team win by whatever margin. That's what they are paid for! Let's face it...we've had the ruling in use for the best part of a season and we have still seen a lot of teams getting walloped. I can see why some of these decisions are made and alarmingly many are made with Sky in mind. Elite League Speedway is fast becoming a showpiece rather like WWE, and although i am a fan of Terry Russell and his vision for the future of the sport, i believe he is getting far too big and his portfolio of Clubs is getting larger. Soon it will be just him making all the decisions, if indeed he isn't making them all already. If i think for one minute that this Sport is becoming stage managed at Elite Level, then i will turn my back on it. The TR and TS ruling has allowed the sport's rules to be manipulated further this season and has done nothing for the credibility. I just want to see good honest racing. Surely that's not too much to ask for?

Band at the Swedish GP
Lanzilla replied to Jojo's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think you spelt it wrong......it's back to front! -
I just hope that any sponsors reading some of these posts see them for what they are.....pathetic ramblings. Great post from Poole Tourism and i think that most fans of Poole are grateful that you are associated with the Club and hope you will be around for many years to come.

We all had a dig at Hans for the WTC race that Scotty would never have won anyway, but it isn't fair to have a dig at Poole Tourism. They have sponsored Hans for a few years now and nobody was moaning about it when he rode for us. We very nearly had him in our team at the start of the season but had to go with Lyons instead. Seems most people know the reason for that. For all his arrogance, Hans is a top rider and for me he is top Dane. I'm a big fan of Bjarne but feel he lacks that little bit of extra aggression needed to be the best. Hans will get his place in the GP series next season, and if he continues to progress the way he has year after year, then he will be challenging for the title either next year or the year after. A controversial character but a flippin good rider.

Hans Andersen surely secures GP place in 2005
Lanzilla replied to JT's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Obviously i meant by way of generous sponsorship, as we saw this evening. -
Hans Andersen surely secures GP place in 2005
Lanzilla replied to JT's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think he is pretty much guaranteed a GP place next season. If not on merit (which he undoubtably deserves after tonight) then the fact that his sponsors are putting money in benfields' pockets should just about sway it. -
Well done Hans, although i didn't see the final race. I was playing golf in Swindon today, got home at 9pm and whizzed through the sky +, only for it to cut off when they were at the tapes at heat 25. Bloody crappy sky boxes!!!!...

I've heard some daft comments but that beats most. You'll be telling us he doesn't look Swedish next!!!.... -

Lanzilla replied to Govinder's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Can't agree with you there Tabby. Antonio has been fantastic all season and rides with passion and enthusiasm which is typical of one so young. The only problem he has is from the gate when he does buck and rear on occasions. Some of his overtaking moves have been quite brilliant this season and he sticks to his bike like Cegielski did when he was riding for Poole. You probably haven't forgiven Antonio for bumping into Boycie in the WTC, where to be honest, many riders were riding over the edge. You only have to look back at Havvys' comments. Wherever Antonio rides next season he will be a credit to the Elite League. Speedway has changed with the coverage of Sky, and a whole new wave of hungry up and coming riders are trying to make a name for themselves. -

More to do with the crap money i think. -

I think Hans will be a dead cert for a wildcard for next seasons GP series. He is controversial and Benfield will want him in the mix for sure. -

Fantastic news for Antonio and Tomasz. Seems like Andersen got his just deserts tonight and was a victim of the type of treatment he has been dishing out to others at times this season. Chrzanowski is one of the form Poles this season and it is no surprise to me that he qualified for next seasons' GP series. -
Rempala.............!
Lanzilla replied to Trapper's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
As much as Rempala impressed we have to wonder whether he was just fortunate that his set up clicked for him on the night. Gollob was awsome in the run off meeting yet the track was different on Saturday for the Final and Gollob struggled badly with his set up, hence only scoring a solitary point. Rempala does look a talent and will be one of the favourites for the under 21 Final, but i would like to see him over a few meetings before i pass judgement on him. You only have to look back a couple of years to when Kujawa was touted as the next big thing and where is he now??? -
Just sent my reply. In fact the coverage was so good that i decided to stay at home on Thursday night even though i had a ticket. Well done Sky.

Can only echo Tac Sub.....Wonderful performance from everybody. I think everyone in the GB can be proud of the Magnificent 7...

Time to go oh Middlo
Lanzilla replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Vincent Vega hasn't really had anything constructive to say in quite a while and rambles on like a sad old fool. VV keeps harping on about his beloved Arena and how they are so near the play offs. The nearest the team will get is probably 7th place in the table. If your only claim to fame is that Ronnie Russell has guided a team that were favourites to finish bottom of the pile to the dizzy hights of third from bottom then that's hardly a massive acheivement is it? Untill the handsome one actually wins something then he shouldn't get a sniff of the GB job. Middlo has the respect of all the British Riders and that counts for a great deal. He guided Poole to the treble last season and i wouldn't bet against him guiding us to the double again this season. Judging by the responses to this pathetic thread it seems your comments have sunk like a stone again. -
I want to congratulate Middlo for doing a fantastic job as Team GB boss. The Guy did everything in his power to win the WTC for his Country and must be emotionally drained right now. He should be given the Team Manager job for as long as he wants it. Arise Sir Middlo!....

Lanzilla replied to SCB's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Meridian Lifts are big sponsors of Hans so you can get to them through Google. In fact both parties deserve each other. -
Fan's Tonight
Lanzilla replied to Daniel Smith's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yes Mr Shovlar and i had matching frocks tonight!! -
Right decision?
Lanzilla replied to Dave the Mic's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Great stuff from Havvy tonight. I doubted him and i was wrong. Well done Havvy you did your Country proud tonight as did all your team mates. -
Hans Andersen is a very good rider but i'm afraid he isn't a particularly nice person. As far as the final heat is concerned i haven't seen the tv pics as i just got back from the Stadium. To be fair there wasn't much said from the grandstand about Hans letting PK by and from what i saw it seemed that both PK and Nicholls got around Hans quite comfortably. Scott wasn't gonna catch PK in a million years anyway, so i say well done the Swedes and the best team won.

well done AJ+ tomaz wot a meeting
Lanzilla replied to sirmatty's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Sorry to nit pick or be a smart R's or whatever. I think your thinking of Men At Work.Excellent band, shame they only brought two albums out. They brought out more than two albums, although 'Business as usual' and 'Cargo' were the biggest hits over here. Sorry to nit pick... -
With just one comment Lanzilla, you have just lost a friend! Sorry Tabby.......a slight typo on my part. Should have read..... "Even that ex Pirate Boyce......"
